  1. I/ve been looking at a lot of draft stuff because the team forced me too. Banks and Campbell are the only 2 top 12 prospects . I would be happy with either.
  2. The problem would be for them as it has been for Odunze. Target share and inconsistant QB play. With Allen leaving DJ and Odunze will be top targets and we may get a coach that throws to a TE. Another coach may view Scott as a target, he has speed.
  3. Milum has played center before he is the one player that could start day 1 if used that way in this draft.
  4. I think as much as we condemn the HC and OC, Morgan has to take the blame for a lot of the woes in the OL. He seems to be escaping critizm for some reason.
  5. I dont disagree with all of that but I think the main assets will be used in the OL and DL. A S would be smart but you have only so many assets to fill spots. Eligha Hicks had played well for Brisker and then he got hurt. Terrell Davis filled in for snaps Stevenson missed and as a whole the DB room is not a priorty. It would be nice to add to any group for an upgrade but we could live another year with the back 7 if we upgrade the D front. JJ, Stevenson , Byard, T Smith, Hicks, Owens, and Gordon are under contract for next yr. I think they bring back Blackwell and Jaaylon Jones as both have shown some good moments. Later in the draft I expect a S and CB to be added but our first 4 picks will be the trenches.
  6. I didnt go thru and check when injuries occured but thru week 11, we had 1 team score 29, 1 team 21 and 1 team 20. Thru 10 games we gave up 187 points. We played Washigton, Rams, Texans and Packers in that time, they all have winning records. The Cardinals were acually 4-4 when we played them. Billings got injured in the AZ game and Sweat was inactive for that game. After the Hail Mary , the culture turned to crap and everything went down hill from there. The AZ game had our 2 top DLs out and the Stevenson hangover when we gave up the 29 point game. Clearly the defense was playing better the first part of the season except the AZ game with players missing. I dont see how me saying the defense was better the first half of the season when Flus was still around was out of line. We were 4-2 when the team blew up and everything started falling apart. Hard to blame that on the defense. 187 points in 10 games is not bad defense.
  7. What I would like to see is Vrabel with Dabolll the OC. Not sure Daboll gets a HC that quickly.
  8. We had the same system last year and Kmet had 73 catches with 719 yds and 6 TDs. It all came down to Waldron not using him and the growig pains of a rookie QB.
  9. When Brisker was playing and the the DL didnt have injuries the defense was playing at a high level. I hate to say this but after Flus left this defense flat out was worse. Now injuries piled up but the defense is a couple of DL away but being good. I think we may have to draft another S because of the Brisker situation but Byard is more than sound right now. LBers are fine, Ednunds hasnt had a good year but if he wasnt making big money he would not be picked on as much. the defense needs 2 DL and maybe fraft a S later. Poles definitly failed but you keep blaming him for people getting injuries and every team has that and that isnt his fault. I heard the assiant GM in Detriot may be a package deal with Johnson which may be a sound deal. If we fire Poles then we have to go thru the process of a GM hire and then let him hire the coach. I think that may take to much time and miss out on a great coach hire. I would be okay if they hit the road running hire the coach and lets go forward. I think he deserves to be fired but all new would put us thru a couple of years of changing everything. On offense we need 3 OL and replace Allen if they dont bring him back. Adding another RB would not hurt anything either. IF we fix the OL the power RB (johnson) and Swift will do just fine. We also have Ian Wheeler as an option. We easliy have the assets to fix this to put us in the playoffs next year with the right coach.
  10. I totally get an individual ref could be bought but to have several conspice together would almost be impossible. Its not just about getting fired if caught but go to jail for that . Not only do the refs get together to get the call right but the NFL has refs in the NFL offices overseeing their choices. I think incompetence is much more possible and have bias to the good teams and why they get more calls.
