The problem is (the getting older thing), he has never been injury prone, but as you see last year age starts to have its toll on a body. The problem is do we give him a 12 for 2 years contract and then he ends up not playing 4 to 8 games? The more you spend on him the less you have to get good backups or other positions. It is better to let a player go one year early than a year to late. Urlachers leadership was missed last year, but his play wouldnt have changed anything, his time was done. It isnt my money so I would take the chance and bring him back, but they have to figure the valve of it. They made the right call on Urlacher, so we will see if they make the right call here.

Impact DE are very few this year, not even sure if Ealy is that but he has the second highest potential of a DE in this draft. DTs are important but a little deeper in strength. I was routing for BPA with Mosley and still would not be mad about that pick, but we have to start up front, and you talked me into that. Kudos for that. No this is not a thread about SCS or AG, I am referring to players we dont want to see us draft. I dont wish to take the chance on Nix being a good player because of his injury history. It is hard to say how his pro career works out, tons of talent but we have drafted to many players in the past that never lost that injury tag and turned out crap. Also I obviously wouldnt like to see us draft any offensive players at least in the first two rounds. We have so many holes to fill, I actually wouldnt want to see any before the 5th round. Lets say Jake Mathews drops to our spot, a clear top 5 prospect everywhere. What do we do? If were going by BPA, I would say they would take him, but at 14 there still has to be some clear cut defensive studs on the board and have to go that way. What say you?

I am hopeful for that but not banking on SMC being a good player. He has the athletic traits, just not sure he can put it all together to be a productive player.

You make a lot of sense with your opinions. There are only 2 sure things IMO then its a crap shoot. I also like Martin and Murphy as being starters in there first year. Louis Delmars was cut today from Detriot. The last two years he has been plagued by injuries,Detroit cut him because of the price of his contract this year. He was due to make 6 mil on a one year extension and they needed the cap space. If he can over come his injuries he would be a much better player than our two starters last year. He will come reasonable and I think we should kick the tires on him.

NFL Mock Drafts did a first round with trades: we traded our 14th pick for SFs, 30,62,94 and 4th in 2015. then we trade SFs 30 th pick to Jacksonville for 39, 4th(101) 5th(132) and 6th(163) so we end up with : I used Draft Teks list mainly because its 7 rounds 39-Donald/DT/Pitt 51-Fuller/CB/Clem 62-Smith/DE/Ark 82-Borland/MLB/Wis 94-Bucannon/SS/WasSt 101-Brooks/FS/FloSt 113-Carrethers/DT/ArkSt 132-Jean-Baptiste/CB/Neb 144-Fales/QB/SJS 163-Bodine/OC/NC 167-Huff/FS/Wyom 175-Ried/DT/PRIN I will try to find a more realistic 7 rd draft. Just dont think some of them players will be there that late.
