Wright was a superior pass blocker but has work to do in the running game. It's about Justin Fields.
-
They clearly had no trade options and got a next year pick for free. A fourth is just draft capital. I wanted Carter but I didn't get to interview him. He may be a stud for the Eagles but they have a vet team. The key is definitely get Fields going this year, D J Moore , Tonyan, Davis, and Wright. Sounds good.

Probably referring to National press that mocks RB, and WR alk the time with the first pick.
-
Valladay is a sneaky good pick.

As the draft approaches , there are many good free agents left on the market. Also some will be released as rookies are signed. We are first claim on the waiver wire to add vets. So if we miss a position upgrade, we can still fix the roster. We still have the highest amount of money to spend. I think its critical to add a RT, Edge, and 3 T in the draft. There are good options on defense yet but thin at OL in free agency. I think that comes into play with our first pick to make sure we get a RT. PJJ-Jones-Wright-Skoronski- Harrison. Outlier: Mauch-Bergeron-Freeland-Duncan-Morris.

Those are good names but I think the first 4 picks need to be starters. Musgrave and Mingo could be future starters, granted Wypler could be a starter in his first year. The CB is only 5'8", and 176 with 29" arms. I don't think Poles drafts a CB that small. Coburn's size is that of a 3 T but only had 7 sacks in 1600 snaps.

The Bears use the term BPA a lot but by who's list? It's their list. They're 32 different big boards, they will just tell you he was the highest rated player on their board. Almost by everyone's list, Bjan Robinson is probably going to be the best player available at that spot. It's also position value that will come in to play. If they took Robinson, I won't hate it but their is value later in the draft at RB, so I don't see them doing that.
-
Actually, if that's all it would take, I would but moving around in the top 10 probably going to cost more than that.
-
I don't see Poles giving up draft capital. He moved from one to add where he could have added Anderson. A 9 to 5 move would eliminate most of what he picked up. In the second, if he could move a few spots to get something maybe but I think he pretty admitted to accepted a group of players and not focus on one.

You know Poles likes players that play with an attitude. Wright , Mauch, and Bergeron fit that bill as OTs. I think we end up with one.
-
I heard this discussed on a podcast. How many huge lineman had a long hearlded career in the NFL? They only came up with one . Huge men have a few good years and their bodies break down. They usually have a problem controlling their weight later in their career. I tend to agree. Jones may be the exception but history is not on his side.
-
How ever he does it, I want Wright/RT AA /DT Mauch/OC Hall/ edge later rounds= Chase Brown, Tyler Scott, Dorian Williams, Moro Ojomo
-
Love that draft other than taking a RB at 103 instead of a LB. Poles will be getting some extra picks so I also expect a WR.
-
That would suck to pass him up and then play in Detroit twice a year. He wouldn't mention the team.
-
Was listening to Greg Gabriel and he was talking to one of his friends that still works for a team, part of the war room, that said they have Carter removed from their big board.
-
One of our owners are gone. The Rodgers ownership is over. Take the North is on.
-
With the hype PJJ is getting , I think he's gone by 9. Which probably leaves the door open for Carter or Wilson to drop. If we end up going OT, I hope it's Wright.
-
The way I look at it, if Poles ends up drafting him, he will already have the answer. We are not privy to all the information but I don't think he takes a big risk on his highest draft pick he may ever have. He's not playing poker with his best asset . We just don't get to see everything. I hope Carter drops and Poles takes him. If he gets the best player in the draft at 9, that would be amazing. Upgrade at edge and a future all pro in the middle? Grab a RT in the second round and lets play football.
-
I agree. There are 20 stars I would like but its a building process. If Carter drops, you take him, unless someone offers you something you can't refuse. A second round and a first round next year plus there pick. Poles will surprise us .
-
Everything will not happen in this draft, as you suggest, Poles already told us that. Do your scenario and get a vet edge for a year. Problem solved.
-
I'm buying all of that, that's exactly what I want to happen
-
Wish this would happen. I don't think Paris Johnson going to be there at 9 which probably means Carter drops to 9.
-
Like that draft a lot, concentrated on the trenches and the RB is a real sleeper.

I will say with this bizarro Bears off-season, I have found some sports journalists that I like , I never seen before. Swifty, Adam Rank, Barroom Network, mainly because of Greg Gabriel, that I knew before but never appreciated. Also CHGO sports is growing on me. Karm and Hoge keep it real. Also I have grown to appreciate some of you guys more. Some are more like minded than I originally thought.

Brandon Thorn likes Benton a lot rates him in his top 5 DL ahead of several big names.
