Brown is auditioning for the job, 4 or 5 wins gives him the job. 3-2 or 2-3 and Caleb keeps getting better, maybe. I like Vrabel, he seems most like a Dan Campbell type and has had success. He was doomed because of QB play, here he has it.
-
Obviously putting Caleb in the best position to win is the most important aspect of this offseason. It wouldnt bother me if he ends up our HC. It would be nice to have a 5 game winning streak at the end the season to prove he's the man.
-
Thomas Brown is auditioning in real time for the job. I think they hire someone that has already been successful as a HC instead of being the training ground for first timers. Vrabel- Kingbury-Gruden? I dont really care O or D as long as its the right coach. Quinn-DeMarco Ryan-Tomlin were all D coaches.

I hear you, this convesation is more about Poles than Flus, I gave Flus another year but he proved to me 4 games ago, he wasnt the man. I get you were right about him but I accepted the fact I didnt think Poles would dump him last year and just hoped for the best. The shine is off Poles for me but there again I dont think he's gong anywhere. So I am hoping he picks the right coach and that he fixes our trenches. I take what is the reality that someone is not getting fired so why not hope for the best and complain and hopes Poles does bad and gets fired. I am always wanting greatness, but longing for a Harbaugh type that will cost 16-20 mil a year aint getting hired by these owners. ownership.

With the offense starting to function, Allen is becoming an asset. All targets are reaping catches.
-
It's a disfyncunal franchise, the only way it changes is to be sold. I will accept getting it right no matter how clumsy it is. Waldron gone, Flus gone.
-
I dont disagree with anything you said, being a long time Bears fan demanding excellance means I would have bailed long ago because its the Bears. George and Virgina are disfyuncionable as owners. To maintain my fandome, I have to accept bad and still have hope. With Poles coming in , it changed a little with Warren being hired. I see the roster being upgrade , got a GM that considers the cap space when making moves, and the gold ring Caleb. That all gives me hope. Poles aint perfect, but like you said, if everyone fired, do you have trust they get it right next time. I trust Poles to be get this right much more than George screwing up another hire. I think we are one yr away from glory, a few yrs from a SB, changing everything now will just delay that, not speed it up. On the SCORE they reported that Poles wanted to fire Flus after the NE game, that's when he lost the team. It took a Lions embarrasment to convince George. I dont crare how we got there as long as we are there. Waldron-gone, Flus-gone. Tom Brown may not be the man but much better than we had. To have your (attitude greatness or bust) it will always be gloom until the Bears are sold. I'll take clumsy but at least it got done. If we now get some wins and Caleb keeps looking better, he will be a choice for HC next year. I prefer Vrabel or Gruden, I want experience of success instead of trial HC. NE game

I think a hater is someone that never gives credit to someone on when they deserve it but always turns everything it to a negative. I think there is a grey area in so many things, its not always black or white- good or bad. For me I support people on the Bears until they hit a point, then Im done with them. I wish i was more like you (where I give up on players-coaches ) right away, its just my nature to be loyal or look at the positive. Example ( Poles) he has some bad marks but has some good marks too. He fixed the cap, added a lot of talent-drafted Caleb. Flus turned out to be bad and some talent choices didnt work out. I dont think changing regimes every 2 1/2 yrs because the results arent there yet makes us a winner . Poles for one more year is worth watching. I heard today where Poles wanted to get rid of Flus after the NE game and the brass said no. Dont know if true or not but that is when Flus lost me. Exactly we're in a good spot ,nice you're seeing the big picture, its not all gloom and doom.

Totaly agree with you. If he goes 5-0 or 4-1, he will be close to the top of the list. They need the best choice, i think they need someone that has did it before, new hires dont have a track record on being a HC.

Watched a video thar showed with 46 seconds left, DJ Moore ran a crossing pattern and Caleb threw a pass into the ground. No one near Moore, he would have scored and won the game. I missed that play in real time while watching the game. So many plays that changed the game, just bad karma on the Bears right now.

