It's amazing to go from 68 sacks last year to maybe 25-30? Caleb has great awareness in the pocket, better OL and better play calling. This stat shows how much better we are from last year.

Someone may have posted this, I didn't check but a good analysis of Caleb by Tim Jenkins.

At 9-4 in his first year as a coach, the old bears are gone. If they went 0-4, it would be disappointing but we already have seen the direction of the new Bears. Adam is right, this is going to be a close game but their vaulted defense gave up 29 points to Tennessee, the worst team in the league.

Agree, Caleb didn't exicute the play properly. Kmet went up for the ball and Caleb didn't put enough zip on it. Had Caleb threw to the corner, Kmet would have kept going to the ball. If we got this TD, we still had to get a 2 point conversation, so I'm not sure if we would have won the game. BJ said he would have went for 2. It would have been a lot more interesting to see the call Ben makes for the 2 points.

There's lots of pundits breaking that play down. IMO, if continues to the sidelines, he easily beats his chasers but he slowed down to do his reads. DJ wasn't open yet but did get open after he committed to throw to Kmet. I think he threw where it went thinking Cole could climb the ladder against a 5'10" S but he didn't zip the ball. I think if he threw to the corner, Kmet could have reached the ball. Caleb failed on execution, it was a great play call.

I get the impression, you will only be happy with perfection. I get the growth we have to see from Caleb but I'm afraid, this year, we're only going to see small increments from him. I think a lot of his flaws will only be fixed off season but at this stage we are still winning games and can't be unhappy about that. I think we have to look at this as his first year with BJ and accept it's not all going to happen at once. Because he was the first pick, I, as others, expect it quickly.

Everyone complained a lot last year when we were 5-12. I see a lot of complaining at 9-4 . As much as there's 's many areas that can stand improving but let's keep it in perspective. I would have preferred we went undefeated untill the playoffs but realism sneaks in. I think we win the next two games that should get us in the playoffs . Probably not on the road in SF but Detroit is still doable. Is 11-6 or 12-5 good enough to make people happy?

I asked the same question awhile back as far as how long will BJ stick with Caleb and said the middle of next year if he doesn't get better but know he's got until the end of next year.

I had to watch the game at430 am because of my timezones so just now getting to comments. First, the second half we played well enough to have the last play determine our fate. Caleb is still not where he needs to be, but helped us back in the game in the second half. GB is a tough place to play and showed everyone, including me, one of the better teams in the NFC. They play Denver next week so we can see how they measure up to the whole league. Anyone that has injuries or had them just aren't up to speed yet. JJ and Edwards will play better, Gordon just isn't healthy enough yet to be able to help. Gardener -Johnson had a bad day.

I agree Eagles was totally, I'm referring to our remaining games with that statement. Eagles had a better DC, talented DL, and playing at home after a loss. It doesn't get any harder than that.

I've been watching a lot of Packers podcasts. OMG they are not getting it. One guy makes out they have more talented WRs with Rome being out. Golden hasn't did anything this year. They think Jayden Reid will be back which doesn't look likely. With Wyatt out ( good player) , they are claiming a waiver wire addition with have no problem with Dalman and Jackson. What drugs do they grow in Wisconsin that I'm unaware of? They're predicting high scoring games in the cold. It's going to be a similar game like the Eagles game. BJ is 5-1 against the Packers while OC in Detroit. I think he out coaches LeFuer as usual. Eagles were the least TO team in football until we got 2 TOs, now if falls on the Packers with that honor. The Packers have 2 inexperienced OL at C and RG and I see Jarrett and DAs stunts creating havoc with pressures.

Lions are capable of scoring a lot of points and that will keep them in every game. Dallas was a hot team and was beaten by Detroit. I wanted Detroit to lose but Dallas may have been a harder team to beat if we make the playoffs. I'm going to project a little here but what if we man handle GB the same we did Philly? This is our biggest test on the road. We could lose out ( doubtful) or win out ( possibly). For that to happen Caleb needs to improve some, defense get back to full strength, Edmunds back and our running game stays dominant. As other teams have more injuries, we are getting healthier. Rome is a short term injury so not worried about him . This could be a magically season if we finish 1 st in the NFC and at least make it to the SB. Not likely to happen but I'm a homey drinking dreamer.

I think this could not have a big effect on the game. Rome is only catching 50% of his targets. I think Caleb looks for him sometimes when other people are open. Mentally I think it allows Caleb to focus on the progression. We have 3 Wrs capable of big plays plus, 2 TEs and 2 RBs give us plenty of targets. We also may see J Walker that was impressive in the preseason.

Here is the most entertaining preview of the game you will see. I'm watching Gurden but kept thinking that's Mongo previewing the game.

After a dominant game, all the OL deserve recognition. I was impressed with Dalman handling Jordan Davis on several occasions by himself. I've been watching some Packer fan content and they don't think the bears can handle their DLine. Eagles clearly have a better DL than the Packers do. BJ will scheme a successful attack against a good Packers D. Here's a nice shorter than predicted we would be 8-4 at this time before the Philly game.

We are now seeing the accumulation of the players Poles brought in and their talent. Like Jason and Mongo have always preached, build the team inside out. Since Jim Finks assembled the 85 team I have always wanted it that way. Poles did it a strange way but its hard to say it's not working now. Considering our history it's been hard for a lot of Bear fans to buy in but Black Friday happened that woke up everybody that wasn't onboard already. Hard to imagine how much better we can get with players coming off injuries and Caleb hitting his stride.

Wouldn't it be interesting if we had a NE - Chicago SB. I thought the Rams were the best team in the league until they lost to Carolina. Now I'm not sure.

I've been traveling so I don't know if anyone has posted this but last season when we beat the Packers our OL was Boron - Curham-Shelton-Pryor-Wright. What a difference a year makes.

Dexter is not a star but I don't think they are giving up on him anytime soon.
