The elite QBs are Mahomes, Burrow, Jackson ,Allen, maybe Herbert, Hurts , Prescott. Im not sure there is 10, some that may get there but definitely not yet.

I agree with everything you said, we are in the building process , we are not there yet.

Its okay not to like Fields and point out his faults, he has some but you seemed obsessed with trying to make him look bad. If he does something good, you try to twist it into looking bad. He hits a pass down field, and your comment is, he missed his first read. ( or something like that). I dont think Fields has a long future with us but everything you say is in absolutes, he will never get better, he held the ball to long on that throw, he doesnt throw in rhythm .Everything you complain about he has shown he can do, the problem is his consistency.

So you are using the Browns game as your example that teams has adjusted to his running? His last 4 games was 30, Browns, then 58-59-104 before that. Those numbers are way above average for QBs. He is more cautious on his runs because as you have even said, he has to aware of constantly getting hit. He goes down when he could clearly get more yds on most of his carries. Its not that defenses have adjusted to him. The Browns are the best D in the league and that's your example. He is second only to Jackson in rushing in the league for QBs. Hurts should go ahead of him tonight. He missed 4 games and is third in the league. Nice try

I agree with almost everything you said, my comment was, why do a lot of former QBs support Fields and mentioned Warner. It was in the form of a question , not a statement that Warner's opinion is absolute. When i try to form an opinion I view many and form my own copulation. I see his faults but am not yet in the mode of dump him, he's trash. First of all, he is still playing ,I figure I might as well do what Poles is doing and watch him play. The evaluation is not just if Justin is a SB QB, it has to do with the evaluation of the options in the draft. It still has to do with our drafting position. If Carolina wins a few more, Williams and Maye could not be an option. If in Poles opinion, the draft able QBs are more of a risk than bringing back Fields , he will do it. He's not changing QBs just to bring in a potential worse one for sake of change. Justin is not a top 5 QB but he is also not bottom 5 either. with good coaching he could be a capable QB. im not saying that means Poles thinks he's going to take us to a SB but he will bring someone in that might be capable of developing and keep Fields one more yr or trade him and go get Browning. No one knows what he is going to do so we keep our opinions until things happen.

I agree with you on Warner he is a straight up guy. they have more experience to assess a player than we do, it doesnt mean they're always right . I dont think any of them getting paid for evaluations are just lying to everyone , people like that dont last long, its easy to tell if someone is not being honest. So i guess the one's that think Fields isnt any good are not to be believed anymore over the ones that like him. I plumbed for 50 yrs and one time argued with an inspector over a code issue. come to find out he was on the board that wrote the code. But stupid me thought I was smarter than him, experience matters.

At this stage, we at least need to get one of them, which is doable, plus build other areas of the team. I think a DL is also a priority, we add a stud edge or 3 T , the level of this defense goes to the top.

That argument doesnt apply to next year, he makes less money than a top 5 pick does. If Poles drafts his man then dont pick up the option and give your new QB a year to develop. If he doesnt , pay the 25 and give yourself another year to find him.

For right now ( whoever it is) would you choose Chargers with a Herbert, Slater, Bosa, Ekeler, Allen or Chicago ? After the top guy is gone its going to be a crap shoot. Nagy (an offensive mind) was hired because that is what modern NFL demands. That didnt work out. Its about finding the right coach and we will never find that if he only has 2 yrs to win.

AG its bash Fields day , you're just trying to be difficult. I always stated we need to see the last 7 games to get a good read on Justin , so far the arrow is pointing down. The judgement has to do with who to replace him with also. If the coaches are any good. It's not just dumbing Fields in this scenario. I liken this to wanting a new car and sell the car before I buy another one. That might force me to buy a new car without properly checking out the new one. Or getting something worse because it looks good in the showroom. Lets figure it out before we sell, it may be the best option.

As it stands now, you might get a 3rd round pick if you trade him on draft day. You might get more during the season when half of the starters get injured. BUT it gives you time to see what the drafted QB can become. If he's ready trade Justin, if not you ride Justin, hopefully with a coach that designs a scheme to fit his traits. As you keep building the team.

Ja'Tre Carter is still on the roster and Davis isnt going anywhere with an 11 mil cap hit next yr. Add another center and guard and let the best players win. Add another OT to compete with Braxton and the loser is the swing tackle. We need 3 if not 4(2 OCs) We need to add to the OL every year to keep the depth up to par . That is another reason we need to trade the #1 pick for more capital to keep building the team. If Poles can work his magic again we can add 7 or 8 quality top 100 draft picks to the roster. Teams keep exposing the OC spot and everything breaks down. It takes 3-4 yrs to rebuild the roster and its only year 2.

