I agree to a point, but moving to 17 still gets you a blue chip OT, If it falls the way predicted, Brandon Thorn has him as the 4 th rated OT and could be pro bowl elite OT. Plus we get an extra pick with 49. If none of the second round or third round don't end up being blue chip, red would be fine. Above average starters in Poles rating system. We already got one blue chip player out of this draft in CJ Moore. That would be 2 blue chip and 5 red , that's a good draft. If we got this draft. I figured Spears and Stromberg as future starters to go along with the first 4 picks. Plus an extra number one next year.

Harrison and AA are day one starters. Harrison was Stills is a high upside get . Stromberg is a sleeper, fits everything Poles looks for in a OC. Was there a CB of value at 64? I don't think we take 2 WRs in this draft. Wilson is a sleeper. Like all the names but never heard of Sims. Other than WR at 64 , I totally think this is how the draft will go down. Heavy in the lines with a WR, RB, and TE.

That's why I think taking Mauch in the second would be ideal. He can play all 5 spots on the line. Draft a OT later them let them fight over right tackle spot.

I think Kancey is going top 20, so he has to be our first pick. Where A A probably is a 2 nd to early 3 rd pick. So how much of a difference is the grade for where we draft them. Most people have Carter as the first or second ranked pick. If we got him at 9, that would be huge value. Poles definitely looks at RAS and AA has a 9.72 RAS score. So AA is a better value at pick 53, than Kancey would be at 9. Greg Gabriel goes over the draft process and mentions both these players.

There are a few plug and play OCs in this draft. Not sure we will grab one of them with a high pick. I think we are more likely to take one at pick 103 , OO, Stromberg, Scruggs. I do think we are in play to take Mauch with a second round pick. Who literally can play every OL spot. Which would start at RT or OC. I can see Poles doing that to add attitude and flexibility for the OL. Then take a OT in the 3 rd round ( Freeland) that might not be ready to start early. The first 4 picks would be2 OL and 2 DL. I think a perfect scenario.

Tough question. Poles and Flus value length, so they would have to get off of their traits list to take him. Philly needs a DT and they are a team with the roster to be able to take a chance with. AA arms are 33 7/8 with 4.49 speed. He would be a better fit at 3 T with those traits and could be gotten somewhere in the second round.

I think other than the Cardinals, anyone of those teams could pick a QB and that spot could be a trade back scenario. I think all 4 QBs are gone plus Anderson. That leaves 3 teams to pick Wilson and Carter. Probably gone. Do not count out a GM taking Hooker with a high pick, probably not top ten thou. I tink we could see Robinson, JSN, or A CB picked in that range also. If Philly wants Robinson, they have extra picks to trade up to get him. I think Carter makes it to us.

I think Carter is probably the only player worth picking at 9 on that list. Most would be trade back selections depending on how far we go back. Or later round picks .Any of the DEs that can play 3 T , would just be rotational at both positions getting them a full time number of snaps. I think unless Carter or DE Wilson drop, their our pick. Otherwise it's OT or trade back.

Since Jenkins have been with the Bears he practiced at LT, then RT, got switched to RG. I don't think it matters much to him about where he plays. He's never outwardly complained about switching anytime Like AZ stated Davis is the vet and next to a rookie would work the best.

Agree with everything. Also remember the top of the WR group in the draft is not rated high. There may be a few that end up being good but there's no Waddle or Jamar Chases in this draft. Claypool will easily make more of a contribution than any rookie would have. I think whether we draft a center or not, we will be ok at center. Whitehair, Patrick and Kramer are much better than what we had last year. You can speak about all the help you get for Fields but Field's second year in this scheme will be leaps and bounds better than last year. Don't discount how well the running game will be that keep defenses honest in the passing game. The defense has a way to go but the offense is 90% there.

If he drops, Jalen Carter is the prize as a 3 T. Other options: Lucas Van Ness Calijah Kancey Bryan Bresee. Watch a lot of tape , he consistently gets in the backfield A Adebawore Keion White Tuli Tuipulotu Keeanu Benson. Not perfect but would give you more than Justin Jones Zach Harrison has the size and speed to do it, not the fit Zach Pickens more of a rotational guy but could fill in Isaiah McGuire. More of a rotational guy not idea Byron Young/Ala. Could be a sleeper Moro Ojomo could be a sleeper

For possible trade back, the top WR will be available The top OL could be available B Robinson could be the prize Levis could be there To get the most value out of a trade back, someone needs to want a player. 10 Philly-- DL or Robinson? 11 Titans--Levis, top WR , OL 12 Houston--Robinson, top WR 13 Jets OL, Edge 14 NE-- OL, Levis, Robinson, top WR 15 GB--OL, WR, Edge 16 Wash--Robinson, Levis, 17 Pitt-- OL, Defense WR 18 Lions--TE, CB 19 TB--Robinson, Levis, Edge Teams with extra picks in the first 3 rounds Lions, Houston,Jets, Pitt, Philly Who jumps up to take a high end player? It has to be for a QB or A player for a team ready to contend.

