  1. I get it , I was just explaining my position on the matter. If I'm taking a cab ride to the doctor and he gives me medical advice, I just prefer the doctors advise over the cabbie. Everyone has the right to their opinions.
  2. So what happens next year when Flus goes 11-6 ? 3-14, 7-10 then 11-6.
  3. I'll purchase two of those drafts please. I believe that's very close to going down that way. Maybe some different names but definitely the positions.
  4. So you're saying I am supposed to trust a passionate fans opinion over people that played QB and in the league . I think I'll pass. Now if you're a college or NFL scout then I will value your opinion much more but I don't think that's true. If you want a list , I'll take the time to make the list tomorrow.
  5. I heard that Williams injury will bleed into next season and could be midseason before he could start playing again, doubt Poles ain't paying for a broken player. We seen what happened to Nate Davis when his season was disrupted with his season and he wasn't even injured.
  6. So assuming Poles trades the 1 st pick, who will he take with pick 9 and the extra pick in round 2? I saying a WR and edge not in any particular order.
  7. If the argument you stated is true then it explains who is running the Bears, clearly it's Poles because Flus is still here and isn't going anywhere. So now we know Warren is strictly the business side,IE fired Stein.
  8. Okay, I understand that, what about the 30 or40 other players that support Justin? Former bears, former QBs, former coaches, you can't dismiss everybody.
  9. What I find interesting is people automatically know that Williams is a generational QB. Several signs suggest that might not be true. It's getting a draft haul , keep Justin vs he's a generational QB. Both can be wrong or both can be true. It's about the choices Poles makes.
  10. Never said any of that, I'm saying Poles wasn't hiring him so it's a wasted conversation. We can all play fantasy and pretend a existing GM is going to hire a coach and relinquish some of his power to the alpha dog , that was never going to happen, so why talk fantasy? Warren would have to overrule Poles and hire him and everything I read is he supports him. Find me a statement where Warren bad mouths Poles and we can then have this conversation.
  11. Now I understand it's stupid to disagree with you. Now on Flus, he's our coach next year so that doesn't need to be discussed anymore. So we can go over that argument one year from now. All of this cleared up in one post. Let's start doing draft talk and prospect information.
  12. I have wavered on the Justin support over the last month but I keep seeing former players and former QBs lend their support of Fields. It's hard for me to dismiss their opinion because many sports journalists and fans disagree. I valve their opinion much greater than novice opinions. I have never been in a NFL locker room but it counts for something. I valve the team players opinions more than everyone's else's and have never heard one not support Justin. I'm willing to be okay with Poles choices and believe it's probably (stay with Justin.)
  13. That in itself is where the problem comes , you say it has to meet your criteria or their argument is silly and weak. Someone shows you that their opinion has happened before but because its not a high percentage the take is ,it doesn't count. Its not 50/50 but it sure in hell ain't 95/05 either. The fact it's possible is enough of a argument to have an opinion.
  14. Harbaugh was never even in the conversation. He would steal power from Poles and could be the alpha in the room with Warren. Why would any GM give away control to a coach . People keep thinking because Harbaugh was available its an automatic that they have to hire him. They would have to throw away their plan and bow down to Harbaugh. No one will do that. You did notice they hired the coach before they hired a GM, the GM will only be a title, Harbaugh has all the power.
  15. I couldn't say if that is real or not real but there is no way to prove it, so we believe what we want to believe. I would think we would see signs of them not getting along .in the public exposure and have not seen that at all. I can see where the contrary exists where he gives total support to Poles and praises Flus. Let's say the public imagine seems they totally support each other and it probably didn't go down that way.
  16. I keep getting the impression you say it's okay to have your opinion and then turn around and say 2+2=5 meaning it's a worthless opinion. Then say no one understand what you're saying. I think everyone totally understands your side of it but it's like if they don't agree with you you keep dismissing their argument. Can we all just move on and just agree to disagree and stop rehashing the same argument over and over. No one is changing their mind on this. The Williams argument will play out as the draft process vents him. At the end he may be the Golden boy and everyone will be on the same page. But as I said before its not Fields against Williams. Poles may get an offer he can't refuse. I contend he can still keep Fields, get a draft haul, move back again and draft McCarthy to develop and satisfy everyone at the same time.
