  1. Urban Meyer was that college Coach and failed in his first year. They can stop trying to look like they're not leaving any stone unturned and just grab one of the front line coaches and stop the circus. Now if we don't get Vrabel, Johnson, or Carroll, maybe it's the right thing to do
  2. So is this Warren's influence in the process? Last time we had a limited number and George gave Poles 3 to choose from. It seems like their they are trying to find the diamond in the rough instead of picking out of the top 5 candidates and buying one. Vrabel seems most likely to go to NE because of his history. Johnson probably knows who he wants but we can't get him until after the playoffs. So are we going to process our way out of the top choices?
  3. Poles is doing interviews, he's not being fired. That was last weeks conversation.
  4. It seems, with Warren input, they're trying to find a diamond in the rough like McConnell was hired in Minnesota. Just go get the best candidate and not screw around. For me: Vrabel - Johnson -David Shaw ( the more I read about him the more I like him). I would say Gruden but doesn't appear to have been contacted.
  5. Next week he becomes available, his contract with Dallas runs out then. If they denied access probably means he's staying in Dallas.
  6. That just shows you on how much support from all other positions affected his play. His great rookie yr was because his OL stayed healthy.
  7. Chase is bad against the run (31) tot and only 5.5 sacks. Probably not a good idea from someone going to want 10-12 mil a year.
  8. I think we should offer the OC job to the GB OL coach and hire a play caller to the room. He does amazing work with the OL .
  9. Not sure of this year but usually there's 6 to 12 blue chip players and then the 30 to 40 fall in the next tier. I like you think the more players the better if the blue chip players are gone.
  10. The more input you get on different coaches perspective, good or bad, can help you going forward. All candidates not getting HC jobs, like you said are available to work here in a different job if the new HC desires that.
  11. Hopefully this time is different, I think they will grab a high level name and not the Browns or McCarthy. Also I wouldn't want Ron Rivera either..
  12. The draft room will have a better read on prospects. I'm not informed enough to know who is. We should be able to get 3 first day starters or at least start early in the year and the 72 pick a contributor.
  13. I read we have 10-41-42-72. That should be 4 high level contributors day 1.
  14. I don't like the massive list of candidates, and if McCarthy comes here I will take a hiatus on being a bear's fan.
  15. What we have seen is his late game ability to put us in a position to win despite the chaos around him. That's huge for a rookie. The right Coach will make him more consistent. I think him coming back and winning in GB boasts his confidence also. With all we can say good or bad, one thing is for sure, he's a tough SOB. A good trait for a QB. His ability to extend plays is also a great trait. Better runner that I originally thought.
  16. I have a lot of Packers fans friends and I get a whole off-season to screw with. For a bad season, I have a consolation prize.
  17. I'll take a win and drop one spot.
  18. That's a good season statically for a rookie but carrying the first pic in the draft stigma, it seems off. Has a bright future but it's not set in stone that he's generational.
  19. The Byard hit was worth watching this game by itself.
  20. He has some upside but not as a HC. Carroll, Gruden, Johnson or Vrabel would all be fine with me. No one knows how they will do until it happens.
  21. I heard the announcer say Byard is third in the league in tackling amongst all DBs. I didn't realize his contributions this year was very good.
  22. No kidding. In a league I Ied for most of the year and ended up 3rd, I took Anthony Richardson who bombed and took Mayfield as my #2 QB, it worked out.
  23. Poles carry responsibility for a lot of things that's happened but don't think his bosses are holding him responsible. I think if they were getting rid of him they would have already done it. So we have to hope he has learned from mistakes made. Ryan Pace totally screwed up here and went to work in ATL as president of football operations and seems to be helping them turn things around there. People learn from mistakes. The key is the coach choice.