What record does Brown need to be given the HC after the season? 5-0, 4-1, 3-2 ? I think they will have a search for a new HC after the season, Brown will be a canidate. I think Caleb has input in keeping Brown or not that will affect their decision. I would say they probably look for someone that has been a HC before and been successful. A new hire always has a learning period as to whether he can be a HC. Nagy, Flus. Vrabel-Kingsbury-Belicheck-Gruden all fall in that catagory, Johnson does not.
-
So let me understand this, his HC performance has affected our team, but his defensive coaching has no effect? The D has a lot of injuries right now and this team is in chaos and you're trying to compare performancies? He has a history of being a good DC but we are suppose to judge him on a few games? Using that logic then at the begining of the year Caleb had some teerrible games so he's not any good. Got it.
-
Flus has a proven record of good DC play from Dallas and Colts to the affect he has had since he took over calling the plays, acknowleging some good and bad points of any coach is okay, it doesnt mean I'm a fanboy, its just a logical evaluation. Saying he was a good DC and thinking he is a terrible HC can exist at the same time.

You have been right a lot about Fields and Flus but I just push back on Cunningham being a good leader when they're is no evidence to prove that. I could throw a bunch of comments out there and it would give me better odds of being right. I dont think George fires Poles, a history of evidence to show for that. Cunningham may be a great GM but dont know that at this time. If Brown gets a winning record in the last 5 games, Bears history says they make him the next HC, Williams stays as DC and we have stability for better or worse. That's what I think the Bears do, I would just hire Jon Gruden and run with it.

SOURCES: Bears interested in promising OC from Kansas City to fill HC vacancy. Has prior HC experience and has played a role in developing perennial MVP candidate Patrick Mahomes. I thought this was kinda funny.
-
Totally it should be the plan.
-
First of all fans dont get to have say in whether Poles stays or goes. Very true that the HC job is very critical to the future of the Bears. If they fire Poles then its a crap show this off season. They are not going to just turn it over to Cunningham, no one knows what input he has had in decisions. If he is involved then it would be a negative because this season has been a downhill slide. You may not have any trust in Poles but who knows who will be the next GM and who he may want to be his coach. By the time they figure that out, all the good coaches could be gone. Do you trust George and Warren to get it right? Warren was a lawyer that got a good deal on a stadium for the Vikings, he was never involved with personal. I trust Poles way more than George or Warren.
-
Firing Flus now does create chaos but it had to be done. You are right about Brown concentrating on Caleb and play calling, he has to have someone to lean on to help with other duties.
-
He is fired now, not sure why you want to kill any positive influence he brought to the team. Last yr when he took over the play calling , he definitly affected the defensive quality. The yr the defense started out well and when injuries hit, it started sliding. He is a very bad HC but that doesnt mean he is not a good DC. This is an example of hate that I said that yoy do.

Draft a OT and have Jones, rookie, and Kiran compete to start and it gives us good depth at the worse case scenario. Kiran was a 2nd round rated T coming off of an injury, and could end up being a good player. its not russian roulette with every draft class.
-
Im not the biggest PFF guy but it is a measuring stick to compare players. If you read the rest of the post I had us drafting a 1st pick OT, then have Jones as a swing T. He is not a problem for a cheap depth backup. Can a rookie T beat him out in his first yr or is Kiran A. a possibility?
-
None of this matters anymore but the FG attempt for Santos would have been a 59 yarder of which Santos would not have made. They had to run another play to try to get closer with a 3rd and 26yards to go. A good coach would have called a TO after the sack (30 seconds left) and instilled one play to get 10 yards hoping to be able to stop the clock. I think a roll out with a sideline pass and Caleb having the option to run out of bounds was the best option. Odds are we would not have won the game. Flus robbed us of the chance to play in OT and is now fired for it. By the way Brown was named the interm coach.

Brad Biggs said he meets with the brass this afternoon, I didnt expect them to just fire them w/o a plan. They have to figure it out yet. Is there someone Poles or Cunnginham are close to that could be brought in temporarly, we dont know. Also who can take over that is here ? I dont think they want to stick to much on Thomas Browns plate since he is doing well with Caleb. Wait and see, it may not be figured out until monday.
