Im just jacking with because of the stat thing. Normally he is a 4 year 15 mil type of contract but this year will be nuts.
-
That would be awesome but think your dreaming. Our first pick needs to be an impact starter, the next two need to see playing time, but dont see 3 players making an impact in the first year. Last year they hit on Long but although Mills started he wasnt very good most of the time. Bostic ending up starting but wasnt very good. Greene sucked. Unfortunately most rookies take time. Bostic will make improvements this year, Greene has a long way to go. Mills needs to improve and Long is a star. I think out of necessity, the S we draft will play and get better as the year goes on.

He is 11th ranked on your PFF list so he is close to his valve.

Brad Biggs reporting Chi has interest in Bennett
Stinger226 replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
The Viking screwed the scale up,giving a good backup star money is ludicrous. The money Bennett and Johnson will have coming now aint in our budget. Plan B is not a good option but it is all we have. I start spelling things right when you stop with the annoying LOL when you throw out a slam to people. -
I would be happy if just one of those emerged as one of our starters.
-
It looks like Phil's plan will be to go after Bennett,Johnson, the one big deal( I think there is a limit what he plans on spending.) Add depth at S with Mitchell(starter) and Mundy (depth or start if necessary) Add depth at DT with Ratcliff, contacting Mitchell/DT/Hou, more middle level signings. Add depth at DE with Scott, Lane and an attempt at a DE plum I think he will try to set draft up so we can take the BPA at almost any position by filling the team with FAs at his price.
-
It didnt need fixin, I meant that if we get our potential starters at S at a reasonably price does that leave us a couple more mil to address bringing Tillman back. Our defensive backfield will be set for year, other than a couple later picks to add the youth. I hope your right on the Bennett signing, my negativity is only about how much we spend, not the player himself.
-
On many sites he is listed as the #1 DT out there. He got 8.5 mil on a tag, and wouldnt sign a contract.
-
Does anybody think if we upgrade the S position right away with good deals that that means we have more money left to bring back Tillman?
-
Your right, Mundy to high, Mitchell a little low. Phil has a plan, so far I think we go after Bennett, the one big contract. I think we have a fair deal to offer him but if one gets crazy it wont be here. It seems he has Mitchell projected as a starter, Mundy more of a 2nd tier action in case we cant find another starter, wiii be adequate. He will have one name we dont expect and will pop on us out of the box.

Players are starting to fall so what does that tell us? Henne/QB--2 year-8 mil Cassal/QB-2 year-10 mil Probably means we say good bye to McCown--a better QB than the two mentioned and we wont be paying that kind of money for a backup QB Shields/CB-4year-39 mil Ross/CB-1 year-570 k Greenwood/CB-1 year-570 k Grimes/CB-4 year-32 mil Hall/CB-4 year-17 mil Hayden-1 year-840k Probably means Peanut will be closer to Hall (30) money I would say a 2 year 6.5 mil(dont see the Bears paying that) Pollard/S-2 year-6.3 Allen/S- 1 year-955k Stuckey/S-4 year-? Were looking at Mundy and Mitchell I would say contracts if we sign them will be around 3 year-8 to 10 mil range Peters/DT-1 year-1.5 mil Pitoutua/DT-3 year-9.6 Baker/DT-3 year-9 mil Ratcliff/DT-2 year- 4 mil Melton is the key but by what contracts are given so far would say he is looking for a 1 year deal for 6 mil or 3 year 22 mil. Ear Mitchel has been contacted by Bears 6-3 308-26 years old probably a 3 year 7.5 contract Hardy/DE-1 year-13.1 mil Bryant/DE-4 year-17 mil Dawson/DE-1 year-855k Cunningham/DE-1 year-755k Lee/DE-1 year-vet min Scott/DE-1 year-vet min We are going after Bennett that is going to cost around 4 year 39 mil which is still in question if we go that high(hoping we do) I think we get Wootten back around 4 year 11 mil Other names we are suggested we are interested in Ayers,Johnson.,Griffin,Young
-
I think someone will outbid us for him, something like a 3 year 21mil deal is about all we will go.. Red Bryant got a 4 year 17 mil. His injury cost him.
-
Besides Bennett names we have contacted are the above mentioned Mitchell and Mundy, also I have seen DT Mitchell formally of Houston.
-
I like all of your names, Bromley is going to surprise somebody. I read an article about explosive players and they used some of their combine stats to put the formula together and his name was mentioned. Always have been on the Martin wagon and like Bailey.
-
Actually Bullough is an interesting player, good athlete and played at a high level until he screwed up personally.
-
Most writers are figuring what we will spend and then throw names out there that fit in that price range. Fact is almost anybody is an upgrade over what we had. Look back at the quiet signing of Jenning his first year.A descent player. Now he has visited the pro bowl and got a decent payday, that is the type we will find out there.
-
I dont think anybody said he sucked, just doesnt have the same valve being he is limited to doing one thing.
-
The Young name is only my prediction that they wont go top dollar with a player, but I hope Im wrong, I advocated Bennett since his brother brought it up.
-
What the site does is rates players and team needs and software does the draft, so probably not realistic but something to play with.
-
Fanspeak has a (do your own draft) This is how the lastest turned out for me and I basically going with BPA 1-Greg Roberson/OT/Aub---------he was there so I had to take him-Bushrod to RT? Mills goes inside? 2-Stephen Truitt/DE/ND-best DL on board at tie-athletic with upside 3-Cris Borland/MLB/Wis- still there and could start day 1 4-Anthony Johnson/DT/LSU- not top rated but highly respected, will play first year 5-Antone Exum/S-CB/VT- could play either position a good valve here 6a-De Thomas/Ore-adds to a already good O 6b-M. Huff/S-CB/Wyo-can play either position- good stats and good speed Now its your turn to show what you got http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/
-
Would love to have him here, and I think he would play for less to stay with us, but the 3 -4 mil range he will be in wont be in our budget.
-
I like the name but think Sporles carries more money than we will be willings to spend. McCluster can carry the ball, be a slot WR and return kicks, I would see him making our O so much better.
-
I will predict our FAgency moves so everybody can ignore my hits and condemn my misses Our own: Wootten D. J. Williams N. Collins Bowman Tillman-I think he ends up back and we lose Melton Britton Palmer Others: W. Young?DE-I think they add someone young with upside and dont win out on big names bidding wars C.Clemons/S- A solid younger player J.Arenas/CB-just a backup but can be a KR Dexter McCluster/RB-a speed backup to Forte-SWR- and KR Probably wont be right on any of these picks but this is not who I want but think the Bears will add due to cap restraits. Not its your turn to put your name on it

Wow we agree on something, no class.
