He's just a core ST player that is a depth piece at RB. The key here is good in pass protection.

Poles is saving money for Orlando Brown.
-
I think Poles is watching his spending maybe there will be a Orlando Brown sighting soon. He was the best OL free agent.
-
After one day of free agency and the bears not overpaying for mediocre RTs is probably more of an incomplete instead of ( what are they doing) . plenty of time to fix it. Then there's pick 9 in the draft that would definitely fix it.
-
I preferred him back but can upgrade the position in the draft. Plenty of RBs in the draft but at what point do they draft one?
-
The Bears probably valued him at 5 mil a year. I think this means they bring back Evans and drafts a RB.
-
Giving Jones 23.5 in his first year might have been more attractive than an extra 4-5 over 3 years over all.

TJ Edwards to Bears - 3YR Deal (Ex Eagle LB)

He would have to cover people at the other two spots. -
Big contracts like Edmunds contract. I never said they were done.
-
I don't think there's any big contracts left. He will bring in some value with the rest of free w. Still think he signs Monty to a team friendly deal. It may e hub d up being cheaper than originally thought because of a lack of offers. One week should be long enough to bring him back.

Twitter is lame sometimes, Bears fans are chaotic. Because we haven't signed a RT or DT, we all of a sudden have a bad free agency.Time will cure everyone's mood . Poles is a smart guy.
-
Poles is going bring some players we know very little about but started last year in the league. Example: Greg Gaines started for the Rams next to Donald. 36 tackles, 4 sacks, 6 TFL, 6 QB hits and 1 fumble recovery. He can be got cheap and could be a rotational NT.
-
They definitely are going to cover the possibility of him not being available all the time. That's why I think they keep Whitehair and Patrick around. Maybe draft someone like Cody Mauch that could play all line spots.

As far as addressing the Oline, Ryan Kelly/OC is said to be up for trade or release out of Indy. He's an above average OC that could still be brought in. If cut, his salary would only be 7.8 mil in 2023. He's 30 and doesn't have an injury history. There are still 7 2023 starting RTs still in free agency. Ill have to see how their rated. Trey Pipkins is the youngest but not sure of his effectiveness. Also Riely played OK if they wanted to bring him back while they groom a rookie. All is not lost yet. He's going to look for value but is bringing someone in. On the roster still is leatherwood, Kellen Diesch, Jenkins ( moved) and Borom ( no ).

Out of the top 10 OTs in the draft Broderick Jones is third in arm length only behind Paris Johnson and Dawand Jones. Not sure Poles thinks that's a problem for him as a prospect.
-
PFF had him and Jenkins ranked in the top 10 of OGs last year.

At Will LB Edmunds will be Shaq Leonard on steroids. They could have picked up Bobby Okereke that played int he Flus scheme and was successful but we now have a monster Will LB. Since Poles got here, he rebuilt the DB group, WR room and now will give us the best group of LBers in the National Conference. Got work to do in the trenches . -
Finally we get the Rodgers ownership out of Chicago.
-
He was in negotiating with McG and Dremont Jones but he had to set a limit for value got out bid. I'm glad he's not throwing around stupid money contracts. That's how Pace got us in trouble. I think he still brings in a DT and another edge but they will be Walker type signings. We may not get a RT, so that means he will be drafting him in one of the first 4 picks Something lime this 9. Jalen Carter ( if he drops) Tyree Wilson, ( if he drops) or Lucas Van Ness 54. Tuli Tuipulotu/ 3T 62. Jaelyn Duncan/OT 65. Keenanu Benton/ DT. I used tankathon mock as reference. If Poles can find Braxton Jones in the fifth, he surely can find a starter at pick 62.

Edwards is playing MLB , Edmunds the Will slot. Sanborn SLB. I now spoke. Edmunds is going to be Shaq Leonard on steroids. He's going to kill it in this scheme. This was the other big money contract. The rest will be below 10 mil a year guys.

Listen to a beat writer for the Titans today, he did most of his damage playing inside. I read that he had 42 pressures last year, I stated 19 before All of this on 494 defensive snaps. He had 17 QB hits, we as a team only had 20. at worst he played better than anyone we had last year in limited snaps. He could be what we all hoped Gibson would be. He should not be taken as a Mike Pennel signing. ( just a guy)
-
With 6 starts, had 7 sacks, 17 pressures, 19 QB hits, 10 TFL. Would have led our team.
-
Demarcus Walker, 28, 6'4" 280. A rotational piece, started 6 games had 32 tackles, 10 TFL , 7 sacks, 16 QB hits. Couldn't find his pressures. Nice signing. Never heard of him before. A second round pick of Broncos.
-
I think Broderick Jones is the fit. Very athletic.34.75 length arms with huge hands, 10" 5/8. Strong base. They could move back and still get Jones.
-
The option could be to move Whitehair to OC. Slide Jenkins to LG. The answer for RT right now Alex Leatherwood, Keller Diesch or slide Jenkins out to RT. Sign a vet or draft one. Early would be Skoronski, Johnson or Broderick Jones. Later would be Matt Bergeron or Duncan or Freeland. Poles is trying not to pay stupid money for a vet. McGaryw, Wynn, Wylie, Trey Pipkins, Brandon Shell. All starters last year. My gut feeling: Brandon Jones-- Jenkins--Patrick--Davis-- Rookie.
