  1. There were some picks I thought there were better choices for, but the more I read about these prospects the more I like them. Amos and Langford stick out the more you read about them. The 6th round tackle, if we control his weight could be a RT starter for years. Has great core strength, and if he stays at 325 could be a Big Cat clone. Glenn and Timu could stick with this team also. There lack of speed caused them not to get drafted, but are hard working, tough football players that could eventually find a place to play. Glenn needs to add 10 lbs but would be a good nickel corner. Goldman will shine,White is a total stud, with work ethic, will be a top 10 WR in three years. He will surpass Jeffery in a few years. A better Marshall with speed and a good attitude. This draft could have 6 future starters in it, how cool would that be.
  2. He was drafted one round sooner than he should have, been he wouldnt have been there one round later. He is Olin Kreutz and once he takes over the center position and stays there for 10 years, you will be praising this pick in four years when he goes to a pro bowl. Probably my favorite pick of this draft.
  3. Your right, I havent been doing my homework, but am trying to read everything written about all of our new players and am finding more things to like about some of them. Langford, has some scouts saying good things about him, they originally having a lower opinion about him before. Amos is a very interesting prospect and Rob Rang has him listed as his 2nd rated FS. Jacoby Glenn has really good upside. Had 11 PBU and 7 interceptions in 2014. Needs to add strength but could be a diamond in the ruff. Kevin White may have the greatest upside of any player drafted, speed, toughness, desire and work habits are huge. Grasu may be my favorite pick. He was drafted one round sooner than he should have been, but has Kreutz written all over him. Born leader and having Long as his best friend, they both have that go to war mentality. Timu is a slow afoot tackle machine, who I see making the practice squad his first year. Just a bonehead football player in the mode of Bolander. Goldman has everybody saying good things about him and in the second round making him one of the best valved picks.
  4. What is one trait you find in all great people that succeed in life and particularly in sports? They work hard and have the desire to be better. That is a trait I think Pace is looking for.
  5. He started the last three seasons (39 games), compiling 11,991 yards, 86 touchdowns, 30 interceptions and a completion percentage of 66.6. As a senior, he completed 63.5 percent of his passes for 4,736 yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. I think that is one of his strengths, the accuracy thing.

  7. QB Shane Carden (ECU) WR Levi Norwood (Baylor) OL Chad Hamilton (Coastal Carolina) OL Cameron Jefferson (Arkansas) TE Brian Vogler (Alabama) $4,500 Bonus DB/WR Qumain Black (ECU) DL Olsen Pierre (Miami) $5,000 Bonus S Sam Carter (TCU) S Anthony Jefferson (UCLA) $5,000 Bonus K Jeremiah Deter (Toledo) LS Rick Lovato (Old Dominion) RB Tony Pierson (Kansas) CB Jacoby Glenn (UCF) a 6'er with 48 t/ 11/PBU and 7 int last year ILB John Timu (Washington) $5,000 Bonus He had 108 tackles last year. got this off of A Flemings twitter, I think that all of them?
  8. His highlights look good, but he has a lot of work to do to be a starter in the NFL. Speed is not taught, so he has that going for him.
  9. One of the scouts must have pushed to grab him. They just dont pull names out of a hat.
  10. OGTAYO FABULUJETCU BIG 12 Photo of Tayo Fabuluje COMBINE RESULTS GRADE 5.33 ? 5.55 SEC 29.5 INCH 4.77 SEC 6'6" HEIGHT 34" ARM LENGTH 353LBS. WEIGHT 9 7/8" HANDS OVERVIEW 2014: Honorable mention All-Big 12. Started 12 games at LT. 2013: Did not play football. Transferred back to BYU, but had no contact with football team. Left the TCU football team just before football camp. 2012: Played all 13 games, starting 12. 2011: Sat out year due to transfer rules. 2010: Redshirted at BYU. PRO DAY RESULTS Broad jump: 8 feet, 2 inches Bench press: 16 reps of 225 pounds ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Enormous frame. Possesses a very strong core and is a difficult draw for heads-up defenders in run game. Natural, raw strength to generate push at the point and is very difficult to bull rush. Nimble feet for a man his size. Has shown ability to redirect rushers around the pocket and stuff inside moves. Can move laterally and shows some smoothness climbing to second level. Flashes power in his hands and the potential to mash when on the move. Has been losing weight over the last year and has potential to play lighter than listed weight. WEAKNESSES Missed three years of football due to redshirting and sitting out between stints at TCU and BYU. A little stiff in his lower body. Shallow kick-slide puts him in catch-up mode against edge speed. Shuffles feet, causing him to overset and play with high pad level. As a tackle, needs time to fix his footwork issues. Lazy with hands/hand placement and doesn't snatch and sustain enough. Takes suspect angles to second level targets on the move. Play demeanor isn't as nasty as desired and body needs refining. DRAFT PROJECTION Round 6 or 7 SOURCES TELL US "His body language can be deceiving. When you watch him at a practice he looks like this oafish kid who doesn't care, and then when you talk to him and watch the tape you see that's not the case. I would love to see what he could do at about 335 pounds." -- NFC East area scout NFL COMPARISON Marcus Cannon BOTTOM LINE Huge tackle with natural strength and nimble feet. Played just two years of college football and has had to overcome difficult circumstances in his life. His footwork issues will take time to fix and might still be exploited by NFL defenders. Fabuluje might be best served moving inside, where his strength and short-area movement skills will be viewed as big pluses by offensive line coaches. The best point for any argument about anything is we have made the playoffs 4 times in 19 years. I would say that means we need new ideas and new ways to do stuff.
  14. I like what they say about Amos. In the latter rounds all the players are flawed. What they want is one they think they can fix or develop and all of the 4th,5th and 6th will be. Langford has speed which is not what we have in our RBs at this time. I think he will be part of a committee with our backups. There were several RBs on the board when he went off, so they must see something special in him, or they wouldnt have took him. Lets see if there right.
  15. I would like Marshall, get some training and see what he can do. They said at the Senior Bowl that he had some skills as a CB, why not. I would pick IEO if still there. Short but a tough kid.
  16. I think we trade back with Carolina and get extra picks. (why) Panthers didnt have a 3 rd pick and go after one of those RBs. they have extra picks.
  17. What I dont want is any QB prospects.
  18. I think the trend is better football players.

