  1. Georgia draft? Jalen Carter Broderick Jones Nolan Smith Darnell Washington Kelee Ringo Christopher Smith Kenny McIntosh Warren McClendon Not sure which draft would be better off.
  2. I'm sure that's agent talk. If Poles is taking 2 interviews , there must be some thought to want to pick him. I trust them to make the right decision. Hard work and loving football are important. If they don't see that, they won't draft him.
  3. Didn't know that, clearly would matter if taken in the top. 10. Jalen Carter is making a second visit to the bears. If he's available, they will take him. Getting the top rated player in the draft at 9 is huge . Of course there's risk but I trust Poles to make the right call.
  4. One of the bears scouts at the combine was interviewed by a reporter and said the Bears liked 2 OCs better than Schmitz. Not sure who but Avila, Stromberg, Wypler and Tillman all got attention from the bears.
  5. Poles takes shots with these type of players Harry, Leatherwood hoping one will hit but rarely do they. They are usually cheap additions with good traits but I doubt if counts on them to make major contributions. I would say if one hits of that group , Piles would be happy. Akim Hicks was that type of find that happens once in awhile.
  6. The way I see it is Eisien and Carter are the backup OGs, which means Patrick could be odd man out. Especially if he drafts a center.
  7. Its a mystery to know what existing players can contribute and how that effects who we draft. Biggest question for me is at OC. They have Whitehair , Patrick and Doug Kramer. How much does Poles value Kramer as a future starter. And where would we draft a center?
  8. If we picked up Ngakoue, that would fit perfectly. I forgot Gipson was good against the run.
  9. Unless they get a high round pick RB that would start on the team( Robinson, Gibbs), what do they need to add as a compliment back? Speed? Power? I think a Duece Vaughn would e a perfect change of pace back. Devon Archane and Kevin Mitchell would also give you the speed. Foreman is going to be the power back, with every down potential. Herbert is the one cut and go guy with decent speed, 4.46. Homer is strictly a role player on passing downs. Duece Vaughn would fit in perfect and could give you lots of reps if someone got hurt. If you want a speed guy Devin Achane is local man. 4.32 speed. Good tape to.
  10. Gipson, Robinson and Jones are not lead guys, they had to be last year but will look better in rotational roles. If Jones is a backup to Billings at the 1 tech, he will be fine. Not that good at 3 T. Robinson has the most upside, hope his second year is a big step forward. Gipson needs to show more or he could be cut .
  11. I personally would rather see Joe Tippmann instead of Wypler. We have a young center on the roster similar to Wypler. Doug Kramer, same size both were second team big 10 behind JSM. Tippman is bigger can also play OG, Wypler is strictly a OC.
  12. I have always dismissed Nolan Smith because he clearly is an outside edge LB. Don't think he fits our scheme. Am I wrong about that? I always saw Murphy as one of the Prime DL, he seems to be ranked in the teens now. Did I miss something? Injuries? Bad interviews?
  13. Other than QB, Poles says there are 7 blue chip players . If we move back from 9 , who could fall we could still get? Carter and Anderson will be gone. That leaves 5. Wilson, Gonzalez, Witherspoon, B. Robinson, Skoronski ? Using Dane Blugers top 100, Van Ness and Paris Johnson are next? Is Paris Johnson the pick? Or a trade back, and Broderick Jones? He's ranked 15 th. Van Ness and Nolan Smith are the edge players on his list on the DL. Levis and Richardson are ranked 13 th and 14 th but will go ahead which causes someone to drop. Doubt we take B Robinson, but maybe a CB as best player available. Im calling Paris Johnson or Van Ness.
  14. Thai people are very kind, you want fresh fish and they go out their way to help you out. It's over 90 here every day in April, so they dress accordingly. No other place like it in the world. Now you know why I post so much these days, not much to do .
  15. Van Ness is not ready for Prime time yet but I think he could end up being a beast if they play him inside. I wish it was draft time now. I hate the wait. Bored in Thailand.

You can backup any argument you want with selected tape. I will have to say Edmunds is going to be very good in this defense. If we got no one else to play in the DB backfield, we are going to be a better pass defense with two new LBers that do that well. We got killed on some of those routs that will now be challenged. If we can get two above average draft picks in the DL, this defense will be much better. I got a feeling our first pick will be OL so we will have to have some luck to get two plus DL. I hope he does.

I'm cut from the same cloth. I TRY to be optimistic all the time. I want everything to turn out well. Move to something positive when some moves crash and burn.

This guy makes you like being a Bears fan
  19. Your draft has 7 players that could make major contributions in their first year. How great would that be.
  20. We only have one year to judge Poles draft expertise. He now has all of his men in place to stack he draft. Last year he had leftovers from Pace. Having 5 draft picks in 2022 and ended up with 5 starters until Sanborn was injured. Plus still have Velus Jones to step up in his second year. Brought in Jaylon Jones and Josh Blackwell that looks like valuable backups. I think J'Tre Carter takes a step forward this year also. His first draft still can bring us value in it's second year. Gordon will progress, Brisker turns into a star. Braxton Jones becomes a legitimate LT. Don't under estimate. Dominique Robinson, V Jones, Doug Kramer, Ja'Tyre Carter and Elijah Hicks can still make significant contributions in their second year. The future looks bright with 4 picks in the top 64 players.
  21. One thing for sure, Poles will have a few surprises along the way.
  22. My dream draft Trade 9 , 53, 61 to Pittsburgh for 15, 32, 49 15) Broderick Jones/ OT 32) A Adwbawore/DT 49) Cody Mauch/OC-OG-OT 64) Keon White/edge 103) Jonathon Mingo/WR 133) Tyler Spears/RB Trade 136 for 160 and 172 148) Mekhi Garner/CB 160) Payne Durham/TE 172) Jake Witt/OT 218) Marte Mapu/LB 257) Tanner Morgan/QB
  23. I think the question is does Poles think he can get a good RT at 53 or does he have to take in at 9. 3 OTs clearly stand out in the first tier: Skon, Johnson or Jones. All should be day one starters. At 53 ? Cody Mauch-- Anton Harrison--Matthew Bergeron--Tyler Steen--Jaelyn Duncan. I think the # 1 priority is OL but if one of these can be a Braxton Jones type his first year is that good enough. With Nate Davis next to him and a TE helping , will that work? A 3 T at 53?_ Keon White--Tuli Tuipulotu--A Adebaware--Zach Harrison--Zach Pickens--I figured Edge players that have the size and length. I used The Athletic top 100 for reference. I think he trades back a few spots to get a earlier pick in the second round. Grabs Broderick Jones then gets a 3 T with his next pick. Example: move from 9 to 15( Pittsburgh) give Pitt 53 and 61, we get 32 and 49. Pittsburgh takes the best WR in the draft . At 15 Broderick Jones or Lucas Van Ness. At 32 Anton Harrison or A Adwbawore, we can fill both spots depending on our first pick. We still have 49 and 64 for edge , a center, or CB.
