Kmet is a valuable asset and is signed thru 2027. Calebs contract ends at the same time so he will at least be here until Caleb gets a big contract. Cole will be 28 when his contract ends so chances of another contract are thin but a lot can happen between now and 2027. Loveland has a higher ceiling but who knows about future injuries or other situations that could occur.
-
I seen bleacher report Chargers site that had 2 different proposed trades put forth. One was trading for Kmet for a 4th or 5th round pick. Reasoning was drafting Loveland makes Kmet expendable. Another one was trading for DJ Moore using the same logic. Drafting Burden means Moore is expendable. I guess its not just Bears fans that visit LaLa Land during the preseason.

That makes sense, Im not sure when they are responible to set the cap space. They are allowed a 90 player roster so it would have to be later in the year to set the cap amount after they start cutting players. They still have to establish a operating total for the season which she put us under water.
-
I thought the rookie cost for each spot drafted were already self determined. Pick # 10 is listed as 4.5 mil. I know last year Rome got 4.1 mil as the 9th pick. Kiran A got 1.3 mil as a third round pick.
-
They can play with the cap besides cutting a few players. As of today OTC shows us at 10.6 mil in cap space. They estimate our rookie pool as 13.3 mil. which will put us underwater. We also have to add operatiing capital thru the yr. Last year is was around 9 mil. So we have around 12 mil to come up with. Being under the cap I dont see us signing anymore quality signing until after training cap starts. OTC shows us as having 38.4 mil going into next yr as of now.

Rapoport , Schifter and Pelisserio seem to be the closest to insiders in the NFL . They seem to report stuff first 90% of the time.
-
If Caleb doesnt excel in this envirorment, we will have to question his potenial going forward. Of course, being a glass half full type I expect a pro bowl type of performance.
-
Wasnt Watson(GB) a speed guy when he came out?
-
Golden has great speed and could turn into a beast but lots of speed guys never really succeed at the NFL level.
-
It is expected for sure but this guy/ Archer G. Faith reported they did. He claims to be a Bear insider. Probably just another pundit makling BS claims. Its been 3 yrs of people claiming inside information and hasnt gotten anything right yet.
-
Has anyone ever seen these guys before? Are they Chicago guys? I started watching this and the first Question: Does Caleb have everything to succeed? They questioned the weapons because some are new and not proven yet.. Then in the second question about Kmet being here in the future, Loveland is a better TE so he might be gone in 2 yrs. So Loveland is unproven and then in the second question, he is better than Kmet. Isnt that counterdicting yourself?

This has to be the best trade in Bears history. Does anyone recall a better one>
-
i seen this reported on X, but only seen one source . Has anyone else seen any reports? With all the false rumors being reported I always try to find a couple reliable sources.

You just see what you want to see and never understand my points. You turn them into your thought process. Its not even worth discussing things other than football with you. I wont make that mistake again. Actual this started with a comment I made about Adam, and you have to jump in with your negative opinion on my point. Some things are just beyond your understanding.
-
These are just someones opinion. If you're close to the Bears you see weaknesses being fixed. Last year almost everyone predicted us to do much better than we did. Now they are being reserved on their predictions to not look bad.

Didnt know where to stick this but interesting take on stuff.

Great post to look at with the possiblity of that happening in the next few yrs. Where did you find that , I would like to know how much of a running game they had those yrs. In 2022 KC had almost 2000 yds rushing

i was traveling so I never responded to this. there is absolutely positive and negative aspects to human nature that everyone leans one way or the other. That is where the half glass empty / half full analogy came from. ;By the way it is always changing according to how we deal with life. Its not a true statement constantly. I plumbed for 50 yrs but went to school to be a therapist and took enough sociology courses to know what that is . Example: I remember whe Fields had that game where he had 16 consecative complitations and people were talking about it and your comment was ( that was good but he wasnt hitting his first read very often_) that quote is not exact but something like that . Everyone was liking it and that's what you come up with because you didnt like him and was looking for something to say negative. The only reason I remember it because it was an odd thing to say after throwing 16 in a row and looking like he could be our QB of the future.

