  1. 7.5 mil a year is an excellent price for a former pro bowl player. You think that's expensive?
  2. Poles was a former player, he absolutely listens to his stars. The scenario where we draft Caleb and keep Fields has always been an option. What better way to keep the moral of the team up by having Caleb earn the respect of the team as he transitions. likely Caleb's first year would be more Young like than Stroud. We can keep winning, treat Fields with respect and the team has time to earn respect for Caleb. Fields always misses a couple of games a year from minor injuries, what better way to transition a new QB than have him earn it and get the team behind him.
  3. Poles has a plan in place and so far , he's doing it before Free agency starts. Byard may only have a few good years left and so he draft one and have him sit behind Byard and learn. I think this is a desirable place to come to with the talent we already have. Plus if we have a QB on a rookie deal, it it opens up the ability to get better veterans. Poles has to win now.
  4. Poles comes from KC, they drafted Mahomes and didn't trade Smith until the next year. Smith was more accomplished than Fields, he has a template from the KC situation. It gives him the chance to raise the trade value of Justin. Poles isn't dumping Fields for chump change, he will likely sit Caleb for a year like they did in KC. We are at the spot in the rebuild where we have to win and a rookie QB is an unknown factor. Justin is a competitor, he's not crying his way out of town. If Caleb has a problem with it , it brings back his red flag character issues that came up before the draft. Mahomes never had a problem with it in KC.
  5. Painting a sad return for Fields if Poles moves on.
  6. I'm not sure anyone on this site doesn't think Caleb isn't talented. It's other reasons they question him being drafted. Intangibles, superego. QBs are just hard to analyze until they play in the NFL. If Poles drafts him and he's better than Mahomes like he claims, I love routing for my team in big games.
  7. I've heard rumors he could be the next QB for the bears. ( He does have an arm)
  8. It's all coming to ahead in the next,10 days, Justin will be gone or the first pick will be traded. The great debate will no longer be the topic.
  9. Live in Rockford, spend January until May in Thailand. That's how I manage. Literally cheaper living here than Florida or Arizona.
  10. Chris Jones is getting a 3 year 95 mil deal from KC . How can they do that while paying 50 to Mahomes?
  11. Zach Frazier should be, he has game.
  12. Of course not I do these all the time and never came up with scenario. I have to trade out of the top 10 to get those results.
  13. Milton as the future QB prospect is how mine always come out. A few times Penix is there in the second round and I take him. How great is it having 2 top 10 picks that Poles will turn into 6 or 7 top 50.
  14. I guarantee you I have watched more tape than you have on every prospect but his great talent is not in question. Its the rest of his intangibles that come in question. Us cultists accept there are other options and try look at everything. You pretend because we think Justin might get better and adding MJH , and Dallas Turner might be a better option but you're not having any of that. I'm okay with your opinion, why are you so disrespectful of people that don't agree you?
  15. Great post logical and well thought out. I have always suggested keeping Fields, loading up on draft picks and let a QB develop for one or two years. They did it in KC with a QB that was never thought to be generational, but Mahomes became that person. Poles is doing the deep dive , if he says Williams, I buying the popcorn, if he does your option, keep JF1 and develop, it's the best of both worlds. Probably the least likely to happen but Poles does not do what is expected.
  16. Its pathetic you can't read , I have already said 50 times that IF, Poles chooses Williams, I accept he made the right choice. You won't see me bring negatives about him going forward. None of that means I have to Crown him king without throwing one ball in the NFL. Your putting him in the Hall of fame already. I never took to time to break his plays down, A ESPN writer did. It's a fact, sorry you don't like that fact.
  17. I seen a breakdown of Caleb's throws for 2023. He literally had 60 plays where he held the ball for over 6 seconds. I would bet Justin never did that his whole career. Because IYO you think everything you state are set in stone, it's not true. There is points on who to go with on both sides. I will accept which choice Poles makes because he fully vetted the prospect. You will not accept, if he chooses Justin. It's OK because you don't have to, but I don't have to buy your opinion totally either.
  18. The post has nothing to do about Field's it's about discussing potential problems with our possible next QB. I'm talking about his dad stating, the rookie QB structure is unfair and I can see him thinking he's that special guy to change the NFL rules. You were one of the biggest proponents to not being sure about Williams character. Now after the combine, didn't work out, didn't do the medicals, E is all of a sudden, the next Mahones. Every high pick has a chance of not being worth where you take them, Williams isn't different. Po!es needs to be sure. He gets fired if he makes the wrong choice. We just change who we talk about.
  19. I see the one to two but that's quite the load for one spot.
  20. The best free agents are going to get 20+ . With the Ravens DT deal that's what Wilkins is shooting for . Only a few RBs will get close to 10 mil_Poles may be able to get a bargain there. There's to many available Ss that will dilute the pay scale. Unfortunately McKinney will get paid and be out of Poles price range. He will bring in another center but if won't be Cusenberry, he's probably the only one getting paid. 12-15 mil a year. I think he waits on Edge players, the first few will get paid but he will wait when he can GWT one on a 1 year 10 mil deal. Someone like Clowny or Floyd.
  21. There is no doubt he has a talented arm but we also know many QBs have not been successful in the NFL not because of their talent but because of their character. Lots of talk out there in the beginning about only wanting to play where he wants, clamouring about demands he may want. Everything said is not true but noting isn't true either. Some of it is. Red flags: no agent dad wanting to be involved Wanting to change the rules of rookie contracts- not fair Wanting to be treated differently No medical at the combine He thinks he's better than Mahones without playing no snaps in the NFL He wants to play in Washington, no surprise, he grew up there. He did the public relations tour about playing anywhere but him blowing off our 30 visit is huge. He's only doing the teams that could draft him. We are the most likely. If we draft him he will hold out. There is a pay structure in place but he thinks its not. fair. He needs to win the locker room and will only divide it more holding out..Fields is a total team guy, Caleb will come in with a me me attitude. It simply won't work. Just wait and see, I predict he will take his 30 visit in Washington before he comes here. He is going to try to get to Washington .I'm questioning his character, not his talent.
  22. If you look at the high drafted players and money spent. It's been defense. I think they start investing more on the offensive side of the ball. I think a couple of 8 to 10 mil, nothing over 12 mil. Another OL? Another WR? I think maybe a RB.
  23. Only Edmunds got paid the big contract. Edwards and Davis were 8 to 10 range.
  24. They have to have options if they don't get their guy in the draft. They're not signing Cusenberry if he's getting 15 A year._So he will look to the draft.