    Lovie Smith

He was a good coach but had lots of flaws and glad he is somewhere else.
  20. Your right about Carey but if they take one, I would say there opinion is not very good.

The only thing he did with Cutler was allowed 10 mil more guaranteed for 2016, what other choice did he have? I think they want to be competitive and retaining Cutler for at least one more year is the only way. There strengthening the oline, which improves the run game which puts Cutler in a better place to not turn the ball over. I dont pretend Jay is anything special, he is a 15-20 rated QB that makes lot of bad choices. We need to limit his mistakes. Im all for getting a new QB but this is the not the year that will happen. What they did was add a Pernell on an up and coming player that they did over pay for. It was a need that they had the extra money for by trading Marshall who the majority of the team didnt want around. They over paid for Royal but this isnt going to be the offense we had last year, we now have better options with a true slot WR and a speed Wr in White. We are not going to be predictable of which we were with Marshall and Jeffery. Paces report card cant be filled out for at least two years, but I like where it is going. Your entitled to your opinion and may someday be right, but would like to hear your ( I was wrong) comment, two years from now when these risky player changes prove good. I am sure you will still be complaining about Tillman being gone and how we should have kept Marshall and got rid of Cutler.
  22. My picks for the rest of the rounds 4th: Jay Ajayi/RB---potential future starter. 5th: James Sample/FS-- lots of upside for a player new to the position 6ht: Zack Hodges/OLB-- special teams and then we see

We have no idea how this all turns out, 2 to 3 years from now, we could be complaining about Pace or high fiving on the fact he knows how to draft. I am always optimistic about whoever is there until proven differently. I will say this smells different, they perform like smart people, as much as I thought the last regime did, there was a lot of WTF. Pace will make some mistakes along the way, but the most important thing is to make us a consistent winner and it feels like its going in that direction. I think so far we have 3 starters, maybe not day 1, but before the end of the year. Grasu may be my favorite player by the time it is said and done. He is a leader, something this team didnt have last year. White will shine, and Goldman will be steady, but what I do think is different is we will have the ability to develop players something I questioned a lot in the past. What were doing is changing our culture in the locker room, gone is Marshall, no matter how good he was, a distraction that led to chaos. It seems like a step sideways but now we have a deep threat, something Marshall wasnt. Rolle and now Grasu will be leaders, something that was lacking. If you look at how everything breaks down, we will field a competitive team, maybe 8 wins. If everything turns out good, it could be more, but we have a lot to change and it may take a few years. We still need a RT or RG and move Long. Tre Jackson is still there and is a mauler in the run game. The top 2 OTs have questions but would be a good addition. We need more safety depth, I doubt if there is a starter left to draft, but maybe one we can develop--Deron Smith, James Sample. Adian Amos, Campbell, Pewitt, and Harris. ( we will be grabbing one) I think we are set at all our LB positions, with bodies to sort out. We could be adding a CB, there are some left with upside. IEO, Shaw, but I like the idea of Nick Marshall as a player to develop. There still some plum RBs out there. Ajayi, Cobb, Bud Allen,Langford.
  24. The first two picks are legitimately BPA types. Grasu would not fall in that category, but is a born leader at a position that needs an upgrade. If Pace holds true to BPA theory then it will beone of those picks on your list. I personally think Shaw or Devin Smith should be the pick. They can contribute to special teams until they learn and be possible starters in a few years. I think we wait one more round and if Collins is still on the board , we should role the dice.
  25. So far we have 3 starters drafted, when is the last time that has happened.