  11. Im not saying he wont make the right choices but at Minny he built a stadium and had nothing to do with personel choices or football decisions. He is a lawyer by trade. He wants to get more involved in day to day operations but was brought in to build a stadium. (not done yet). he was hired after Poles so i think he was just a sounding board for Poles not the decision maker. He was head of the Big 10 and the reason Harbaugh did not come in here for an interview. Jim wanted to come here and he stopped it. I think he wants to be a politician and why he keeps playing games with Chicago to get a stadium downtown. I think he goal is to be Mayor of Chicago. Winning a SB would help that but he does not have ecperience running a football team. He has the power now and will control the future but not sure a rookie lawyer making decisions on the football side could be full of mistakes.
  12. The narrative that no good coaches would want to come here is fiction. Gruden, Carroll, Vrabel might pick here first. There are going to be more job openings pop up, so I would like to wrap a coach up immediately when the season ends . All 3 of them are available now. \ The more I read about Carroll the more I think he would be good here. 73 was the turnoff but he is a health freak full of energy. Hasnt touched sugar for 0 yrs, tells me he is very disciplined but also a health fixture. Sugar is bad for the body. I think all three of those coaches are culture setters, the players would be held accountable and no bu**sh*t accepted. Vrabel is the yougest and could be here 10 yrs from the hopefully length of Calebs career here. I cant predict who would be better, I would take any of them. I know they all would demand a competent OL.
  13. They have to out on routes so they can not get the ball thrown to them.
  14. Of course it is very possible a ref in one game could make a bad call to change a game. They have been huddling after a call to get the calls right on a lot of plays, you need several involved to get a call pushed thru, chances of that are very thin. I think incompetance is a reasonable take also.
  15. The problem is Borom, Curhan suck but who is behind them to take there place? Theo Benedet-Cris Glaser-Ricky Stromberg? Those are the only people left on the roster.
  16. Caleb may be the future but missing a wide open WR 12 yards down the field isnt a good look and he does that a lot.
  17. Bill is 1 year younger than Pete.
  18. Vrabel has something Johnson does not, HC exerience. You can project all you want but we do not know how our new coach will fare . I like the fact Vrabel doesnt have to go thru a learning on the job scenario. Being a HC that was success and failure , he will learn from his mistakes. Johnson has to do that in real time. If we bring Johnson in here he will have to tutor Caleb run an offense and be a HC, that is a lot on his plate his first year. Vrabel will not be tutoring Caleb, running the offense. Who he brings in to do that will be important but I trust his NFL experience to know what to do. Another thing to consider is will they want to come here? There will be other jobs available that will probably offer more money. Our advantage is Caleb but examples like Geon Smith and Sam Darold that other QBs that can give you success are out there to. Mayfield bounced around and now is successful in TB. Other bad teams will have a chance to draft a QB also. will the new coach want to groom their own prospect that they will not get here? I'll be happy with any of the 3 but think the first year Vrabel or Gruden would be off the bus running, Johnson will not.
  19. If people find Carroll atractive wasnt Belicheck the ultimate choice? More of everything? I dont want an old (John Fox ) type brought in. I like the thought of Jon Gruden but he is 61. Mike Vrabel age is 49, Johnson is 38. I want a coach that will be here for the duration of the Caleb Williams era. These 3 fit that, Carroll does not. Williams has enough talent to overcome an average coach. Obviously a great coach takes us to a SB. Caleb has his ups and downs this year and all can not be blamed on bad coaching. As a rookie he has some growing to do. Joe Burrow was the last great QB to come into the league. He started 10 games and went 2-7-1. 65%-2688-13-5 and was sacked 32 times. Some may argue CJ Stroud but in his second year on a good team but his shine has come off, just not playing as well . 62.7%-3677-19-12 and sacked 52 times. Caleb Williams 62.2%-3271-19-5 and sacked 60 times. In his rookie season he has endered Waldron-Flus and a limited Tom Brown. Vast number of injuries that has effected the OL an early successful D . I would be happy with Vrabel-Johnson-Gruden. Next yr will look totally different. By the way; Caleb Williams-442 yds rushing Joe Burrow 142 yds rushing CJ Stroud 167 yds rushing
  20. Carroll recomended Waldron for the OC job. I also heard Ron Rivera name mentioned as a link to the job, a person McCaskeys might like. I would, again , say Jon Gruden if we are digging up old skelitons for the job.