This is our most dangerous offense -EVER DJ Moore is one of the best WRs in the league. I think over his career he is ranked 9th among current players. Last year 9th in receptions 9th in targets 26th in yardage 28th in TDS this was on a dysfuntanal offense with a rookie QB. In 2023 2nd team all pro. Rome Odunze is a second year player with pro bowl potenial Cole Kmet is the 9th TE in the league 28th in targets 22nd in catches 25th in recieving yards 13th in TDs on a dyfunctional offense with a rookie QB CBS has him ranked 9th after a poor staticical season. Colston Loveland is the top receiving TE in the draft. Compared to Sam LaPorta that is ranked 3rd in the league Luther Burden was the best YAC WR in this draft. Compared to Odell Becum Jr. DeAndre Swift made the Pro Bowl in 2023 while playing for Philly , a bad OL affected his play , terrible play calling, a rookie QB

It takes 3 yrs to judge drafts as most speak of so we look at 2022 to see how the draft worked out. Here are every OT drafted in 2022 up to pick 168. The best LTs in the draft were Charles Cross at 10 ( ranked 11th) Bernard Raimann at 77 (ranked 4th) Braxton Jones at 168( ranked 20th. ) At 6) Carolina took Ikem Ekwonu . He is a good run blocker but not good as pass blocking. PFF grade Ranked 38th out of 140 Ts- PBG 65th-RBG 11th. 909 snaps 12 penalties 7 sacks At 7) Giants took Evan Neal . Overall 73th- PBG 111th-RBG 9th 459 snaps 6 penalites 2 sacks Hes playing RT At 10 )Charles Cross. Overall 11th- PBG 15th -RBG 16th 1094 snaps 8 penalities 6 sacks At 15) Kenyon Green playing LG At 19) Trevon Penning ranked 75th 1081 snaps 13 penalites 5 sacks playing RT At 24) Tyler Smith playing guard At 57 ) Luke Goedeke ranked 30th 905 snaps 10 penalties 3 sacks playing RT At 67) Joshua Ezeudu plays guard 10 starts in 33 games. At 69) Nicholas Petit-Frere playing RT ranked 122th 621 snaps 10 penalites 10 sacks At 72) Abraham Lucas plays RT ranked 60th 406 snaps 6 penalites 4 sacks At 77) Bernard Raimann LT ranked 8th 856 snaps 6 penalites 4 sacks At 110 ) Daniel Faalele playing RG At 111) Max Mitchell backup At 140) Zack Tom plays RT raked 4th 1068 snaps 7 penalites 3 sacks At 145) Darian Kinnard backup now playing guard At 168) BRAXTON JONES plays LT ranked 20th 719 snaps 7 penalites 5 sacks PFF rates every play but you can hold judgement on how good they are but at least they give you a complete set of stats to compare players to. Easy to say LTs drafted high give you your best chances at good players. It wasnt a good example in 2022. It was considered a good year for Ts with 3 being drafted in the top 10. So what can you get out of this these results from 2022? Instead of putting our draft results somewhere else: we didnt have a first round draft took Kyler Gordon at 39) I dont anyone would say this was not a good pick took Brisker at 48 ) started 35 of 51 games. Injuries robbed him of 12 games this year. You would say that was a successful draft pick as he has a high end ceiling . Injuries are a question but you didnt know that in 2022 took Velus Jones at 71) Poles as a first year GM was getting flack for not having enough WR help for Justin Fields and I believed he reached for Jones because of his speed. Big failure No 4th round pick at 168) took Braxton Jones this was a absoulute great pick started from day 1 At 174) Dominick Robinson , he is still around but was a failed pick as of 5/5 2025 At 186) Zacharey Thomas he got stolen off our PS but never amounted to anything At 203) Testan Ebner not in the league anymore At 207) Doug Kramer still on the roster backup At 226) Ja'Tyre Carter not in the league anymore At 224) Eligah Hicks a vaulable backup with 15 game starts At 225) Tenton Gill was our punter for 3 yrs. V Jones was a clear failure otherwise this was a successful first year draft for Poles. If I remember we had 6 picks and he turned them into 11 .

I just noticed where we are more interested in JK Dobbins, and also we inquired with Seahawks on the availability of Walker Jr. Everybody is so full of it.
-
I believe so. I knew very little about anyone we picked but been watching all the tape I can find on our draftees and I get it. Monangai is an excellent compliment to Swift. Pass blocks well and NO fumbles. That's a good prospect to be hopeful for.

Monangai highlights against a stout Ohio State game in 2023 https://youtu.be/XxwrQ1WMe3M?si=zUmNALBfsVSOPKs3

I think they all drop off some as we got a lot better. Detroit/ new coaches, GB/ love not getting better, Minnesota/ new QB,
-
Facts we know Johnson has a great offensive mind Caleb has top 5 potential The OL is better The offensive weapons are plentiful We question the running game but we have a better play caller, improved OL, no more 8 in a box Monangai will remind you of David Montgomery May not be day one but this offense will score points, control the ball and keep the defense off the field
