It's not about where he plays it's another top 10 WR pick. I just don't think they do that. A blue chip DT or a third WR?
-
I think drafting another #1 type WR when you have 2 on the roster will slow down the development of Odunze. I don't see 2 WR picks in the first round 2 years in a row. They will address another position. I think the second T off the board will be Membou. Banks will be first round but not top 15.

I would be very happy with this draft. I would prefer Xavier Restrepo, but don't think they draft one this high. Later in the draft you can get Jimmy Horn or Donte Thornton Jr.
-
There are many players that I would like to see a Bear and unless it's something completely out of left field, I would be happy with many. I try to figure out what they would do. There's only a few DEs rated top 10ish, I have seen Pierce mentioned , no problem. Warren, Jeanty excited. I think they draft DT. I ve seen that some people think Graham may drop to 10. Otherwise I think they draft Grant. I now think they get OL prospects later in the draft. I predict at least 3 more draft picks with trade downs.

If we stay at 10,I would bet Nolen or Grant are our pick. Poles is always into surprising us. With all the rumors no one predicted Thuney or Jackson. Dalman was a logical get because as a center, he money isn't a cap killer I wanted OL pick but your arguments have changed my mind. I think James Pierce is possible also. He could surprise us with a Will Johnson pick also . Just like edge rushers, you never have enough good CBs. Stevenson has casted a lot of doubts. Gordon will be a FA next year. What if he wants 20+?

,When I say core,I don't mean blue chip,I m talking about people they figure to be here for at least 3 years or are under contract. What they see as roster value. Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent Swift, Johnson Moore, Odunze, Zaccheaus Kmet and Smythe Jones, Kiran A,, Wright, Thuney, Dalman, Jackson, Murray, Stromberg, Jordon McFadden Byard, Brisker, Hicks, Owens, Travis Moore Gordon, JJ , Stevenson, Smith, Blackwell , Edwards, Edmunds, Sewell, Ogbongbemiga, Swayze Bozeman Booker, Sweat, Odeyingbo, Billings, Cris Williams, Johnathan Ford, Jarrett, Dexter, Pickens , Daniel Hardy Once we have the draft this will change the list but for now this is their plan.

I agree that selections will have 2026 in mind but this year performance will say more to who we keep and who we get rid of. With Johnson and Dennis Allen, we will see who fits and who doesn't. Edmonds could have a big year in this offense and could stay. Braxton or Kiran might be the stable LT. I think Gordon gets extended before the season starts. By the contracts he is signing is where to start. Example: Dalman and Jackson are here 3 years. Totally think they extend Thuney. Wright and Kiran are here but Jones is the question with the future. If he was on the open market right now he would be getting 15-18 mil. Look at the OTs signed, better than some of those.

Totally agree, as a fanbase, because we had a bad year, right away people want people replaced that are core members of the team. Kmet is a top 10 TE in this league and Johnson will use him. People that think we draft Warren and go 12 scheme a lot is not what Johnson does. Detroit traded hockenson and drafted Laporte. If he likes 12 scheme, why would they trade him? Detroit liked Swift but wasn't going to pay him so they drafted Gibbs. Gibbs player comparison was Swift. We are not drafting a TE, RB or OL at 10. DE or DT makes all the sense period. I hope we trade back several times and get 2 to 3 extra picks and then we can draft all positions. I predict ( trade back) extra picks listed 1 st round DE or DT 2a. DE or DT depending on first pick. 2b. OL 2c. RB 3a open 3b open.

I expect something similar to that scenario. If Warren or Jeanty is there look for Denver to jump up. Payton does stuff like that. The value chart shows Denver pick 20, 51 and 122 for #10.
-
As much as I like all those players, there's no way we are drafting 3 DL with our first 3 picks. The first 2 picks are awesome but I think they pick an OL with pick 41. A RB instead of a WR at 47 and they may wait until 72 for that. I do like Martinez as our power back.

I am trying to guess what Poles does, my personal projection means nothing. If they think the top 3 LT prospects are potentially better than Kiran and Braxton, they will take one. Campbell and Banks have both been projected as guards. Simmons have never been mentioned inside but has the injury concern. If you're taking one they have to have more upside than Kiran at 10. I don't think he will see that. I think an above average DL will be more attractive to them and grab a OL prospect in the second round whether LT or fitting in anywhere. I expect them to extend Thuney, that will solidify the IOL for 3 years. I think AZ was right saying the first round won't be about drafting a backup. A second rounder can sit a yr or two to take over if an OL fails. Depth will matter on a good team since injuries happen all the time. Who's the backup center? Is Bates staying for that? He hasn't been cut yet and they will know about his health. Murray was resigned to backup the guards.
-
Their offensive line was already built and they added the final pieces to finish the offense. Signed Monty and had 2 first round picks, of which Gibbs was one of them. Their team was farther along in development than we are right now. What I find interesting is, the player comparison for Gibbs was Swift.
-
The best RB in the league last year only had one contract. Between injuries and contract demands, they never stay with one team for a career. Jeanty would be splitting carries with Swift, just look at Detroit and snaps. We don't have a premium roster yet to add a last piece. Trade back is the only scenario and add picks and then take a RB. The RB from NC is rated higher than Jeanty by some pundits. Seen a draft review of Banks. He was playing great his first 5 games last year, then broke something , came back and played bad. Who you getting the before or after Banks?

