  1. Bill is 1 year younger than Pete.
  2. Vrabel has something Johnson does not, HC exerience. You can project all you want but we do not know how our new coach will fare . I like the fact Vrabel doesnt have to go thru a learning on the job scenario. Being a HC that was success and failure , he will learn from his mistakes. Johnson has to do that in real time. If we bring Johnson in here he will have to tutor Caleb run an offense and be a HC, that is a lot on his plate his first year. Vrabel will not be tutoring Caleb, running the offense. Who he brings in to do that will be important but I trust his NFL experience to know what to do. Another thing to consider is will they want to come here? There will be other jobs available that will probably offer more money. Our advantage is Caleb but examples like Geon Smith and Sam Darold that other QBs that can give you success are out there to. Mayfield bounced around and now is successful in TB. Other bad teams will have a chance to draft a QB also. will the new coach want to groom their own prospect that they will not get here? I'll be happy with any of the 3 but think the first year Vrabel or Gruden would be off the bus running, Johnson will not.
  3. If people find Carroll atractive wasnt Belicheck the ultimate choice? More of everything? I dont want an old (John Fox ) type brought in. I like the thought of Jon Gruden but he is 61. Mike Vrabel age is 49, Johnson is 38. I want a coach that will be here for the duration of the Caleb Williams era. These 3 fit that, Carroll does not. Williams has enough talent to overcome an average coach. Obviously a great coach takes us to a SB. Caleb has his ups and downs this year and all can not be blamed on bad coaching. As a rookie he has some growing to do. Joe Burrow was the last great QB to come into the league. He started 10 games and went 2-7-1. 65%-2688-13-5 and was sacked 32 times. Some may argue CJ Stroud but in his second year on a good team but his shine has come off, just not playing as well . 62.7%-3677-19-12 and sacked 52 times. Caleb Williams 62.2%-3271-19-5 and sacked 60 times. In his rookie season he has endered Waldron-Flus and a limited Tom Brown. Vast number of injuries that has effected the OL an early successful D . I would be happy with Vrabel-Johnson-Gruden. Next yr will look totally different. By the way; Caleb Williams-442 yds rushing Joe Burrow 142 yds rushing CJ Stroud 167 yds rushing
  4. Carroll recomended Waldron for the OC job. I also heard Ron Rivera name mentioned as a link to the job, a person McCaskeys might like. I would, again , say Jon Gruden if we are digging up old skelitons for the job.
  5. We still need players in the trenches. Has brought in Dexter, Pickens, Billings, and traded for Sweat. He addressed the DL, injuries has derailed the them this yr. Dexter has shown promise, Pickens , Billings and Sweat has been limited with Injuries. He brouht in Darrel Taylor that disappeared. this year and drafted Booker that needs to be developed. Its still a work in progress. We add 2 high end talents this year and should be viable. OL has a long way to go. We will add a few FAs and draft picks it will upgrade the talent. Davis was a bust, Bates was injured and may add he only missed two games in the previous 2 yrs due ti injuries. Shelton has been okay, Jenkins still misses games because of injuries and Braxton hasnt gotten better but will say his play has remained above his draft value. I dont think we are as far away as people think.
  6. They may be better off not preparing for a game and just roll it out. It would be perfect Bears to win this game and lose a top 10 pick in the draft. Seattle has something to play for and we do not, likelihood of us getting it together is slim. Walker will be back and Geno Smith proves bad QBs can get better. I see that happening to Justin Fields in the future.
  7. Actual there is something to like about all of the leading canidates but whoever they pick wining needs to be the grading stick. We just need a winner. I wouldnt care if I didnt know the name, or if it wasnt the person I wanted, they just need to make us a SB contender. Even with the terrible year, I think we still have a lot of talent on the team. Its hard to believe one play can derail a season but with bad coaching and strange plays bloeing up games, we completely failed.
