Caleb is starting to shine, Burden had two TDs today and Dom Rob is getting a lot of first team reps.
-
I hope all three play well and its a hard decision to who starts. The better talent we have for depth makes this team better. At this point, Ozzy seems to be out front but Jones is in pads and we'll find out who wants it more.

As the roster is right now, there are 58 players under 26 years old on the roster. As much as the stars have different ages, I think Poles is building this to have a significate run starting this year.

You need to run for politics you have the truth gene and its amazingly put in this post.

Caleb is starting to look better in practice. They say Case and Tyson look better in the offense than Caleb does right now. The strength of Caleb was on display last year, not in the every down play but when the game was on the line at the end of games when he was spectacular on how he reacted at the end of games. He has some bad habits to change which will take some time. We have to remember BJ jumped on the Bears job because of Caleb, I trust his judgement.

Every team has a different draft board and is not based on pundits rating in a draft. I dont know if Ozzy will be as good as Banks or Ersery but they had a plan to take him in the second. They like you agreed they needed to add to LT, just the plan was a little different. I love CC, but she works for ESPN and they get stuff wrong all the time. Being wrong on a prediction in media is a common occurance. The just of all the arguments is we will never know what is true or not true, just a point of discussion.
-
I never said she made it up, because her sources doesnt seem to be reliable and she didnt know at the time. Everyone gets stuff wrong but may have come from an honest place.

She was reporting on the information she had. None of this really matters now, its just when the draft was happening I said I didnt think we were going to move up for a RB because I think BJ liked Swift better than the preception we had to have a #1. I dont have inside sources or anyone I trust saying this. Before the draft Poles was talking about not having enough draft picks and needed to get some. To move to get Jeanty I think it would have took maybe both #2s and a 1 next year. Maybe one #2, our 4th and a #1 next year and a third. No one knows how that would have played out. In the second he did trade a high #2 for 2 lower #2s. BJ came here and said we need this this and this. and I dont think it ever was a #1 RB in the draft. TO ME they seem to have had a plan, Loveland, Ozzy, Turner, Burden was never in a plan but being available changed the draft for Bears. I am not even saying Jeanty would not have been worth what it would have cost, just dont think that was a plan. After the draft they never said they were trying to move up for Jeanty. Maybe if everything was true, it doesnt hurt after the fact. So I dont believe it was ever part of their plan. Its an opinion and no one knows anything because they never stated afterwards what they wanted.

The first day of pads , the one and ones between OL and DL, the OL keeps winning. A real good sign. Beat writers are saying everyone looks good, all the LTs.

Nashon Wright getting a lot of snaps in place of JJ being hurt. He was in Dallas when Al Harris was there and he recomended him. 6'4" 190 with man coverage skills. The only 40 time I could find was 4.49 speed. Was on Minnys PS last year and practiced against Viking WRs. He may be a gem in the rough. Al Harris is well respected and likes him and wanted us to draft Zak Frazier. We will soon find out how smart Al Harris really is.

Plenty of decisions to condemn Poles for but here we are in the 4th year of a rebuild and we are ready to shine. The most important decisions Poles did was draft Caleb and hire BJ. I am happy we are at this point in time of all the ducks are align in a row, and dont care how he got here, we are here. Its time to deliver and I believe this is the year we become playoff bound.

Somebody likes taking everything I say and wants to argue about it. I was being sarcastic. After the draft she said apparently the price was to high. I suggest, it was never in play.
-
I think we hit gold.

Okay ( narrative ) was a bad choice of words. I seen her on 4 podcasts and she was very positive that this would happen, suggested inside info. Do you want me to find the 4 podcasts or are we good she was pushing that this was highly likely to happen? And we didnt do it.

Pads go on Monday so all questions will be answered. I wish Jones was up to speed and played well that would give us a tradable asset if Ozzy plays well and Kiran is coming along. At least it would project him getting and over 20 mil contract and get a comp 3rd round pick. I think if Ozzy and Kiran are equal they go with Ozzy that looks to have more upside. Kiran is valuable because we need quality depth. Having Braxton and Kiran to back up OTs is a good thing for depth.

Yes its a wasted 3rd round pick but to suggest we missed out on Puka is reaching. He was pick 177, everyone passed on Puka many times. Looking back at drafting and then finding players that did well in the draft behind Scott is wasted breath. Those statements should be made when the draft is complete, like we should have took Puka instead before knew how good he was. I like CC a lot, a very well spoken smart lady of football, but she is good at pushing narratives. Before the draft she said insiders said we were trading up to 5th pick and taking Jeanty. I seen 4 different podcasts she was guested on and was liike guarranting it. Then after the fact, the cost of the trade was to much cost. I think if Jeanty was there at 10, we would have taken him but they wanted more draft picks not trading them away. The Raiders were definitily going to take him, I think the Bears planned on how the draft was going to fall and expected to take Loveland. BJ said every job was in competetion and JP getting reps and Scott invisible lets us know, he's gone.
-
Totally, repetition is how you learn the new techniques. BJ will demand he learns that and he will eventually succeed at it. Caleb is a smart player, not just a QB, he will adapt to new ideas as he goes along.

Here's a projected 53 man roster. I do not agree that Tyler Scott makes the WR room. J P Richards has been spectacular in camp. I say him. https://chicago.suntimes.com/bears/2025/07/27/bears-projecting-53-man-roster-90-caleb-williams-ryan-poles-ben-johnson-nfl-training-camp

I think the components are here to get there quicker than he did in Detroit but it is a process. I predict after the bye week, we will be rolling.
-
Spot on. With all the noise on bad offense, the only one Im listening to is what BJ says. He said this is normal ramp up to showing signs of life. He's right on track.

The running game is in good hands. People overreact to the unknown but its actually not. A leading rusher in the Big Ten 2 yrs in a row is a good resume. https://beargoggleson.com/it-took-one-play-at-bears-training-camp-for-rookie-to-threaten-veterans-jobs
