In the past we were always rebuilding the team at this time because we were losers, that is gone now. The bear's are now a playoff contender and I don't think it's rebuild mode but tweek time. I don't see them doing several major moves. One big surprise and I think we all see Edmunds gone.

That is probably what he would bring back, a 3rd rounder. Find a trading partner.

Keon Coleman
He has some talent but like AZ said he has an elite QB, maybe our coaches can get more out of him. If I remember his catch rate is bad , we already have Rome on the team, not sure we could have two of them.

Brady's top passes of the year
I posted the video to show Brady choosing Caleb's throw as the best of the year, and wanted to use your terminology to describe the WR. I didn't want to use the term I wanted to say so you don't think I'm just a player fan.

Pick #25
To be honest I just don't remember all the quit plays people talk about. I will go threw all the tape and check it out. I think what happens is he quits on a route and then people laber someone a quitter and then apply the tag when it's an isolated play or two. I am willing to say I'm wrong with my perception. And like you said, the second year of a potential great offense, I don't see them making any big changes. Defense is a definite a make over.

Pick #25
Here's a mock off-season that picks a LT with our first pick. I don't agree with a lot of his moves especially moving up in the draft but he does keep track of the Cap space overall. Also he uses PFF to much in his evaluations. Something I think a lot of people lose track of when suggesting trades and cuts.

What to do at LT
Poles was saying Ozzy won't be back until well into the season next year. Kiran is the only available option still on the roster. Theo would have to be resigned back as a restricted free agent. It could be a draft pick even the first round is in play. I would suspect it has to do with could Ozzy come back to the level he was playing at when he was injured. Or a veteran Free agent. Does anyone think the possibility they resign Braxton Jones? I hate to say it but a free agent with a ton of starts may be in play.

Pick #25
I think it's quite silly to say I'm a player guy and not a team fan over liking DJ. I have been a bear's fan for 60 years and had plenty of reasons to bail on this team.

Pick #25
I don't disagree with anything you have to say and since I have the time, I will go threw all the games and look at wherever tape I find on the games to see if he quit on as many plays that people suggest. I'm not subscribed to NFL+ so I may not find all 22 games to view. I wish I had the memories that you guys have to remember every play DJ was involved with thru the year. I remember 2 noted plays. If I find a handful, I may even change my mind.

Brady's top passes of the year
Seen this and didn't know where to stick it. I wanted to see where Caleb's throws were rated. You can go to the end of the video, he rated the best throw of the year was Caleb throwing to the quitter in the Packers game. https://youtu.be/onXK_T0fzm8?si=Hsf11Cp-sr1zzt6S

I looked at his contract that the first year starts in 26 and he has 44 mil guaranteed. So that is his cost not just his 16 mil in 26. Point is an aging WR, known for being a quitter isn't going to be easy to find a trade partner for. Rebuilding teams will look to the draft, most good teams already have an expensive weapon they're paying. Okay trade him but to who and for what?

I get everyone's point but I disagree on what they might do going forward. I just don't like everyone using DJ as the whipping boy when he has made lots of big plays this season. I'm not making excuses, he clearly didn't finish the route. Let's say Poles tries to trade him. Who wants a high paid WR ( according to half the fan base) is a quitter. Antonio Brown was a person with character flaws bitched when he didn't get the targets. Wouldn't play hurt. I just haven't seen the that from DJ. Pickens is a great WR but is clearly a me guy and most fans wouldn't want him here. Lots of Me guys playing WR over the years. Eagles have one now in Brown. I actually do think smart football GMs may want DJ because he is a team player, blocks, runs the ball. A big YAC guy, lots of production. All this he's a quitter is not making trading him easier.

If you don't have the evidence to prove your point, I guess a WR with high production threw his whole career definitely shows a character flaw. I have to agree

We are on the verge of a top 3 offense in the league, could be highest scoring team in the league, I don't see them dismantling it. Twerks not rebuilding it IMO. Depth has shown to have value with every WR being dinged up. Swift missed a game, Monangai had an injury. DJ, Swift and Kmet all gone? If they trade people it will be around draft day , with everyone they trade it forces you to use a pick on that position. Poles said today that Ozzy won't be available until later in the season. I think that could mean a high pick for a LT.

Watched a lot of talk about this today, so let's say they decide to trade him, that salary will be hard to move especially after tons of people bad mouthing DJ. Do you think other teams are going to want a quitter? Make that argument after this much attention? They are not just going to cut him.

I think everyone think he was just average until BJ come and revive his career. Way to good to let go now. Low mileage.

Pick #25
You can criticize DJ all you want, I just haven't seen a lot times he quit on plays. You're much better at detailed content than me. Show me and I'll agree with you.

Glad that not everyone taking shots at DJ, we had a great season, let's do what we normally do rebuild the off-season in our own opinions.

Bears 2026 Opponents
Totally agree, the OL sucked last year and fixed it. Got help on defense but injuries derailed any improvement. When looking at the future look at our roster as is before adding. This offense is almost intact besides the LT question. Without subtractions is a Caleb breakout year, top 3 offense. McFadden, Newman, Stromberg, Kiran and Theo align for good depth. We will see what happens on the defense. With players coming back from health, we need two Ss and a DT. They will address those positions in the draft. They may add free agents and a big splash depending on what they want to do. I think they fix everything going into next year.

Every year our schedule looks bad. The better you are the more chances you have to play better teams. I think we split in the division and win all our home games. So is that 8-9 wins? Then lose to a few big boys on the road and finish with 11 -12 wins. Now if Caleb breakout next year happens, I can see maybe 13 -14 wins. They will be saying oh crap, we have to play the bear's.

LAR @ CHI, Divisional Round, SUN, JAN 18th Game Thread - CHI +3.5, O/U 51.5
I get I'm almost the only one that supports DJ no bo use beating the discussion up over it, I'm not changing my mind and you aren't either. I will say , I've seen no criticism for Caleb throwing 5 ints in the playoffs. All of those weren't on the WR, yet I still think he is the next great QB in the league. I can do both.

Pick #25
Refresh my memory I remember one play last year that he got heat for. Had it not been for DJ we won't have won the last two Packer games but the good things doesn't matter when people want to be critical.
-
LAR @ CHI, Divisional Round, SUN, JAN 18th Game Thread - CHI +3.5, O/U 51.5
I have been defending DJ but it is clear there is a lack of effort on that play, I am not making excuses. I never judge a player by a few plays a year. Every player can have criticism at someone. The last two games our most dependable WRs Loveland and Burden had drops. Rome dropped a TD pass. I look at the overall season. For everyone that has played before, could it be fatigue? He was limping on the sidelines at the end of the game . Could it be a hamstring tighting up? He is a team player and had been the top target getter up till this year and never once complained about it. Had he not made that one hand catch earlier, this wouldn't be a conversation. His two catches in the last two Packer games that helped win those games for us. Have your own opinions but I'm not beating him up over a few plays a year even he leaves next year.

- Bears Free Agents
I think Poles probably surprises us but it won't be a RB. More likely in later rounds for a RB. I think they will look for a speed guy that can contribute on STs and be the third back. Swift is 27 and doesn't have lots of mileage on his body. I think they might extend him for a yr or two and get some Cap for next year. - Bears Free Agents