  17. Totally agree, they hired the GM and coach a day apart, clearly the GM didn't have a say in that hire. If you were Poles are you going to give away power? Hell no, no one on here would do that if they were in his shoes.
  18. It seems everyone thinks a rookie has to perform in his first year or he's a bust. History tells you most take 2 to 3 years to show their talent. With first and second rounds, that's a must, but later rounds might need more time to develop. You can't teach speed, but clearly Poles take a shine to fast players, Venus Jones for example. We will know in his second year if he gets better.
  19. I think they get a vet to play OC and draft one . Depending on their first 2 picks, not sure they take a center with a high pick. Can they get a Zach Fraiser in round 3 and grab a edge or WR in round 2? As of now, we don't have a 2nd so it's a mute point at this time. Free agency will go along way to who we draft after the first round. I think they get a FS and center in F agency and leave the high picks open for Edge, 3 T, WR, depends on a trade down or not.
  20. Actually he was let go, he didn't decide just to leave. He's a good coach, he'll find another job in a hurry.
  21. I totally understand your position, it's a well thought out opinion but you always seem to dismiss that next year could be good with Flus. His first year as a new HC was a train wreck provided by Poles getting rid of his talent on defense and not giving him tools to make the offense to be better. For Poles to change a bad cap situation and obtain draft capital, that's how he needed to do it. So in year 2 we start out slow with lots of young players. Flus has to deal with a couple coaches with bad behavior, a cancer in Claypool and several injuries. He keep the team focused and started to see improvement. So now because of his patience with the team, and players getting healthy , we start to win. So two ways to judge him, cup half empty or half full? I saw him get better, you did not, totally understand that. Poles went from a washed out UDFA to the GM of a NFL franchise. Some one gave him a shot at being a scout and here we are. He was an underdog and won. He is going to support underdogs, Flus is that underdog. Poles thinks he can be good. You don't have to agree but that decision has already been made. Now with Fields, it's not just Fields vs Williams, you win that argument, but it's a boat load of draft capital plus Fields . Poles is going to bank on what he sees will allow him to win in 2024, does a rookie help do they? We will find out in April what his decision is. I don't see a loser no matter what decision he makes. It's not just going to be passing skills. Character, team leader, hard worker are all going to come into play when you use the top pick on a QB. He may decide that a Fields with upside , a better OC, more blue chip players around him puts him in a better position to win. Or Williams is the dude and takes him and the history of the Bears might be a new storyline. I'm okay if he does that because I trust his player evaluation. If he keeps Fields , I understand that decision too. I get you don't agree with any of that, you have a good argument but the other can still have good results. His job is on the line, just as if you were the GM, you're going to do what you think is best. That's the decision he will make and live with it.
  22. Powers-Johnson is the top rated center and will go mid to late second round. He would be a great get. Not sure we use a second round pick on him, probably a edge if not taken in the first round . I think 3 rd or 4 th round is more likely when we take a center.
  23. I don't need to make the case for Flus, the person running the Bears picked Flus. Poles thinks he's a good coach. It doesn't matter that you disagree. What is mind boggling is that you think it's not possible that he can't be a good coach. You keep telling people on this site that their opinion doesn't count but yours does. Flus is the Bears coach and this year will go along way for proof one way or another. If this is a Bears forum, anyone can have their opinion and they don't need your approval. They get to say whatever they want.
  24. It would interesting to see their scouting reports on them and why they took Scott.
  25. Glad you've backing up your statement ( coaches can get better, players can get better) with factual examples. No one knows what next year brings, but I think its a winning season whether it's Fields or a draftee and Flus will finally start getting noticed for being a good coach.( IMO)