It goes like this: if Carter is there at 9 , they take him , the highest rated player in this draft. It looks like a risk to us because we don't have all the information. But I think they will know the work ethic and mental issues aren't strong enough to say no. 1B will Anderson won't be there. I have read everything I could find on Wilson and the majority of experts don't see a health problem going forward. He's supposed to work out in one week. If Wilson drops to 9 and no Carter, I think it's a no brainer. The third option will be to trade back. I think they take their highest rated player DL or OL on their board. In the teens, ( Bruglers big board). Lucas Van Ness, Nolan Smith, Paris Johnson Jr, Broderick Jones, Myles Murphy, all fall in that range. Just depends how they rated them. According to Brugler, Van Ness and and Paris are the highest rated. I threw Nolan Smith in there. He doesn't fit our scheme but read some scouts say if he wasn't injured this year, he would be rated higher than Anderson, which is crazy. A situational pass rusher doing 12-14 sacks a year? Would we do that?

What I like about Poles, he doesn't over pay for a player because of need. He had a value on McG but didn't want to spend 17/5 on a very average RT. He brings in young players that could be part of the core if they work out. Even thou he had a lot of money to spend, he was patient to get his value. The WR room was trash last year, he actually fixed it with a mediocre free agent class and no sure things in the draft class. I think he will get the OL fixed thru the draft and the second phase of free agency.

Poles has to try to balance of filling every need he has. How much better are the first tier than the second tier? I think all 32 teams have different value boards on players. Paris Johnson Jr, Peter Skoronski, Broderick Jones in first tier ( IMO ) Poles may have the same opinion or just because they are the highest rated players at a position, may not be sure bets to him or different values. He may have Broderick Jones rated the highest OL. He may have Darren Wright rated in that group. 2 nd tier. Darrell Wright, Anton Harrison, Dawand Jones, Matthew Bergeron, Cody Mauch, Jaelyn Duncan, Blake Freeland He mat have Paris or Brodrick rated at 8.9 and Wright at 8.5 , thinking all could start. If he rates Cody at 8.4 Blake as a 8.3. My point if he thinks he can get one or two of them at 53 instead of with the 9 th pick, does he pull the trigger with a higher rated DL instead? He could move up with the 61 and 64 as part of a trade up if he has to. We just don't know how he has them rated. My take: moves back in the teens and takes Broderick Jones, and gets extra pick or picks to maneuver to get a DL he might want. I have read a lot about Blake Freeland and he seems like the perfect pick that Poles would fall in love with that would be gettable in the second round. 37" vertical jump at 6'8" 302 lbs. Was a TE than can bend and move .Even if he has to be developed, he can always give him help with scheme, RB chip or with a TE. If he sees a high ceiling like some of the first tier, I can see him do that.

No way any of these scenarios actually happens.

We have to expand the offense to feed 3 productive WRs, 2 TEs and RBs, V Jones . You bring in a rookie hat will just tip over the apple cart. This off season will allow our existing players time to acclimate to Justin Fields. You draft JSN, this year it will be bad value as the 4 th WR . you need 9 th pick to start.

I totally thinks he trades back 3-10 spots, unless Carter or Wilson drop to 9. Anywhere from an extra early 2 nd or 3 rd round. Gives us an extra 40 to 64 pick. If we drop 10 spots (TB) , in that range Kancey or Warren comes into play. Maybe Lucas Van Ness is still around. Then 4_more picks in top 64 players. We fill every hole we have left with even a CB throw in the mix. Using Dane Buglers top 100 19- Warren- RT 50-J M Schmitz- OC 53-Tuli Tuipulotu- edge 61-A Adwbawore-3T 64-Julius Brents- CB

Obviously we could use upgrades, IMO, RT and DT are the spots we fill that is the floor of being able to get by with. Close third is Edge. With 4 top 64 picks, I think we fill all all neediest spots. I think another CB will be brought in but I think we can get by with current personnel.

I find it interesting that a player that didn't play much last year is getting such high acclaim. Isn't there some injury questions? Especially top 10. I don't think he goes top15.

Its upgrades the rotational players. Still need a stud Edge and DT. Draft time will fix that.

We acquired two WRs this season by trade. Why go after Moore instead of getting another first round pick thrown into the deal, if you were going to draft a possible stud at 9? That's because their not using that pick on a WR. We don't run 4 WR sets very often. So one of the good assets is going to be a backup. That was never his intention. He's not drafting a WR at 9.

Other than draft one stud on the DL, I wouldn't have any problem is all his 4 th round and higher were all OL picks. 4 OL 1 DL 2 OTs, 1 OG, and 1 OC.
