  1. So how long does anyone think it will take Poles to fire or announce he's bringing Flus back? I think if he doesn't announce it right away, odds are Flus will be back. Whether he brings back Flus or not, fire Getsy tomorrow. We won't find out about Fields until the draft day, no logic to show his hand before the draft.
  2. Now if he gets a better coach for the job , go for it , but is a newbie going to be better? Harbaugh , or A vet coach? You could lose the locker room if you make a bad choice.
  3. I agree with that. I trust Poles knows what he's doing.
  4. Last year when the Carolina GM choose Young. Of course he is already fired.
  5. Is there somewhere I said Justin was better? I don't recall that statement.
  6. Lance wasn't A starter, he had a 7 th round draft pick take his job. Not sure what other people think but the GM survey said a 3 rd was more likely. There are examples of a lot of bad trades in the league, so far Poles seems aware of what he can get but he will definitely be starting in the league next year.
  7. Poles is going to do what he thinks is best, he could care less what we think. I support whatever decision he makes even if it's not what I thought he was going to do. I think he is a smart guy whether he brings anyone back or gets new people. I just want a winning team.
  8. You may be right, but someone will think they know how to use Fields better than the great Getsy. They will not base their opinion of Fields on one game. Smart people know the play calling sucks and Fields is under pressure at a high rate. They will take a chance.
  9. My comment was no one knows, I never said no one isn't allowed an opinion, they just don't matter.
  10. He's starting somewhere next year, it may not be here. No ones trading a second round and sit him with all the mediocre QB rooms in the league.
  11. I like that draft but think edge will be addressed with one of the two first picks. Our OL and DL did not control the line of scrimmage. We are one pass rusher away from being a top 5 defense, offense still needs rebuilding.
  12. I'm not saying he will keep Flus , im saying he looks at it differently than fans do.
  13. His plan was not for two years, why does everyone think a GM that is rebuilding through the draft is going to get that done in 2 years, that's silly. Next year is the year of judgement.
  14. So you take a job and tell the owners it will be a 3-4 rebuild. It's the end of yr 2. We improved as a team as he has his answers at the QB position, he's not talking so we will find out on draft day. Anyone that's tells you they know what he's going to do is lying.
  15. We just ain't good enough, he's going to keep building the team and will decide who stays and who goes, he don't care what we think. 7-10 is better than 3-14, next year Poles has to win or his job is in jeopardy.
  16. There's no more show to see , now Poles makes his decisions accordingly to what makes the team better. It doesn't matter what any of the fans want. It's what he thinks is the best way to get to a playoff run. Poles controls the future.
  17. There's so many sports journalists making shit up, it's hard to tell who actually has inside information. Poles will never let anyone know what he has planned except maybe Warren. He's tight with information, as he should be.
  18. Whether Fields comes back or not a big game helps his trade stock also. No one should ever want the bears to lose to the Packers.
  19. When I look at Justin's growth, the first year was a total waste. They were going to not play him all year, no first team reps and when he got thrown in against the Browns, 9 sacks. Anyone think that wouldn't effect everything you do the rest of the year. Much more fair to measure with his last two years.
  20. As Doug Buffone once put it ( run the ball and stop the run). That applies to today's game plus TOs, are the keys to winning. Is it 16 interceptions in the last 6 games for us?
  21. It's great that Stroud played well, but clearly the majority of experts thought Young would be the prize of the draft. This years can't miss QB is Williams but they're seems to be some questions on intangibles. Experts never get fired for judging the QBs wrong, they just move on to next years group but GMs that listen to them do. If Poles finds the next great QB, Im all in on that guy, I trust him to make the best choice for our future. If he thinks draft choices and Fields are the best choice, I'm all in on that too. I don't think we have any bad choices, it's just one will be better than the other.
  22. That's a new name, they can keep Flus and change the direction of the offense with a new coordinator. Both wouldn't have to go.
  23. When he was hired, his main function was to take care of the stadium, he said that in his first interview but said he wanted to get more involved in the every day operation. The title of President is prescribed to what ever job it is stated. His expertise is not in personal or running a team it was always about the financial structure of a team. I've plumbed my whole life , I'm hiring an accountant and turned over the business operations with no experience, that would be a bad business plan. You let him learn as he goes and maybe down the road let him take care of those affairs. No way any organization is hiring a new GM and coach and then the next year hire a President and expect him to burn it down and start over. His influence will be shown once the company wants a new GM and go a different direction , that's when he will take control of the whole operation.
  24. Love could end up being good but he's never going to be a tier 1 QB . None of us want to see that happen so we don't want to see any positives he shows. I think anything that Love shows is a product of having a good coach than actual talent. Just like any QB, you keep pressure on him, he doesn't play well.
  25. If we win Sunday there is no question Flus will be back. Poles picked him as the coach out of several candidates then stated his plans to be a good team in a 4 year plan. He gutted the roster in the first year that limited his wins. Poles won't hold that against him. IF we win Sunday he will be 6-2 in the last 8 games that doesn't send the message of ( fire me). Of course he's not perfect, but is learning as a newish HC. Poles will admit his plans have failed firing a coach in year 2. I don't think he does that. As far as Getsy, his job is in jeopardy but still good be brought back for continuity. 8-9 finishing 6-2 , im not sure anyone looks as that as a bad season. Now if we get blown out, all that good will may be thrown out the window. It's a close call on if he stays or goes. Warren will get involved but he's not there yet. His experience is as a lawyer , never has been in personal or day to day operations. The stadium is his main focus, when that's done, you will see him more involved. last time I checked, we don't even know where it's going.
