  1. This guy is okay but it amazes me he has 155,000 followers. He has some good ideas, don't agree with everything.

I'm one of those but never had a problem with anything you had to say. You remain me of a good friend that I had , we would come to blows and then do shots of tequila and forget about it.

I wish all the members lived in the same city so we could sit in the bar and argue, then buy each other a beer. Like the good old days before the internet.
  4. I'll remember when I describe an opinion of yours, as simplistic and childish, it's a football term and not personal. This has nothing to do about DJ's feelings it's about disagreeing with the quitter label. You always take it somewhere it never was. Trading for assets and cap space is a different conversation than a player over seeing him as a quitter. You always try to mix conversations. You are always the player that punched first and then played innocent when the other guy punches back. This is a football analogy you will understand.

Never heard the term ( slurping his jock) before. We must have grown up in a different culture. You are correct, I brought it over here after you mentioned trading DJ,. I didn't blame anybody was just trying to move back to the post topic.
  6. Hundreds of pundits doing Bear material these days. The two opinions I respect the most are Olin kruetz and Dave Wannsted. Not JT get me clicks Sullivan. It's okay to have different opinions , what happened with just saying, I disagree.
  7. I apologize, you meant a compliment with the statement ( simplistic and childish ways). No one is falling for the poor me anymore , by mentioning ( whipping boy) you were responding to my post. If you would refrain from using derogatory language, this would never happen.
  8. I didn't know where to stick this. I have seen some people ( not on here) wanting to badmouth the bears for moving without having the debt paid off on Soldiers field. This clears that up.
  9. Lucky you do a good job of explaining your thoughts but let me clear this up. I think DJ is a valuable member of the team, you don't have to but it comes down to, it's about what the bears want to do. If it works out, they value the cap space and a third round pick better, I'm all in . It doesn't mean I have to agree with someone else's opinion on a quitter label. For everyone that doesn't like the term, whipping boy, take that up with Olin kruetz, those are his words. I follow him on X , I would love to see his reaction.

We are going to have some new coaches because teams want the BJ tree and already starting this year. I trust them to replace assistants. I watched a lot of podcasts yesterday, someone mentioned, Adam Hoge, that instead of putting Theo back at LT he moved Thuney there. Clearly showing how valuable he thinks that is. I think it will be BPA available between LT and DT. We will draft a LT in the few couple of picks. Poles is not stupid he's going to get what BJ wants. This will be a defensive draft overall but also a LT.
  11. The NFL and NBA has a majority of black players not because of race but because they are the best at what they do. I wish society would use that metric when applying to anything. I never complain because they're not a lot of Croatians in the NFL , I'm okay with it.

This thread is #25 and we are talking about DJ? You always make good points instead of arguing about a player value. The bear's could care less what we as fans think about DJ. Their opinion is all that matters.
  13. Olin kruetz used the term whipping boy, I just repeated it. If you don't like the comment, @olin_kruetz is his Twitter account. Let's keep this simple, it's okay to find value in a player you may not like. Im not here to discuss DJ's flaws. All we have are opinions until the bears choose what to do. Then we can say I was right or you were right about a player. That actually doesn't matter to me. Because he is being paid the most on the team is what generates about what to do with him. If BA doesn't want him here and wants him traded, I'm all in. I trust BJs opinions over fan opinions. If he thinks Walker will be a plus wide out, get us assets and cap space. We are winning now. Rome was hurt a lot this year, Burden had some games off, depth mattered and I would say without DJ we might have lost a couple of those games and not made the playoffs. Find a trade partner, get a replacement, it's just not as easy as playing FF. I'm no longer arguing with you over using words like ( simplistic and childish ways) . Why you want to fight all the time?
  14. In the past we were always rebuilding the team at this time because we were losers, that is gone now. The bear's are now a playoff contender and I don't think it's rebuild mode but tweek time. I don't see them doing several major moves. One big surprise and I think we all see Edmunds gone.
  15. That is probably what he would bring back, a 3rd rounder. Find a trading partner.
  16. He has some talent but like AZ said he has an elite QB, maybe our coaches can get more out of him. If I remember his catch rate is bad , we already have Rome on the team, not sure we could have two of them.
  17. I posted the video to show Brady choosing Caleb's throw as the best of the year, and wanted to use your terminology to describe the WR. I didn't want to use the term I wanted to say so you don't think I'm just a player fan.

To be honest I just don't remember all the quit plays people talk about. I will go threw all the tape and check it out. I think what happens is he quits on a route and then people laber someone a quitter and then apply the tag when it's an isolated play or two. I am willing to say I'm wrong with my perception. And like you said, the second year of a potential great offense, I don't see them making any big changes. Defense is a definite a make over.

Here's a mock off-season that picks a LT with our first pick. I don't agree with a lot of his moves especially moving up in the draft but he does keep track of the Cap space overall. Also he uses PFF to much in his evaluations. Something I think a lot of people lose track of when suggesting trades and cuts.
  20. Poles was saying Ozzy won't be back until well into the season next year. Kiran is the only available option still on the roster. Theo would have to be resigned back as a restricted free agent. It could be a draft pick even the first round is in play. I would suspect it has to do with could Ozzy come back to the level he was playing at when he was injured. Or a veteran Free agent. Does anyone think the possibility they resign Braxton Jones? I hate to say it but a free agent with a ton of starts may be in play.

I think it's quite silly to say I'm a player guy and not a team fan over liking DJ. I have been a bear's fan for 60 years and had plenty of reasons to bail on this team.

I don't disagree with anything you have to say and since I have the time, I will go threw all the games and look at wherever tape I find on the games to see if he quit on as many plays that people suggest. I'm not subscribed to NFL+ so I may not find all 22 games to view. I wish I had the memories that you guys have to remember every play DJ was involved with thru the year. I remember 2 noted plays. If I find a handful, I may even change my mind.
  23. Seen this and didn't know where to stick it. I wanted to see where Caleb's throws were rated. You can go to the end of the video, he rated the best throw of the year was Caleb throwing to the quitter in the Packers game. https://youtu.be/onXK_T0fzm8?si=Hsf11Cp-sr1zzt6S
  24. I looked at his contract that the first year starts in 26 and he has 44 mil guaranteed. So that is his cost not just his 16 mil in 26. Point is an aging WR, known for being a quitter isn't going to be easy to find a trade partner for. Rebuilding teams will look to the draft, most good teams already have an expensive weapon they're paying. Okay trade him but to who and for what?
