Then this year I watch some of the preseason games and the defense looks like crap, and with this draft it looks like the management blows. The only bright spot is special teams and that's even in jeopardy becuase they are trying to make a HOF return man a wider reciever because they are too imcompetent to draft and bring one along.

This is cool enough to share in a few places. This graphic from the Guardian shows how every team in the NFL has used its cap space, broken down by offense/defense and by position. One could waste a couple hours in this. Bears spent the 5th most on their offense in the league. Found that interesting.

Alright, let me start by saying I realize we went into the game banged up on D and we took even more injuries during the game. I get that and it's a reasonable excuse. But it's an excuse nonetheless. I also realize we got three turnovers and the win, which is all that's important. Brad Biggs is reporting that Cutler's contract is written so that the Bears can convert portions of the contract to a bonus status, so that it can be spread out. Trib posted the article at 8:00PM tonight They are calling it a automatic conversion clause that allows the Bears to convert salary to bonus whenever they wish and it will be allocated over the contract years.
