I think draft picks are better judged over their first three years. Stroud was great his first year and is following the Lawrence path of not getting better. Daniels looked much better last year than this year. WR Thomas Jr has did nothing this year after a great rookie season. Same with McConkey. Different situations affect how players do, OL health, different coaches. Caleb is better this year than his first. I think after 3 yrs, players will show who they really are.

I think that Swift being mildly successful in Philly had a lot to do with the best OL in the NFL that year. He was only signed for one year and surveying the free agents choose Barkley over Swift was a no brainer. Swift is not a pounder but a third down type of back. His 4.48 speed is fast enough if the OL allows him to get past the line of scrimmage. His salary suggests he should be . I think Poles had the vision of a two back system when he signed Swift with maybe BJ being the horse. Due to injuries Johnson has never got to his ceiling. All of his concussions may have taken the fight out of him. In the last draft a few of the highly touted RBs have yet to set the league on fire. Jeanty didnt have a good game until he played our porous run defense. Henderson has yet to make a good impression. Judkins came in the league succeeding and Browns OL is listed top 5. I think the common trait of successful RBs are a good OL and lots of touches . Philly, Atlanta, Detroit all have good lines and successful RBs. I think the OL will play better as they jell going forward. Wright was getting crap from BJ because he probably wasnt in shape when he started the season. Jones was coming off from a surgery but has never gained the needed strength to handle his job properly. I think Theo will end up being a better overall LT with the future LT, Ozzy, just not ready yet.

He hasnt been inactive yet this year. Being demoted has already affected his value. I just dont think losing OT depth for a 6th or 7th round pick is valuable to the Bears this year.

The Oline hasnt been playing well and its not logical to think it hasnt affected Swift. He is a third down type of back and not the pounder in the RB room, that person just hasnt emerged according to their plans. I think he has did find with what has been asked of him. He is effective when he gets in the open, not when he is hit before he gets to the line of the scrimmage. I think Monangai has showed some pop but the line play has restricted his play also. Not sure what they can change in two weeks, but we will find out.

If the Bears dont have any value for Braxton, you aint getting anything if you did trade him. Who is your depth if you traded Braxton? One injury and your back to having problems again. Kiran is next in line and he hasnt looked good. Having depth is much more valuable than a 6th or 7th round pick next yr. Ozzy would be the only backup OT on the roster.

We started out with the worst schedule in the league. As you look at things now, it looks like more winnable games . What we get after the bye with some healthy players back and BJ addressing some weaknesses will define our season. Im an optimist and see us being better, hopefully that adds up for more wins.

You expose yourself every time you say something. 1) No one was praising Jones and thinking he should be resigned. Everyone just said he was a average NFL LT, which is true.. BJ was saying he starts out well and then wears down as the game goes on and starts screwing up. Theo will be the starter going out of the bye week. They gave him a shot and now go to phase 2.

What makes good players great is consistency. He needs to do this for the season. The Washington game will be a test to his mental focus.

This was an ugly win but remember how hard it is to win in the NFL on the road. Just look at GB, Chargers, Ravens. We are starting to turn losses we would have had in the past and winning those games. We have two weeks to get healthy and make some adjustments to be a better team. So far, I think BJ is showing this is different.

Swift is a third down type of back, he's not a pounder. Better blocking would help.

. He hasnt started out great but with a Loveland injury, you dont get rid of a depth player. The last two yrs he had the best catch percentage with TEs in the league. Not the time to get rid of players that have a good history of play.

If he doesnt pay by the 30th, on the Oct 1st , Ill pay it and get it from him.

Maxx Crosby is a load but has only 2 sacks and 11 pressures on the year. In the first 3 games the only good OL was the Chargers and they were banged up. I think we can scheme and chip Maxx enough to not have him affect the game.

This last game and being O NFC player of the week is at least showing signs he could be great. Not there yet.

Wasnt a lot of talk about LT in the last game. That's a good sign when he has been on the radar this year. Simmons has did well but the rest are not excelling at LT. Note Belton is playing RT. Whether you like PFF or not, it gives a decent view to compare. As I have said before, Braxton is an average LT in the NFL. We need an upgrade but it could be worst. I remember some people saying we should have drafted Ersery, he has not looked good at all but at least he is playing.

The Raiders can be had thru the air and are decent against the run. They have 7 sacks of which 4 were in the first game against the Patriots.( we have 5) They average 350 passing yards against them. Jeanty is averaging less than 50 yards a game at 3.1 yards a carry. Geno Smith isnt special, 4 TDs and 4 Ints. Is averaging 12 yards a game running the ball. The Raiders offense is averaging 18 points a game, Being on the road may not be an advantage because of the transient crowd that go to games. Lots of Bear fans will be there. 38-16 Bears will win Caleb 4 TDs.

I think its going to end up a home game for the Bears. Many ticket holders are transients and not LV residents. More Bear fans than Raiders fans. IMO

Im not saying I dislike Skat, I would love to have him but we didnt draft him.
