. Yes I liked that idea but in the pre draft process, as the Bears got sold on Caleb, I started to see his potential and when the bears traded Justin, I was all in to the new best QB to get and sometimes we change our opinions. I'm sure I seen you hesitant on Caleb in the beginning, you were always consistent on hate Fields though.

Having a GM and Coach on the same time frame is the only logical choice. They obviously believe this is the coming out year for success and Poles gets to prove his worth. He built the roster and hired a high end coach. As much as that is important, our future is based on Caleb being a star or bust.

I get out tomorrow, the surgery went well, but because it was because of an infection, it takes 6 weeks to retest for infection,so I could possibly have to get it redone it two months. I'm optimistic it works. I'll check with my two friends to see if they are still in play.

They have the Bears as the 4th best OL

I am not sitting on his history in the league and saying he played great. He has flaws but I think he is getting better. As far as teams passing on him, its about teams that have either estasblished QBs or prospects in place that are CHEAPER options. I am not the only one that thinks he could eventually be a starting QB in the league ( of which he is). Your great evalutions include Jayden Daniels isnt very good. Kingsbury kept the passsing game simple and used his legs that is one of his strengths. If he has a coach that plays him similiar to Daniels he can have success in the league. We got rid of him because we had a better option that was cheaper for several yrs. Pitts bailed on him, not arguing that . When we drafted Loveland, you right away wanted to trade Kmet and say he isnt very good. Lots of people disagree with that opinion. Its about a player that has some skills and can be a starter in the league. You act like I am making him a pro bowl player. Caleb had some of the same problems last year that Justin had, holding the ball to long and not reading the field right. I think Caleb will get better and have a pro bowl type year but if you go by this year, he still has to prove it. You say stupid stuff like I think Flus was a great coach, knowing I never said that. I supported him while he was our coach and then he exposed himself so I moved on. You were right about Flus and cudos for that. I was a big fan of Justin while he was our QB, as soon as he left, I jumped on board with Caleb as he became our new QB. Other people on this forum liked Justin but you never beat them up with their opinion but I am not the only one here that wishes him well. When I have a different opinion than yours you always look to blow that up , have fun. Then you always get personal. (Its truly astounding. I dont understand why you arent embarrassed.) I will say one thing, you are very good at loving yourself.

I guess NFL teams dont use your evaluations in making decisions for rosters. He was 4-2 last year and did okay with his stats. The NY Jets signed him to be their starting QB. If he is terrible as your opinion suggests then, he will be benched by midseason and your opinion will be spot on. If he is getting better and lands somewhere between 15-20 rankings at QB then my comments that I think he is getting better will carry some weight. For me their are 4 tiers of QBs Great- above average- average and poor. He will never be great but if he continues to get better, he could move to above average. It seems your only two tiers are good or bad. He is not bad.

Im not sure surprise applies to Klyle Gordon but I think the way DA has talked about using him in different roles, he will have a pro bowl in the future. Leads the team in interceptions and will have 5 or 6 sacks. I think Dayo is a perfect fit for DAs defense and will get us 8-10 sacks.

How many times are you going to repeat yourself? Everyone knows how youl feel. He has not been the man yet but that doesnt mean he cant get better and be a NFL starter. Its okay to have different opinions. Last year he improved his completion pct and QB rating. He improved his pocket time from 2.8 seconds to 2.5. His on target accuracy improved from 73% to 75%. For comparison purpose Calebs was 72.4%. Its funny you post stats to tell me how bad he is but when I post stats they dont mean anything. My whole point is I think he is getting better and IS a starting QB in the league.

I think by our bye week we should start to get on a roll with a successful offense. There will be some good and bad moments in our first 4 games, but that is to be expected.

Since you are always predicting failure for Fields, we get to watch him be a starting QB in the NFL. The proof is in the pudding. Last year he had a 93.3 QB rating. Caleb was 87.8 . I am saying he is good enough to start in the NFL and keep repearting that I do not think he is in the top 15. He will finish between 15th. and 20th. You seem to only have two opinions on QBs (star or bust) the real world does have a sliding scale. We both know our own opinions and this year will show where he fits. Here he played for a lousy coaching group and bad OL. In Pitt he shared the QB spot. Believe it or not players can get better with more experience and finding the right fit. Geno Smith, Sam Darnold are examples of QBs playing better after shaky starts.

DE is a question mark with depth: Dayo and Sweat are our starters. (Austin Booker-Dom Robinson-Xaiver Calton-Dainel Hardy-Jamree Kromah-Jereme Robinson are our backups. Also Shemar Turner and Gervon Dexter could take some snaps outside. Dayo 6-5 282 Sweat 6-5 273 Austin 6-4 258 Dom 6-5 275 Xaiver 6-6 273 Hardy 6-2 260 Kromah 6-3 268 Jereme 6-3 258 Shemar 6-3 293 Dexter 6-4 326 We have many players with the size to play the DA DE position. So who could be a breakout player we are not counting on. As BJ stated I think Dom could be that guy.

Here is some interesting stats: Consider two years unded Fields and one under a rookie QB. Kmet has the 10th most yards of a TE the past 3 years and of those he has the 4th most TD's behind Kittle, Andrews and Kelce has 56 less trgts than Kittle, 29 less than Andrews and 192 less than Kelce

Watching the Bears last year showed me we had more talent than a 5 win team suggests. Coaching doomed a winning season. If you think Caleb is the real deal, you have to be optimistic on our chances.

I have had all my joints get implants. I am now relplacing the left hip I had done in 2009. You dont die from a new hip but it always goes back to ( am I as healthy as I think I am) Its getting knocked out , where surgeries usually go wrong. I look at myself like I do the future of the Bears, all is going to go well. Thanks for anyone wishing me luck.

Fields got paid to be a starting QB for the Jets, thinking he is still a failure is a little long in the tooth. No one is saying he is a top 10 QB in the league but if used right, he can win football games.

We brought in leaders to help the chemistry. Jarrett, Thuney and Dalman all bring leadership to the lines. We now have players that will make everyone accountable on the DL and OL. We got a A+ coaching staff that wont let anyone slack off. Great situation for this team to excell.

I have surgery on July 7th, so if I dont die , Im in for this year.