Why are you using Watson for your example ? He is not very good anymore, Fields is not going to be an elite QB, yet that is everyone's comparison. He will one day be a more than competent QB, once he gets with a coach like the one that works with Lamar Jackson, and guess what, he got better. We will end up drafting a QB every 2 year and then watch the team Justin plays for go to the playoffs every year. I want a better QB but which one is that ? There might be one in this draft but I dont think its Williams. Im on the plan to trade the first pick, keep Justin and draft a QB. If Poles likes the QB that much, let Fields play the year out. He will be trying to prove himself and we let a QB sit one more yr and start in 2025.

This is way complicated, as you said who is coming here with a 2 yr contract with the GM, not the most desirable situation with a GM that abandoned his coach in two yrs? Its almost bring it all back or get rid of everybody. Does anybody thinks Poles fires himself?

Justin isnt an elite player, probably would have a hard time finding 10 élite QBs in the league but that is your measuring stick? Unless Poles finds an elite QB, we are going to have this conversation every 2 yrs. How about just a QB that we can win with and sometimes he's the reason. Against the Browns Prudy 55.3 QBR, Jackson 67.8 QBR, Lawrence 65.2 here's what elite QBs did against that defense and they all lost.

We will progress forward and if EJAC is back , it will be on a restructuring of his contract. That's only if Poles hasn't been able to replace him. A new FS, another edge player, add another 3T. We can be a dominant defense.

My first reaction to yesterday was to burn everything down but after listening to tons of people evaluate the game, I have settled down. We played the #1 defense in the league and it's not even close. We dominated the game for 3 quarters and then a handful of plays shut us down. Had Tonyan not dropped an easy catch, had the refs called the Brown's end line TD properly, no TD ( his second foot was half out of bounds). Even after several bad plays, we could have won with the last play of the game. We are a team in the second year of a 3-4 year conplete rebuild but for some reason the Bears are expected to win. Most people said the most important factor in this season is to see if Fields is the LT answer at QB and for us to keep getting better. Everyone predicted 5-8 wins except my optimism of 9-10 wins. We are right on track with he expectations, we are getting better and know the answer on Justin. I don't think new regimes are brought in and have to be successful in the first 2 years when they told you it will take 4 but everyone is going nutzo because we aren't instantly a winner. Not sure that's a fair assessment. We are better, 6-8 wins probably, and see some players getting better. I think everybody knows we need an upgrade at QB if Poles thinks there's one out there. Fields isn't terrible, he has some good traits but because he's not the next Andrew Luck , we should throw him away. Poles will get another QB but not sure he will also just throw Justin away when he doesn't have to make that decision yet. Poles needs to start winning, next year. What gives him the best chance to do that. I'm not sure it's a rookie QB but, it's his job on the line , not mine. Is it a new coach, not sure he is ready to burn it down in year 2. Definitely see Gretsy leaving but not sure Flus will be gone. If everyone wants to blame Flus for his bad, we also need to give him credit for his good. He has a part of the defense being better whether people want to admit it or not. I think we are right on track with Poles schedule of when we are good again.

If Poles changes coaches, we will have a new QB. Unless the new coach wants Fields, which is unlikely. Like you said 2-2 in games, not sure anything he does changes Poles mind . A few things may change the scenario. 1) that maybe we dont get the first pick 2) Poles evaluation of the rookie QBs turns bad.

As you laid it out is the best option .Get picks, a QB prospect, and keep Fields.

i think you are right about Mooney, after the injury last yr he hasnt been the same. Poles expected him to regain the form he had before the injury and he didnt. He had Claypool and neither of them worked out. Drafted Scott and he hasnt been productive. He dropped the ball in the WR room and will add some more in the draft . Tonyan is a bust, if he caught that deep pass, we would probably be celebrating instead of searchng for answers why we lost.

This is his fifth yr option yr. i very well cant show the difference on a future option next yr. The website is only in real time. Im showing you what happening if a 5th yr option player would have been traded in his yr. If cut, the club eats it, if traded his salary is transferred to the new team. So in Justin's case you have to place the option on him by May in 2024. In 2025 if the rookie is doing well and you decide to trade Justin , you dont eat any cap.

Just no TOs and a 8 minute drive. Remember its the top D in the league.
