I agree, it's not my ideal plan but he will be the best player on the board, no matter who we draft.
-
I always looked at other options than Skoronski but the experts call him the best OL in the draft. If Poles drafts him, he will be all pro somewhere, maybe won't be at RT. I don't doubt he can't play there, it's just about what his ceiling is .

You can see a lot of videos that just show good plays that proves their opinion or a video like this that clearly wants to show you reasons to not like him. I trust some of the experts that looked at hours of tape and their opinion. I think they try him at RT, let the year play out and go from there. If Poles has a problem with the length then they will choose someone else.Jenkins has some health questions, so if he struggles, Skoronski is our pro Bowl LG of the future, if not, Poles will figure it out. Skoronski as a RT has to be better than the other options we have now. Jenkins still has a question mark behind his name, we will have to see it play out.

Lots of sports journalists have prospect ratings. I pay more attention to Dane Brugler, Daniel Jeremiah and Bleacher Report which has a scouting team that includes Brandon Thorn. As far as OTs they have Skoronski as the pro Bowl future player. (OG) Johnson JR is looked at as a above average 10 year starter but never seen anyone say potential all pro. Broderick Jones upside is a potential pro bowler but needs to develop. Wright is look at as a future pro bowler at RT. Poles OT critical traits are pass protection ability, foot quickness, length and attitude. As an early pick its Skoronski that has to be the prize. As a RT , long time starter with above average skills. Same as PJJ ,with outlier of upside Broderick Jones fits that mold. Skoron short arms is the only trait he's missing. Wright fits the traits as a RT of which I think Poles actually wants to draft. If he wants the safe pick, its Skoronski and figure it out later. If he trades back , I think Wright may be the target, with Broderick Jones as that backup plan. If he waits to the second round , Matt Bergeron fits the traits with some development. Later is Wanya Morris or Blake Freeland but has to be developed. Anyone he drafts at 9 has to be a potential all pro. That's why I think he may not draft a OT there. If Jalen Carter or Tyree Wilson drop, that's our pick. If he trades back it's Wright or Skoronski if he drops. Otherwise its Lucas Van Ness, Myles Murphy, or outlier Nolan Smith. Smith is small almost the exact size as Micah Parsons. He may be to good to pass on.

We all want to fill needs, Poles says BPA. It may be Robinson. Foreman contract is for one year. I'm thinking someone else will want him and give us a haul for him. You trade back and take Gibbs later. He can still fix OT and DT in second and third round.

Been absorbing a lot info on prospects and every where I look, Skoronski is the best OL in this draft. I always nix him because of his arm length but do I think he can't play RT? Maybe not a all pro ? I don't know that. I would have no problem if we draft him and put him there. Will become our best OL, that can't hurt.

Skon is a,blue chip player. All pro guard, long time starter at OT? Very possible he's our pick. We need a OT, it may work. Slater had the same criticism and he made al! pro his rookie year.

A few sports journalists were talking about NW playing A A out of position to much. That he would have thrived at DT, had they left him there all the time. I trust Poles to figure it out. He has speed, longer arms and a high motor. We will see.
-
Greg Gabriel says that teams don't seriously talk trade until a few days before the draft. If they talk now, it's, will you be willing to trade if our guy is there ? Listen to Brandon Thorn talk about the OL prospects. He mentioned Tyler Steen, Mathew Bergeron, Wanya Morris other than the usual prospects. A lot of videos have mentioned. Bergeron and Wanya Morris as potential sleepers. Those will both be available in the second round. Both fit Poles OL profile.
-
Poles is definitely bringing in a RT, edge, and DT. If he drafts the OT first, chances of getting a blue chip pass rusher will be more difficult . If he goes pass rusher first , there is a good chance he gets us a quality RT. Chances are the top 5 are gone, so is there a quality OT between Mauch, Jones, Bergeron, Duncan, or Freeland? I tink Poles knows, I have no idea.

