  1. The more I read about Bjan Robinson, the more I can buy into that pick. He probably will be the best player on the board at 9 , if we move back I think Philly takes him. Later in the teens, Darrell Wright comes into play but Lucas Van Ness should still be there to. Actually let me say if Carter doesn't drop, I think we take him if he does.
  2. Was Benton available when you took Dexter? That's the only thing different I would do. Nice draft.
  3. Arguably, an upgrade at OC will do more to upgrade the OL than the OT position. I've been using the argument that Poles already has players at a position, so why draft one ? Not sure he has trust in his options at OC, so adds a plus player at center. The WR situation is different because the quality of the top 3 WRs. It's totally how he has his board laid out.
  4. That's far to say you don't trust CLaypool and V Jones. As I said before my opinion is ( what I think Poles is going to do.) If you want a offensive player, Robinson is the only choice, he looks like a blue chip player with rookie of the year written all over him.
  5. The Bears aren't a good enough team to have the luxury of their 3 best assets all going into the WR room. The first 4 picks have to be starters. JSN would not be starting on this team in his first year. DJ Moore will be the load WR, they want to see what they have in Mooney and Claypool . Also V Jones will be given the chance to succeed. Poles don't have the luxury picking picks that might start in 2 Years. I'm predicting what I think Poles will do, not what I want. They will be drafting a WR, it's justnot going to be at 9.
  6. Every team in the league has a different board. What someone thinks a red player, may be blue on their board.
  7. I'd be very happy with that draft. As long as we get at least one DT, Edge, OC, OT, at the top of the draft, I'm a happy camper. I didn't know this before but Sydney Brown and Chase Brown are twins.
  8. Lots of threads speak about the draft. I thought I would stick predictions in one spot I think Carter drops and that's our pick. 9)Jalen Carter/DT 53) Joe Tippmann/OC 61) Mathew Bergeron/OT 64) Derick Hall/edge 103) I think he trades this pick to NE ( could be any team. NE is always trading picks and has 3 in the 4 th round) gets pick 107 and 117. 107) Chase Brown/RB 117) Riley Moss/CB 133) Karl Brooks/DT 136) Jake Witt) OL 148) Cameron Latu/ TE 218) Matt Landers) WR 258) Jose Ramirez/Edge He's going to make some later day trades but to hard to guess when Poles . I used Bruglers draft for reference who might be there.
  9. I can buy into Robinson over a WR. Foreman is on a one year deal. Hebert is not a three down back I won't be throwing beers at the TV if we did that. Jahamyr Gibbs is projected to go later in the second round and people think he is a Kamara clone. If we picked him at 53, I would jump on that. Later in the draft has lots of talent. Isaih Pacheco was pick 251 and started for the SB winner. That's where Poles learned football. I don't think he picks Robinson early.
  10. I guess what I am trying to say is that with our first couple of picks, we need to address other needs. Some of the best WRs in the league are not first round picks. Tyreek Hill was a 5 th round pick. Cooper Kupp was a third round pick Stefon Diggs, 5 th round I think they target a prospect later in the draft that could become a star. Mooney came in the 5th .The pick 103 is the first pick on day three. Some talent will drop. JSN may be a star but he's not a Waddle or Chase type.
  11. They are trying to be better this year. He may turnout to be a good WR but he's not a Chase or Waddle. We have 3 starters and Velus Jones . He's not giving up on Velus , he's going to give him every opportunity to succeed. So he will play the slot, that will take away reps from Mooney easily the player Fields has the most connection with. He's not using his best assets all on one position. He traded a 2nd rounder, out of a valuable first pick in the draft and now use the 9 th pick to add a WR that will be the 4th spot in the WR room? None of that makes sense. Mooney and Claypool are still here, you can't draft a WR because they may be gone next year. You draft one next year in you need to.
  12. He's an article by Adam Jahns from the Athletic. I'm not sure it will link. I have a subscription so it may only open with that. He lists what he thinks Poles big board is and I think it's pretty realistic https://theathletic.com/4429284/2023/04/20/bears-nfl-draft-big-board?source=user-shared-article
  13. We are definitely drafting some of those names on that list. Visits are information gets for better or could be for worse.
  14. Poles stated in one interview, there were 7 blue chip players other than QBs in this draft. Anderson Carter Wilson B Robinson Skoronski Gonzalez Witherspoon This is my guess but Nolan Smith may replace Witherspoon. I think if Carter or Wilson are there, he takes him. I don't see Po!es taking Robinson because of our team will focus more on the passing game as Justin develops . He set us up to still have a good running game, of course Robinson is better but I don't believe he planned on taking a RB with his first pick. Robinson would probably command the offense to run thru him. Poles will surprise us but I don't think it will be by taking a RB.
  15. I like all of those prospects you drafted. When I do mocks, I consider what Poles picked up in free agency. For the NT spot, we picked up Billings and we have Justin Jones. I don't think he will prioritize NT early. I think he will add two 3 Ts instead of NT. Draft AA and then double down on wit Moro Ojoma. I think they add a OT and OC prospects. They have JaTre Carter and Dieter Eiselen for backups at OG. I think another OT prospect. He will bring in 2 DEs and let them compete with the new additions. The contracts are structured to be able to get out of. Robinson will stay but Gibson could be odd man out. A CB, RB, TE WR will be added.
  16. Greg Gabriel talked about BPA mentality. There are 32_different big boards plus a few noted experts that are taken seriously. A teams BPA already have their need positions figured into their board. The Bears aren't going to list B Robinson/RB in their top 10 even if Kiper may have. Its sometimes not apples and oranges.
  17. That would be great but Keon White is going to be a first round pick. If we do a trade back, we could easily select White.
  18. The back of the WR room has to play STs. Pettis may beat out a rookie simply because of that.
  19. Poles has more input than I have. I wouldn't have a problem with any of the top 5 OTs. OR if he took a DL first. OR if he drafted a OL in the second round.
  20. Poles has traits he looks at, D Jones size doesn't fit that exactly but I think if they took him , they do with the premise he would lose some weight. Moving well at 375 doesn't mean he's exactly what they look for in a move tackle. Like you said, they have a better perspective than anyone else. Its about trusting his valuation, I do.
  21. I think it comes down to they are starting to highlight the passing game and still have a good running game. We have enough talent in place to lead the league again in rushing. We need to step up the passing offense and you don't do that by running 60% of the time. I think with Justin taking a step forward and added personal, we could approach 4000 passing and still be top 5 in rushing.
  22. The experts say Broderick Jones has upside to be a potential all Pro but has to be developed more to get there. PJJ can start day one but ceiling isn't as high. Anton Harrison is another high ceiling prospect but has to be developed. So day one starters would be Skoronski, PJJ, and Wright. Three that need to be developed but may not start day one is Mathew Bergeron, Anton Harrison and Broderick Jones. Sleepers are Blake Freeland and Cody Mauch. Knowing the ability of Poles surprising us , it could be someone else.
  23. Right now 2 out 3 rumors are bogus, hard to say what is real. If Carter's intangibles are good, we're drafting him. That's a win win to get the top rated player in the draft at 9. (arguably). Valuable traits for Poles are hard working and love football, if that's not clear from his interviews, we ain't drafting him.