This talks about everyone to pick at 10. https://www.youtube.com/live/h2hn0VMLF4U?si=x-ktAseJPUb4md36

Last year Kiran A was the 60th rated player in the draft. Late 2nd projection. The injury obviously dropped him down. If he came out this year he would be a late first round draft pick. He has all the traits of a good NFL LT. Strength, quickness and 36" arms. I would say Banks, Simmons and Campbell would be rated higher but he has great traits for LT. We are underestimating his potential. He has one 1 year of adjusting to the NFL even though it was a disaster, he should have never been on the field. That wasn't his fault. He is one step ahead of any rookie we would draft other than maybe Campbell.( Who I thinks ends up inside) . He definitely is the competition to Braxton this year that makes me think we don't draft a LT at 10. I would like us move back to the back of the first round and take Zabel. He could back up every position on the OL and be a future starter if something fails. We would get extra picks that could add to DL, RB, TE, S and WR. We add enough picks to add another prospect on the OL later in the draft. ( Joshua Gray) Is an upside prospect rated around 160 position.

I listen to a podcast and they talked about getting a high end WR would slow development of Odunze. I think if we didn't have Allen last year he would have shined better. We have 2 #1 type WRs that you are taking the ball out of their hands. Feature DJ, Odunze and Kmet and we will be a successful offense.
-
I agree, is Jeanty better of course but would the # 10 be used to upgrade a weaker positional group help the team more? Johnson runs a 2 RB system to keep the defense off balance all the time. We need to feature Caleb in our offense not a load back.
-
My only problem with Simmons is how much will he be available during training camp? Olin was talking about Kiran A, and stated after training camp, the teaching aspect is over during the regular season. When he made that start that he looked bad, it was like walking off the street and thrown into a game. Training camp is necessary for rookies. I fear the same scenario for Simmons as Kiran. I would have no problem with Grant at 10 either.
-
If it really is BPA, likely it's not a OL at # 10. With all spots covered as starters in the OL (assumed they let Braxton/ Kiran play out), it's probably DL ( Jarrett is 32, Billings has one year left, Pickens hasn't shown up yet) . Will Johnson should be there and Stevenson has questions and Gordon has one more year left. We need to draft one quality OL in the top 3 that is multi positional. We have to add to the OL room every year. That's how you sustain success. DE is always a possibility but a couple highly rated Stewart and Williams leave me with concerns. I would be okay if we took Grant at 10. I think a Landon Jackson could be a perfect fit but 10 is too early.
-
If we stay at 10 BPA seems more than likely. I think Membou is the second OL off the board, then Banks- Booker. I don't think Pearce fits Allen's defense so would they grab Grant or Nolen, the next best DTs. It could be Jeanty or Warren but I don't think they will do that. There's a few WRs slated top 10 but we have 2 star WRs, are we going add a third to detract from them? I don't think so. The CB Will Johnson may be the wildcard and replace Stevenson that still has something to prove.
-
The draft will determine if those positions have new starters. Braxton and Kiran will attack the LT position untill they prove they can't get better. If we draft Jeanty then that explains itself. My point was they are done with big contracts and will bring in a few vets but doubt any as starters. What they pick and where will tell it's own story as to if they think they will be our new starters.
-
Since we signed Jackson to extra years, I thought he would be a one and done and figured him for that spot next year. I'm not saying to take him at 10 but with trade backs, in the 20s. He could very well end up at LT also. All we need is one starter to go down to throw the OL in chaos. A potential starter at any spot is still a good idea. I heard Olin Kreutz talking and the eagles drafted Cam Jurgins to take Kelce s spot 2 years before he did. All the OL is basically here for 3 years minus Braxton but what if every year has one major injury, he fill in anywhere. He won't be there in the second round.
-
As far as starters, we can roll out with no more additions. Everyone we add now are backups. OZ, Scott could get us by. Samon Toure, john Jackson are still on the roster. Could Ian Wheeler be our 3 rd back? Wasn't he going to be a kick retuner before he got hurt? We have draft picks to add. Every position could be upgraded but nothing is a must do. As of now we have 3 primary weapons, Kmet, Odunze and DJ, plus Swift and Johnson.