Scheme fit is important in the draft. Would he or could he lose 40 lbs to be more mobile? Not sure they risk that with a high pick.Good players should succeed anywhere but to maximize a player is getting one that fits their scheme. I think with the first pick, it will be a OL, whether they trade back or not. Unless Carter or Wilson drop.
-
I think he goes 40-60. Unfortunately I don't think he makes it to pick 53.
-
I think he may be a backup plan if they fail to get the higher rated OTs. (5). Greg Gabriel said that do draft scenarios with players they want taken are gone. Tier 1) PJJ, BJ, PS Tier 2) DW, AH
-
Which team picks him. Will determine, where he will play.

My favorite take would PJJ-BJ-Wright-Harrison for a OT. They would all start the first year. I would love Mauch as our future OC. His attitude and physicality would fit in with Davis and Jenkins. I listened to an interview of Jim Nagy from the senior Bowl and said Mauch was clearly the best OL there. He said he rarely sees that kind of physicality .
-
Never heard of him before, not sure how much I buy into his grading. Maybe I should start a website and tell everybody on smart I am. Of course you guys already know the answer to that. My take: Anderson Wilson Murphy Van Ness White Foskey Who I like, sleeper is Van Ness.
-
I agree to a point, but moving to 17 still gets you a blue chip OT, If it falls the way predicted, Brandon Thorn has him as the 4 th rated OT and could be pro bowl elite OT. Plus we get an extra pick with 49. If none of the second round or third round don't end up being blue chip, red would be fine. Above average starters in Poles rating system. We already got one blue chip player out of this draft in CJ Moore. That would be 2 blue chip and 5 red , that's a good draft. If we got this draft. I figured Spears and Stromberg as future starters to go along with the first 4 picks. Plus an extra number one next year.
-
Harrison and AA are day one starters. Harrison was Stills is a high upside get . Stromberg is a sleeper, fits everything Poles looks for in a OC. Was there a CB of value at 64? I don't think we take 2 WRs in this draft. Wilson is a sleeper. Like all the names but never heard of Sims. Other than WR at 64 , I totally think this is how the draft will go down. Heavy in the lines with a WR, RB, and TE.
-
That's why I think taking Mauch in the second would be ideal. He can play all 5 spots on the line. Draft a OT later them let them fight over right tackle spot.
-
I think Kancey is going top 20, so he has to be our first pick. Where A A probably is a 2 nd to early 3 rd pick. So how much of a difference is the grade for where we draft them. Most people have Carter as the first or second ranked pick. If we got him at 9, that would be huge value. Poles definitely looks at RAS and AA has a 9.72 RAS score. So AA is a better value at pick 53, than Kancey would be at 9. Greg Gabriel goes over the draft process and mentions both these players.
-
There are a few plug and play OCs in this draft. Not sure we will grab one of them with a high pick. I think we are more likely to take one at pick 103 , OO, Stromberg, Scruggs. I do think we are in play to take Mauch with a second round pick. Who literally can play every OL spot. Which would start at RT or OC. I can see Poles doing that to add attitude and flexibility for the OL. Then take a OT in the 3 rd round ( Freeland) that might not be ready to start early. The first 4 picks would be2 OL and 2 DL. I think a perfect scenario.
-
Tough question. Poles and Flus value length, so they would have to get off of their traits list to take him. Philly needs a DT and they are a team with the roster to be able to take a chance with. AA arms are 33 7/8 with 4.49 speed. He would be a better fit at 3 T with those traits and could be gotten somewhere in the second round.
-
I think other than the Cardinals, anyone of those teams could pick a QB and that spot could be a trade back scenario. I think all 4 QBs are gone plus Anderson. That leaves 3 teams to pick Wilson and Carter. Probably gone. Do not count out a GM taking Hooker with a high pick, probably not top ten thou. I tink we could see Robinson, JSN, or A CB picked in that range also. If Philly wants Robinson, they have extra picks to trade up to get him. I think Carter makes it to us.
-
I think Carter is probably the only player worth picking at 9 on that list. Most would be trade back selections depending on how far we go back. Or later round picks .Any of the DEs that can play 3 T , would just be rotational at both positions getting them a full time number of snaps. I think unless Carter or DE Wilson drop, their our pick. Otherwise it's OT or trade back.

Since Jenkins have been with the Bears he practiced at LT, then RT, got switched to RG. I don't think it matters much to him about where he plays. He's never outwardly complained about switching anytime Like AZ stated Davis is the vet and next to a rookie would work the best.