  8. There may only be 3 new starters on the line Shelton will be back here. In a fairy tale world we get 8 first round picks to fill our trenches deficenties. Reality says maybe 3 new players on OL and 2 on defense. They will bring in another CB but it wont be any high assets. To many other holes to fill. Terrell Smith, Blackwell and Jalon Jones will fill in if Steveson doesnt get his crap together.
  9. I agree but the line has lots of holes and getting 13 games of high level play is worth keeping around until you replace him. No one is giving him starter money so we can bring him back to compete for the position at bargin rates. Obviously if someone is brought in rated higher, they wont waste the money. If they draft a player with a high pick they may figure he is a vet that can help the rookie adapt to the NFL. It comes down to how they allocate money. I figure they prioritize LT with one of the first 2 picks and add a OG in the draft. FAgency additions will determine the priority. There are only a few centers available that played better than Shelton this yr. One list has him rated 55 in the top 100 FAs. Only Kelly and Dalman are rated higher as centers. Jenkins is rated 19th. Trey Smith is rated 2nd. They will bring back both and draft a OT and IOL that can play several positions. What I would do: Draft Banks at 9, and Wyatt Milum with one of the 2 2nd round picks ( can play several positions) and fit in 2 DL players around the top 4 picks. Sign Trey Smith for RG. A key to this will be where they put Kiran . People try to write him off because of a failed rookie seaso\n but I dont think he was part of the plan this yr. He will get a fresh start whether at LT(why he was drafted) or mover to LG. It will affect both FAgency and the draft. The way the draft falls will determine the first pick. If Cater or Graham are there that probasbly means Banks and Campbell were already drafted. Campbell is project inside so I am uncertain on his projection as a LT. I dont think they are sticking 2 rookies at LT and LG, that could create more first year problems.
  10. Once something is public it never goes away, true, but I think he walks into a team that is ready to win. One good offseason and we start winning regularly and the trash talking will be minor. He has never had a history of treating people differently but his speak got him in trouble. I dont think he walks in here and players revolt on him because of those comments. The winning will remedy everything. If we are talking about losing streaks then he was a bad choice anyways but we cant predict the future.
  11. I get it, I played sports and worked construction for 50 yrs and stupid crap got said all the time and have never seen anyone get upset over it. It was mostly done in a jacking with each other sort of way. Tahnks for the read. Everyone has said stupid crap in their life and you need to judge by how people treat each other. There are people that talk politically correct and then turn around and treat people like crap.
  12. I have always had those same thoughts. I hope Dabol gets fired from NY and Vrabel gets the job wirh DaBol as OC, he's the one that developed Josh Allen. That's my realistic projection.
  13. Do you have a source as to why Gruden was forced to resign ? I was never able to find his email information that got him in trouble.
  14. The OL, Jones injury is only a 4 month recover and if we can upgrade it would make him a swing T where his play skills should be. Jenkins will be back because until you replace him he is an above average G when playing. He needs competion, rookie, FA, Kiran A moving to guard. Only a few FAs that is an upgrade over Shelton and since Bates is signed for next year also competition. No rookie Cs are rated high buit if we draft a OT that can play center he may start his first year. We need to make it a priorty to get Trey Smith, but a few other vets, young and above average. Robert Jones/Dolphins or James Daniels/ Pitt. So resign Pryor, Shelton, Bill Murray (new FA) Trey Smith or other. Draft a OT and OG/OC . The key will be if Kiran competes at LT or moves to LG and if Bates is healthy. If we drafted 3 rookies and started them., that probably would have a learning curve. Nate Davis not wanting to play football anymore started a path of bad play and injuries the OL could not recover from.. On defense we will add a couple of new high pick DL. The back 7 are okay , they played at a high level until injuries to Brisker, Sweat, Gordon, Billings and the Stevenson fiasco. We can stand pat with Stevenson and Edmunds and hope a new coach picks up their play. You cant replace everyone on a roster because they were injured or had a bad year. Williams, Pickens, Jacob Martin, and even Austin Booker has shown some flashes. Dexter will excel next year and K Walker is a steady player. If we bring back Allen a late round WR to develop will do . We havent been throwing the ball to Kmet so Everett is not going to have good stats because of snaps, not because he is a bad player. If we fix the OL, Swift and Johnson will be mre effective and Ian Wheeler will be back from injury for added depth. We can get by with 4 high profile draft picks and a few high profile FAs plus resigning some of our own free agents. That's not 18 new players . Pickens injuries got him a wasted year. He transformed his body like Dexter but we never got to see the results. Normal progression of young players have to be figured in our plans. We cant write off everyone.
