  1. Let me say that the possibility exists but no way in hell they do that. They are trying to win here, build depth thru the draft and he can take over when a spot is open. We finally have a potential good OL and break it up for a 5 th round pick?
  2. No one is picking Nolen nationally but is a realistic pick for 10 as a sleeper. I'm not trying to suck up to AZ but I would love some Kenneth Grant at 10. He would play the NT spot where Nolen is a 3 T where we have Dexter and Jarrett already. My sleeper pick is Will Johnson/CB. I don't think it's a need but Gordons contract is due this year and Stevenson still has to prove himself. Edge and CB are the two most valuable spots, contract wise, on defense. I would not want this but could understand it.
  3. Why would they do that? You don't acquire talent and then trade it. I think they want the 3 IOL to stay together for the 3 years as they develop draftees behind them. I expect an addition if at least 2 OL, one early and one late.
  4. If they extend him before the season starts, that says everything of their plans.
  5. Since we've filled most of our needs, backups still in question, we will be adding 4 to 5 players that can help this year. They will add to the OL, DL, a RB, a WR, a saftey. We just don't know what the new coaches opinions are on existing players that will go a long way into who we pick high. Johnson may want more weapons that could be Warren or Jeanty. Allen may beg for another edge or top notch Safety. Trying to guess what they will do is almost impossible. I suppose you just say anything and you could be right. I don't think they take WR, QB, or CB that high. Since at 10 will get to pick the second best at nearly every position but TE or RB. The strength of the draft is DT, RB and TE, I would think they get quality later at those positions so for me it's probably DE or LT. Once past the first round, DEs drop off quickly, we should get to pick between Pierce, Williams, Green or Scourton. I didn't include Stewart because I hope we avoid him, no production. I think Pierce, Williams or LT Simmons are our likely choices . I still think we trade back as the first move.
  6. I just don't think they are finished building the OL or DL of which will be high picks. Seen where Bates had a good report on his shoulder. If Poles keeps both Stromberg and Bates, Bates will be the first OG back up unless a high profile draftee takes that spot.
  7. Anyone else think Thumey could play out this year and go back to KC? I can see that happening.
  8. There's a certain group that always goes top 10 regularly. 90% only have Campbell going top 10 but teams drafts are much different than actual projections . Banks could be next to move but have seen a lot of Membou as the second OL off the board. Top 20 usually has Campbell, Banks, Membou and Simmons in them. Booker is the other name that pops up. You only need 1 team to like someone. The key to top 10 is QBs. Is it 2, I've seen 3 pop up. It seems one player always drops and one always rises. Banks could be that player.
  9. So good players go for 4th and 5th round picks. It's better to have a 6th or 7th round pick than quality depth? You make the team OL better by giving it depth on a cheap contract. I only said to being back Jenkins if on a team friendly deal but they traded for an all pro replacement, not needed any more.
  10. That was his only bad year ever. I'm sure they have evaluated his health. As as contracts are becoming, I'm sure instead of waiting until next to extend they think their saving money.
  11. Why they traded Braxton? He would be the swing T. They can move Kiran A to guard for depth .
  12. Explain why it's trash? Proven return guy , speed with some WR potential. They don't have the money to chase an expensive free agent.
  13. If they deem he can be a quality LT, I think they will take him. Most draft mocks have him mid first round not top ten. I totally expect a trade back which creates a better value to take him at. The injury always needs to be considered. 3 big boards have him 17-17-18 with Banks and Membou in front of him.
  14. I just seen where Vegas has our first choice odds of a RB at the best odds. +125
  15. That's why the bears valued Edmund's so much. 6-5 in the middle of the field . The problem with a poor pass rush, the underneath is open to much and where most teams attacked us. That's why Brisker was valuable because he could play that well, when on the field.
  16. I would say 1 OL, 1 or 2 DL and 72 will be the wildcard pick. Our free agent additions were not all young guys, so I see high picks adding to our trenches that need depth and replacement players. I still think trade backs will add a couple picks for other positions.
  17. Devin Duvernay is now a bear. 4.39 speed.
  18. I think if Stromberg is healthy, he could be sitting on the practice squad if needed.
  19. I'm referring to coach Johnson playing 2 backs Swift and drafted player.
  20. I'm referring to coach Johnson playing 2 backs Swift and drafted player.
  21. If Simmons wasn't injured I think he would be the clear #1 LT but he was and many teams will move down board for that factor. Risk factors come in to play that high. Banks looked great his first 5 games, and when he came back very average, risk factor. Membou has the charm of playing great for 4 years but was never a LT, it wouldn't bother me if we did draft him. If I could pick our path and choices, I would move back once or twice and choose Zabel in the late first round, then the DT that drops or TJ Sanders and then Landon Jackson. The extra 2nd or 3rd round trade back pick would get me Junkins or Skattebo. My is 4 picks scenario.
  22. There is a handful of sure top 10 by most pundits. After that every team has a different board. I still think trenches is the priority moves early. Campbell is a top 10 pick and if available a strong possibility but I think he's gone by 10. Edge and DT fall in line next. After Carter Pierce seems to be the next choice of which is possible. DT has several potential top 10 choices Graham, Nolen, Grant are our most likely picks for us. Thuney is still a one year deal. Jackson has some injuries to have risks. Jarrett is older. I think we double down somewhere there. Since LTs are limited I think the BPA will be a DL guy. It's fun to think RB, TE and WR but I don't think we do.
