Legette is going to be a stud., Zinter may have to sit a year because of his injury but will be worth the spot.
-
I don't think you get as much as you think to move one spot. Only stupid Ryan Pace does that. I agree with you. Flip 1 and 2, our second back, maybe#95 and a 2 next year.

I guess the no one will come here because of the HC is now a myth. Or do we need to interview more?

When you have a new team President, they bring their people in. Everyone wanted Warren to get more involved in operations and, the first thing he does, everyone complains about. That's what happens.

I like whoever Poles thinks is the best fit for the job. He's in the interviews not me, I trust his judgement and don't care who it is.

Whether you like Fields or don't, everyone posts points like iit'st references from the Bible. Fields has good and bad traits , it's his consistency that's the problem. What matters is if Poles thinks he can improve, he may keep him around, or he finds a Mahomes type in the draft , he will draft him. He's not using fan's poles to make his decisions. -
I think it was as simple as he thought he could make Justin into Rodgers.
-
Totally true , NO ONE knows what their thinking. A smart person talks to football people to learn everything you can when trying to analyze a prospect. Every person gives their opinion on every QB option available.

If they hire Kliff, it says a lot about Poles thinking process just like if we hire Roman and what it might indicate.

I listened to interviews of JJ, Brisker, DJ, and Sweat on a regular basis and you can get an impression on how truthful they speak. Easy to right off if you didn't see the interviews. People like to pretend things are no big deal if they say something they don't like and love stuff if people agree with them. The truth is , it's more about your perspective that actually paying attention to what they say. Everyone does that and none of it matters. The only thing that matters is what Poles thinks and so far the only thing we know is he thinks things are progressing well or he wouldn't have brought Flus back. The ownership turned the team over to Poles and Warren, which leads to believe it's solely on them with the decisions. Glad you realize we are still rebuilding and we're not even into year 3 so their not in tear it down mode yet. -
It only matters that he gets it right no matter what he decides.

I used to follow Lambert but he posts a lot outrageous posts and has no contact in the organization. Greg Gabriel called him out several times for outright lying on several posts.

Mooney is a free agent, that trade doesn't exist and no one's trading for EJAC, declining skills at 18.4 mil next year. Everyone knows its a good chance they cut him. I like the names you drafted. 4 draft picks for Justin may be a reach.

Of course not, Po!es is doing what he wants no matter who doesn't like it but he values leadership, hard worker, tough, team guy. It will make him think about those things when bringing someone else in. It's a temporary situation no matter who he brings in, but he will take in to count what players he respects has to say. It would be just part of the overall assessment of a new player. -
Many former players that analyze QBs, have seen improvement and think with better coaching and more weapons, think he will get better. If Poles believes that , it will affect his decision. It comes down to his breakdown of the QB prospects, if he sees another Mahomes, he's drafting him. If not, trade back and continue to build the roster. If he gets more future high picks , he has two years to decide on Justin before you have to pay him big money. I seen one mock draft that traded back with Atlanta and ended up with pick 8 and 9. He took Nabers and Jaydon Daniels. Got his second round pick and a future one. This is an option that definitely could still be in play. No one has stated Daniels is a walk in and play day one type. With Williams and Maye, you have to start right away but the rest need some time. It's just not Justin or Caleb, several options on the table. They did that in KC while he was there.

Have they fulfilled the Rooney rules yet? That will clue you in if they are done yet with the job hunt? If someone impressed them, they can stop at anytime, if they wait for a specific coach, then it will take some more time.

Long term, it won't matter but to say it has no effect is a little premature. The coaches culture is (we're in this together) creates a family atmosphere and in the beginning acceptance will take some time. The main reason Flus is back is because the team bought in to his culture. If the new QB comes in and balls out , it will be a short term situation but if he comes in here with a big ego and struggles, it will create a bad atmosphere for awhile. I have heard 6 interviews by star players and they all think Justin should stay . The latest one was JJ and he said if the coaches did better and a few more weapons , he would ball out. On the exit interviews if the whole team had that attitude, Poles and Flus will pay attention to that narrative. All of it really blows up if Justin goes somewhere else balling out and Caleb struggles. The Chargers have a talented roster and clearly somewhere along the line, they gave up on their coach. Football is an emotionally sport, hard to say how it affects the players. -
Under a better play caller with more weapons, Fields will have a good year. Chances of a rookie having a Stroud year is not likely. Poles needs to win next year, it's less risky with Justin. Williams ceiling is higher than Fields but that will take a few years.
-
The first pick in the draft will make more than Justin does this year. In 2025 his fifth year option costs 22 to 25 mil, I've seen two different numbers, so not sure which one is right. Those are two years of doable money if they keep him for that time. I still think the option is on the table of keeping Fields and drafting a QB not with the first pick.
-
We can say that's just the Bears, but they have different people running it now, so I don't think it's the same. IMO, I think fans have to have instant success or it's burn it down. I think Poles is smart and want to see how his plan turns out. Not saying he's going to be successful but he's the one they hired. I'm giving him the third year before I jump into the burn it down group. I feel that's fair, rarely does anyone rebuild a franchise in 2 years.

Chapter 6: They don't care what half of the fan base thinks.

Now that Caleb has declared for the draft, the better he looks in the pre draft process, the bigger haul we can get if we trade the pick. Also think it will have a bigger impression on whether Poles drafts him or not. Poles is still in the rebuilding process so I don't think it's a given he takes a QB with that pick. Not sure either way he decides is a bad decision, either choice is going to be a positive for the future. I don't have a big ego so if he doesn't do what I want, I'll be okay with it. He's the one that got hired as the GM, they didn't even consider my application.

It's okay, we all don't have to agree on everything. It's just my opinion.

The OC choose will be a sign of what decision he goes at QB.