  15. I think we definitly need someone to work with Caleb but if Johnson fails as a HC we wont be much better than we are right now. Caleb has the talent that will shine thru whether its with the perfect OC or an average one. A good defense and running helps Caleb just as much as a perfect OC.
  16. In a way this is a good thing that it happened, then iit will force whoever is GM to address that position with our top 40 picks. If we sign Trey Smith and bring back Jenkins on a cheap contract, LT is a priority. I think Bill Murray showed enough to bring back to compete with Jenkins at LG. Shelton can get us by until a rookie OC is developed. Unless we sign a vet like Ryan Kelly or Dave Dalmen, that is probably what we end up with. There is no OC rated high enough to be a started day 1 unless we do something out of the box. Rookie/Kiran/Jones at LT Jenkins/Murray/Kiran- rookie at LG Shelton/Bates/rookie at OC Trey Smith/rookie/ Pyror at RG Wright/rookie/Pryor at RT. Only LT needs to be addresses in our first 3 picks. After Banks Jr and Will Campbell the OTs drop off until 2nd round grades anyway. If needed we could find a starting rookie OG with our #73 pick, many are rated high at that part of the draft. 2 DL and 2 OL can fill our important needs right away and with a couple of FAs we are back in business.
  17. I understand players end up being who they are. Braxton was an excellent pick for a 5th rounder but just has not grew into a top flight LT. He is a journeyman type, he wasnt a first rounder that didnt work out. He could start on half the teams in the NFL but we need better than that. He would be a perfect swing type T. That doesnt mean Poles failed on that pick. We did not have a first round pick in the 2022 draft . If you look back at OL players that excelled after the first rounf it is a very short list. This was a win for Poles to get by until this point in time. Now we have the draft capital to upgrade the position and have a competent backup. The OL has been a mess because of Jenkins injury issues and the Nate Davis fiascal. Bates only missed one game due to injury up until this year so Poles did not acquire a preinjured FA. Injuries are sometimes random and you cant predict them. Those are why we are a mess, not because of Braxton Jones.
  18. I think this is a realistic draft. I would assume Banks and Campbell is gone at 9 so this happens.
  19. 3 top 40 picks is pretty good assets if we pick right.
  20. The bears arent very good right now. Lions still have many blue chip players still playing. I believe they dont win another game the rest of the year unless Caleb has a great game in him.
  21. He calls a good game kept our bad defense out of place. I would have no problem with him or Vrabel.
  22. Caleb overall had a good day but he holds the ball to long and misses a lot of throws. I just got on here so i dont know if anyone mentioned this, but the defense misses Flus as the playcaller. Everything is in chaos. Nothing is in scync, good players screwing up. Cant wait for the season to get over.
  23. From a few of the sites I have looked at,c Will Campbell and Kelin Banks are ranked top 10 to top 15, so Im not sure either would make it to 20. Also Parker Brasilsford has already siad he is going back to school, so it will take some time for the sites to cacth up to realistic. Other than Wyatt Wium changing to OC, (early to late second) no centers are rated in top 100 playerrs. I think Jared Wilson is top rated and is around the 118 spot Mongo listed him. Probably no true centers would be starting this yr unless its a OT-OG that got moved I seen where Connor Williams who some wanted to sign this yr has retired, he couldnt play well after the surgery in Seattle.
  24. This last year Graham Barton played LT but had some center experience and is now the starting center in Tampa. He was drafted #26 in the first round , he was a highly rated OL which probably would have drafted there anyways because of his ability ti play several positions. Maybe we can draft one of these in the second round
