  1. Obviously you have higher percentage the earlier you pick. But you showed exactly my point, only 4 of 10 were picked in the first round and only one was a top ten pick. The higher the pick , the higher the risk. Only one of the 10 highest paid WRs was a first round pick. Much rather take OL or DL high, better percentage of hits.
  2. Spiielman have both listed in his top 10 Fashanu and Alt. He praised Braxton and said no way Poles takes a OT at 9 with blue chip players (WRS and Edge) available. He was a GM, been long time NFL employee. CBS hired him for input . Agree with all his takes. He did say if they trade back and top WRs and DEs are gone then they might take a OL. He even mentioned JPJ and Barton there.
  3. Read where top 10 highest paid WRs, only one was a first round pick and that was at pick 23. Tone of examples of lower round WRs becoming studs. Last year Puka and Dell were good examples.
  4. If we trade back and get a second, probably Frazier is the only one that will be available. I remember Van Pran getting a lot of love last year but now he is listed 80-100 draft value. I wonder why he slipped? Also Linmer from Arkansas was brought in and is a high RAS score guy you could get 3rd and 4th area. Sit behind Bates for a year and be ready in 2025? His draft bio seems to be close to other top prospects.
  5. I've seen him listed in the top 32 by several scouts but is getting more cudos as a center. I'll let Poles figure out who he likes more if we get the chance to draft one. I like Zach Frazier a lot. Former wrestlers make good lineman in the NFL.
  6. It seems pretty clear that after 2 drafts, no one knows what Poles thinks . It's always speculation. Bowers is a top 10 talent, so BPA would apply to him. Seen a video with Rick Speilman, former GM and his top 5 was 3 QBs and 2 WRs . He thinks Williams is generational and also that Drake Maye and Daniels are going to be good QBs so because of importance of position listed them top 5. listening to him, he's a very smart guy. He has us take Dallas Turner but said we are trying to trade back. One scenario was with 14- NO for got pick 14-40-155 for 9. He has us take Brandon Dorlus/ DE at 75.
  7. You're not seeing anyone other than QBs and MHJ going in the top 4 no matter what defensive players turn out to be all pro. The QB need is to high to put people that might normally would go top 5 in most drafts. Caleb Williams and some see Maye as being tier 1 quality. 3 WRS, A few see Thomas as a sure thing also. Brock Bowers, Everyone has Alt and Fuega as blue chip. Some have a few other OL listed blue chip. Then we get to Dallas Turner, and a few have Latu and Verse. At least one CB and a few have up to 3. Then you get to JPJ and Frazier as blue chip even though they would never get picked top 15. I'm not saying they are right but odds are there will turn out to be close to 15 when it's done. That's excluding surprises.
  8. Nabers keeps being there at 9 in mocks lately. We need to run to the podium if he's there. I have seen many former scouts ( they are the only ones I pay attention to) keep projecting between 12-15 blue chip players in this draft. The lists aren't exactly the same so it's subjective but that's what I see to.
  9. Picking top 15 and grabbing an OG is a luxury we can't afford with other deficiencies.
  10. We're 10 days away. Many draft scenarios with really no bad results. What does Poles do that surprises us? I would have originally said trade the # 1 pick and draft a different QB but I think it's safe to say that ain't happening. With the second pick take a WR, OT, DL, or edge. None of them would be a bad pick. Trade back and draft any of the above. Expected I think the only surprise pick would be pick Brock Bowers and you could still make an argument for that. I think it's safe to say no LB, no OG, no RB, no CB , no FS. The only surprise I think that could happen is him trading out of the top 20 or a couple times that get us out of the first round. His sweet spot, IMO, is the second round. Is there a couple of trades that could happen to get us 4 second round picks? Would anyone support that? Washington has two Houston has two Carolina has two GB has two Philly has 2
  11. 1) Caleb Williams/ QB 2) Rome Odunze/WR 75) Kiran Amedgadjie/OT 122) Tanor Bortolini/OC
  12. Olin Kreutz said the same thing about having the chance to get a top 5 OT, you take it. I would normally push OL, but Braxton has progressed enough to think he's a top 12 LT. Not a great difference from top 5 to top 12 to not take advantage of the blue chip edge or WR. Thinking long term, that would be smart but I think we are in the window to win now and edge would be more valuable now.
  13. It was just an example of a later pick. Puka was picked 177 last year. Never know where they will come from. I like Legette and pPearsall myself. Probably late second rounders thou.
  14. I agree in a long term sense but they will draft one probably in the third. The best rookie WR was pick 177 last year. Puka Nacua. How about Brendan Rice? Already has a connection with him. Great QBs make WRs better. Never know where that is coming from.
