I think they will switch the IDL around. Not with Billings but with Dexter, Pickens and J. Jones. They brought in Roy but that was to elevate the bottom of the roster. The only true NT is Billings but for sake of finding minutes for Dexter and Pickens, having them all play at 3 T doesn't seem likely. I think they only keep 4 DTs because of the need for STs players, they use the fifth spot at DT somewhere else. Remember Green and Walker can slide inside.

To whom it may concern. I quit with cable or Direct TV several yrs ago. I just have the internet and an antenna . I do a couple streaming services. The only NFL games I dont get are on ESPN. Last yr I subscribed to NFL+. It was 40 a year and I got every primetime games, and access to non area games on all devices but not TV. This yr NFL+ premium for 80 a yr allows you to watch the NFL network, The RedZone and access to all games being played on all devices plus TV. Can watch all games in reruns and access to all 22 narrative games. I use to pay 140 a month, now my TV and internet with a couple streaming services is 60 a month. 80 for the yr seems like a good deal for me.

So Jenkins is a cream puff? If you've referring to being injury prone, it hasn't been good, but as as playing football he kicks ass.

YN sure isnt a very big guy. 6'2" 246 lbs. I think they have to high end TEs, the next two will be blockers, Lewis and the new guy?

No matter how much the roster has been upgraded, 2 things control our fate for the year. Justin Fields breakout season and limited injuries. We can get by with a few starters getting injured but the core players need to be healthy for most of the year. If we can stay healthy, 9 - 10 victories seem doable and if Justin hits his 4000 yards passing game, try 11 - 12 victories.
-
Agree with that, the bottom 10 has been upgraded.

I think Terrell Smith could play S if needed, may end up being the starter at CB. He's gotten snaps there. I think Hicks can give us decent minutes but definitely thin at S. A J Thomas got some snaps last year, he may stick and Williamson goes to the practice squad.
-
70% of their snaps are in nickel so only 2 LBers will be on the field at a time. I think it comes down to STs which they are more likely to keep the extra LB or edge instead of RB or WR.

I agree a OC might be a surprise high pick. I think we are fine this yr but (unless Kramer becomes a dude) it will be a need next yr.

I think the narrative has changed for Poles, yes, he is building a team but I think his rebuild has accelerated with the talent he has been able to assembly. There will be some injuries on the OL over the coming season. Is it better to have a vet or turn to a young player for development ? If he thinks we can win now, I think he stays with his best option and not worried about saving on the salary cap. We have enough to get thru this year. I think he still could add a vet OT instead of Borom or Leatherwood being an option, inside is in good shape but OTs are weak in depth.
-
I think you're spot on. The questions will be if they need another spot on the Oline, or if they end up wanting to keep Pettis. Buddy Johnson could make the practice squad. If they keep Gipson, Lewis could still do the practice squad. There will not be any surprise cuts because they can still play with the practice squad.
-
Definitely a upgrade over last yr. I think in next yrs draft he adds 2 pass rushes with the first 3 picks and keeps building thru the draft.
-
Maybe Vildor but I dont see Patrick going anywhere. He did not pan out his first yr but the tape is still there for why Poles wanted him. Plus backup OC and can play either OG position. Poles stays steady with not handing out contracts that kill us down the road. He is putting draft picks out there and fills in with vet depth. I think we will look back on this year and have added 10 core players.

Its amazing to think Poles gets a blue chip edger rusher this late in the offseason. Either Poles is lucky or he clearly knows what he is doing.

Poles not stopping, signs Marcedes Lewis, new TE3 locked in
Stinger226 replied to adam's topic in Bearstalk
He's a TE that can still block. Don't expect him to get slot of targets. As a third TE will be better than who we have. -
Lots of ? on defense but I would say it's definitely upgraded by way of talent. Now they need to go out and show what they are capable of. If they can stop the run, the pressure will on the offense to be able to pass. The middle of the field should be taken away with Gordon coming into his own and Edmunds locking down. They now have to worry about YN , it should make the middle venerable to the big guys and their power.

There is a history of players seeking a long term contract of having an upscale year. Many of them are on this team. Some just don't have the talent but Poles signs players with upside . He will hit more than he misses.
-
We are in nickel defense 70% of the time. I suspect he gets at least 50% of the snaps. Greg Gabriel talked about him and stated he's not terrible against the run. The perception he is comes the the great PFF website rating. He's not a team leader but he's not a cancer either. It will take awhile for him to become a hits player but he does make opposing OCs worry about him. Adds to the overall strength of the team in the DBs and ability of Wright and Edmunds to play pass defense. From videos, he seems to play the LDE spot most of the time, same as Walker.

Awesome, heard Dave Wannsted mention in an interview that they were close this morning.
-
I like the idea of talented WRs are making the DBs better and talented DBs are making the WR room better. Worth the watch.

As we praise the additions to the OL this year, the players that were here have been working to get better. Leatherwood, Jones, Carter, Patrick, Borom, Eiselen. This coaching staff gives me the impression they are developing players, something I really havent been noticeable in the past regime. As far as metrics, they have specifically designed the players workouts for each player. I think we will see the due diligence of a good coaching staff.
