They are thinking more long term but also have a cheap Justin Fields for two more years. Thinking two draft classes and a few strategic free agent moves could put us as a playoff contender in 2024.
-
That would be two extra top 55 picks and could draft Tyree Wilson at that spot. Would you guys do that?, 6-18-53-55

With the sake of moving down a couple times ask from Indy to throw in Buckner for the 1 spot and then trade with Carolina for 4 and ask them to throw in Burns in the deal. A front line of Rookie, Buckner, rookie, Burns might not be to bad. You eliminate the growing pains of a bunch of rookies in the DL. Would you trade with Detroit to get 6, 48, 81 and a first next year?

I listened to the Score today and they had some interesting takes. With Payne gone and Hargrave to old, they talked about asking for Buckner as a throw in for the first pick. He will be 29 on March 17th. He is one year younger than Hargrave but he has two years left on his contract with no guaranteed money at 20 mil a year.. If you sign Hargrave you will have to sign a minimum of 3 years at at least the same. Let's say both have strong years for the next two, you eliminate the big dollar spend on the third yr of Hargrave at the age of 33. You can move on from Buckner at 32 if need be. Bring in a lower draft pick to groom to take over in 2 years.

In Poles first draft he turned 5 picks into 11 picks and got 4 starters out of the draft plus Jack Sanborn was in that class also . He knows what he's doing. Although it didn't work out, he went after Brian Allen, Ryan Bates in free agency. Backup plan was Patrick. None of those ending up panning out but we see what he wanted to do. He clearly didn't like Jenkins as a OT but stayed with him to find a spot for him. Jenkins was the 4 th ranked guard in the NFL according to PPF ( something to compare players). Even if Jones is an average LT, he scored big as a 5 th round pick. I can't wait to see what he does with arguably the best situation ever for a GM.

They could still pull it at any time if a QB opportunity pops up, although unlikely to happen. I don't think that Hargrave is an option because in our window to be good, 2024-2025 Hargrave may not be effective at his age. It has to be Tremont Jones or maybe Kyle Allen.

Not sure a OG is best player available in the top 12.

I had one mock draft on PFN that I traded back 4 times and still ended up Wilson and Bresee . 10 picks in the top 103 and 4 extra 2024 first round picks. To bad none of those are realistic. That would be an excellent draft.

luke Steckel has left the Titans , the former TE coach , to take the assistant OL coach with the Bears.

Carter Anderson Tyree Wilson Devon Weatherspoon Jason Smith Njigba Lukas Van Ness Dalton Kincaid Drew Sanders Luke Musgrave Darnell Wright Cody Mauch Mazi Smith Tuli Tuipulototu Felix Anudike-Uzomah Derick Hall Will McDonald Jaeylin Duncan Jack Campbell Steve Avila Joe Tippman Nathaniel Dell Sydney Brown Adetomiwa Adebawore My fingers are getting tired, there was a few more.

I think Poles knows what to do. Him and Cunningham came from good organizations. If he wants Carter or Anderson he won't move back past 4. If he gets the mother load , he will surprise us. I think at a minimum to move one spot, we get a # 2 , pick 34, and a # 1 next year. For # 4 it should be a little spicer. An extra 2023 pick, an extra. 2024 pick plus a second round and the first from next year of course. What if we drop to 7 or 9 ?
-
As far as mock drafts go, usually around a hit of 40% of picks in the first round is what the best at it do . The top 10 will have a lot of D line in it , the Oline is not valued in the top 10.
-
You addressed needs but doubt is Wypler is the OL we end up with.
-
As much as a 2024 1 st rounder is valuable, It does nothing to get better this year. Concentrate on value this year and just get someone to throw it in.
-
I think Skoronski plays OG in the NFL so picking him with the first pick seems unrealistic to me unless we move back in the teens. I also they don't see a WR with the first pick. The first pick will be a DL .
-
Personally, I think a bidding war escalates the value we will receive.
-
Seen a Chat Sports- Houston version. They stated the trade for # 1 would cost # 2--A 2023 3rd round -- 2024 1st rounder ( Cleveland). But we have to throw in a 2023 5th rounder. You guys think that is a fair trade? I think it's a joke myself. I think it will be # 2 , pick 33, 5 th round pick, 2024 1st rounder. What say you?

So who else does Poles bring back of our own free agents? DHC, Patrick Scales, Matt Adams, Admin Watts, Trevon Wesco, Blasingame. David Montgomery 3 years-- 19.5 mil.
-
Mustipher is already gone, he's a RFA, Patrick would need to be cut. He won't be gone until Poles replaces him. I think our free agents that Poles wanted back will be signed soon or he probably won't be bringing them back.

Was listening to a podcast, and someone mentioned the name, Parris Campbell. He has 4.31 speed, 6' 208 lbs. Injury free last year had 63 catches. OTC suggests a salary around 8-10 mil. What do you think? Not that it matters but is from Ohio State.
-
as much as I think he's the best WR in the draft, don't think they go anything other than the OL or DL with high pick. If they drop to the teens there will be choices .
-
He compares to all the big WRs in this draft. Quentin Johnson and Chase Claypool. are clones. CC is 4.2 , QJ is 4.3_ speed.
-
Angelo Blackson was released today. He had a avoidable year but still on the rorster. Also they resigned Dieter Eiselen. Do they have a plan for him? He keeps hanging around. He can play both OG and OC. Can he earn a starter spot?
-
I think one of them will stand out but that should be a minimum line for all 3 . Also I expect V Jones to make a contribution. I think Poles adds a medium priced vet and drafts one in middle rounds.
-
I don't think there's any sure thing WRs in the draft like last year. Probably only a few that may turn into number ones, just not sure who. Therefore someone building thru the draft isn't going to give up draft capital to do that. Now next year, Harrison is that type of WR, you trade up for. We should have ammo to do that.