  15. I don't think they view getting a #1 WR as a top priority. You have 5 viable throwing options in DJ, Keenan, Kmet, Everett and Swift. Allen could be a one and done but if needed they could tag him one more year. also Tyler Scott was the 13 th ranked WR coming out last year and had some game in college. He should show improvement. He is only expected to be a third WR. The 10 highest paid WRs in the league only has one first-round draftee in it. I think we trade back and ideally get Verse, if not there I have 4 in tier 1 . Verse, Chop Robinson and Darius Robinson.Turner will be gone. I think the Newton injury takes him down the board but Murphy could come into play. I also think JPJ could be in play in a trade back scenario.
  16. Totally agree what a good punter could do, just don't know the talent enough to say who and when.
  17. If Jenkins injury history continues, he could be groomed to take his place and let him become a free agent. Well worth the 3 months he may not play.
  18. Robinson would be a good get at 46 . He's been invited to the draft so I'm thinking he may go first round. He definitely fits a Flus DE and could play inside if needed.
  19. Limmer is an athletic center that may be a late round pick to develop. Jason Kelce was a 5 th round pick that developed into a all pro.

    Draft Day

Everyone knows who the first pick is. What happens at 9 is the question. This is my take and why. 1) Caleb Williams- no brainer 9) trade with LV to 13 and also get pick 77 13). Trade with Cinn to 20 and get pick 80 20) Chop Robinson / Chop is raw but has speed and off the chart athletics. Played the a true DE position and will only be 21 this year. 6'3" 255 at 4.48 speed RAS score 9.69 75) Mo Kamara/ edge highly productive , 6'2" 250 at 4.57 speed. Compares to Brandon Graham RAS 8.82 77) Tez Walker/ WR natural playmaker with 4.36 speed. 18 TDs in last 20 games RAS 9.87 80 )Tanor Bortolini / OC can play center and guard and future starter. Great athlete. RAS 9.79 122) Tip Reiman/ TE great athlete at 6'5" 275 with 4.64 speed. RAS 9.93 I used the Rich Hill chart for trade value and draft buzz and GBND report for content. With limited picks I drafted a rotational WR with speed and upside. Robinson was the last of the top DEs available in the first round. Chop is young and has a lot of growth to develop. Also played a true DE position. Also drafted Kamara giving more depth . Walker is capable of taking reps at 3 T that helps fill depth at DT. Bortollini has position flexibility and is a great athlete. May take one to two years but could be our future starting center. Rieman is a great blocker that wasn't used much as a receiver. Has football IQ and reliable hands.
  21. The best players names are common for most people. These are players that could be good that I think would fit with the Bears in a random order. Zack Frazier- 4 time wrestling champion that skill set fits OL . I think Zach is on the same level as JPJ Care Stover- Was recruited as a DE at OSU so has an aggressive mentality. Has a great drop rate, catches everything thrown his way. Bralen Trice- very active edge, had 70 pressures in 2023. Watching tape he reminded me a lot of Khail Mack. More power rusher than raw speed. Kiran Amegadjie- he has all the measurables to be a long time starter in the NFL. Needs a couple years to develop but this is a Poles type pick. Graham Barton- can literally play any position on the line and would be above average. Doesn't have long arms but only gave up two sacks playing LT. Low 1st or high 2 nd round draft ranking. Adoni Mitchell- watched a video where Josh Lucas broke his tape down and said he's the second best WR in this draft. If we trade back later in the first round , could be a steal. Roman Wilson- speed and great playmaker. Played on a running team or would have had great numbers.
  22. As much as you've involved in this website, you couldn't take the time to do a top 15?
  23. I find more value in experts that were the first to support a prospect instead of the ones that jump on midway thru the process. Last year their was a few that were talking up CJ over Young but most had Young as their #1. With me I supported Justin because of the lack of good coaching and bad oline with the thought he could get better. Plus he WAS on the team, so I was questioning Caleb, not for talent but the intangibles. Does he love football, does he work hard, how does he get along with his teammates and will his ego get in the way? Fields is gone, CW is going to be our pick, so it's time to look at CWs positives. I think he's the most talented QB this year but as Poles accepts him it is more comfortable for me that Poles knows all the secrets and it's a full go.
  24. Agree with all all of that. If CW was coming here 3 years ago , it would have been difficult for him to.
  25. These are statements Dane Brugler made in his Beast draft guide. I like his work but will say he had Bryce Young rated higher than CJ Stroud last year. This is his opinion after studying hours on a prospect. He's not always right . We are drafting CW, so I want him to succeed but great prospects do fail occasionally so calling him great right now is a little premature. Did you call Brugler stupid last year because he had Young rated higher than Stroud?
