Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. Here's what he has to say about WSCR's Mike North (I'm really pissed about the fact I can't listen to the SCORE in the morning's because of the braying jackass.) From http://www.suntimes.com/sports/mariotti/78...i020908.article Another problem is allowing sports hosts with low IQs to pontificate about social issues. For years, WSCR's Mike North has embarrassed his hometown by forcing his views on race, religion and current events when, in truth, he's just a goof who was pulled out of a hot-dog stand 15 years ago. North has a hard enough time putting together a sports argument, much less breaking down Hillary vs. Obama. But there he was, mimicking and mocking brain-da…

  2. Read this article on Chicago Sun Times with regards article is there any likelihood of bears matching offer and would the 2nd round pick be this year or next The Bears have two RFA’s who have yet to sign their tenders. Safety Brandon McGowan will probably do so soon. He received the mid-level tender for $1.417 million that would require a team to send the Bears a second-round draft pick if it signed McGowan to an offer sheet and the Bears declined to match it.Quite simply, that’s not going to happen. McGowan figures to be in the mix for a starting job after improving at the end of last season. A lot at safety will depend on what happens with Mike Brown, who’s coming…

Was the drive at the end engineered by Orton. Outstanding. I was hoping he would break through with a game ending drive. Can't blame him for the loss. He looks like our starter for years to come. Peace

Bears met with Braxton Miller yesterday. An interesting prospect. I'd be interested in the later rounds. I've seen where he is projected in the 4th round, which is probably earlier than I'd like to target a wideout. https://mobile.twitter.com/RosterWat...0676326400?p=v

Of the three LBs he lists below (A.J. Klein, Sio Moore, Khaseem Greene) A.J. Klein seems like he should be getting far more press than he's had in the run up to the draft. I'm not saying that just because he's a Cyclone. He has the speed and hands to be effective in coverage (4.66) and the 4 INTs returned for TDs to back it up. Plus I like the way he arrives at the ball carrier. From a quick look he's ranked anywhere from a 3rd Rd pick to 5th Rd but typically isn't on anyone's top 100. If he's there in the 4th and we haven't taken a LB I think he should be on our radar. Klein highlights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cF0NPhAJOM Klein East West Shr…

  6. Either he's waiting for Favre to sign, or he's showing off his diva-ness and red flags many drafters were worried about. May they experience no less than what we did w/ Benson! Couldn't happen to a better team.

  7. Started by Alaskan Grizzly,

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...n=chicago-bears So being a Bears fan I have to admit I'm starting to get a little nervous about the goings on behind the scenes. Is this typical with Fox? (being evasive about the status of players?). I know a lot of you are pretty much writing this year off before it starts but I'm not. I don't like going into something with a defeatist attitude. I have some glimmer of hope the team will do better that expected. I have to, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Heck I don't like the Cubs due in part that I believe they simply will never win the big one in my lifetime. Anyhow with White out and now AJ under that same cloud o…

I think right now the setting calls for only like 10 or 15 threads on each page (ie, when you go into the Bears forum, you only see 10 or 15 threads), but would people prefer a few more threads when you go to the forum as the default? The activity has been booming and with that it has forced some threads off of page 1 pretty quickly so I'm thinking if we can keep a few more on page 1 it will keep discussion going in more threads. Anyway, just give me a yeah or nay on the idea.

Was listening a little to the "Herd" this morning. And of course Trent Dilfer made an appearance. (Colin is a big fan). They got to discussing the Bears. First thing Colin said is he thought the Bears were a "fraud". Asked Dilfer what he thought. Dilfer's reply was basically that he didn't believe in them. He did make one note that I found ironic. He felt the only real way that the Bears could even hope to make it into and through the playoffs (let alone Super Bowl) were if the Defense began to play off the chart. He felt that it mostly fell into the hands of Cutler being consistent and thusly why the team could not maintain it's momentum. They reviewed the rema…

If Pace loves a guy and he is there, it looks like they will take BPA. Would love to see their draft board! Also said if the guys that are left when they pick are all close they would probably go with a need player. Here is another video longer (full) : http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/vid...8e-50ea191cf30e

  14. Started by adam,

With the Bears finishing 5-12 last year makes it feel like a herculean effort to even get to a winning record at 9-8. However, turn arounds with much more wins are almost commonplace nowadays. Last year alone, 3 of the top 9 teams in the NFL all had a win differential of +6 from the previous season: WAS 4-13 > 12-5 (+8) MIN 7-10 > 14-3 (+7) LAC 5-12 > 11-6 (+6) I feel like there is less correlation from year to year than ever before. In the season prior to winning 12 games, WAS lost their last 8 games, MIN finished 1-6 with their only win a 3-0 barnburner against LVR. LAC finished 1-8 and their only win was a 6-0 win against NE. So as mu…

  16. Read this and I'm wondering if Hester is about to sign a modest contract extension, one that will pay him to simply focus on being a KR/PR? ----------------------------------------------------------- http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears When we last heard from Chicago Bears returner/receiver Devin Hester, he had backed off his threat to retire but was still suggesting he might benefit from a fresh start with another franchise. Tuesday, Hester used a post on his Instagram account to imply he has had a change of heart. Hester The post read: "For all my Bears fan #yes. I'm a bear 4 life.# Beardown!!!!! ----------------------------------------------…

  17. First of all don't get me wrong. I am thrilled we are still in the playoff picture, and savor a close win against the number 1 offense in the league, but... We need to fire both turner and babich after this season. I mean c'mon 4 minutes in regulation, you're up by 4 and 3 straight passes??? Even a 8 year old playing madden with this team would run the damn ball under those circumstances. Then there's ole babich. I think the announcers collinsworth and the other dude said it best before the game, and I quote... Same faces from the dominant defense we had a few years ago went on to say urlacher, brown, ogun, brown, briggs, and tillman, but we are not dominating the …

Everyone seems to at least think a trade down would work well for the Bears. Most think the QB class is weak, and most think the guys we really want/need are better suited later than the third pick. So, is there any team that would be willing to move up to the #3 pick and not mortgage their entire future? Is there a team that has the picks/players to pull it off? Here's my best shot: CLE - Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M SF - QB CHI - SF didn't take the QB they want, and CLE calls the Bears to make a big move for what they think is a franchise QB, while keeping one of their second rounders. CHI trades their #3 pick (2200) for CLE's #10 pick (1300), #33…

how the mccaskey family has failed to learn ANYTHING in regards to running an NFL franchise after 35 years, since mugs halas died in 1979, is truly unbelievable. they put the boy genius mikey in charge and he personally drove this franchise into the ground for over 30 years with bad decisions. after 20 years it became so bad and he was taking so much heat from fans and the media that they moved their financier and vice president ted phillips (supposedly) into mikey's spot as president and GM to take the spotlight off their golden boy genius son and demoted him to gardener. off to mowing the grass at halas hall huh mikey? right! meanwhile the 'family' gave us the…

The Franchise Tag's deadline is tomorrow. The new league year starts on March 17th (next Wednesday), so the Bears will have to get under the cap by that date. If they tag ARob, they would have to shed a ton of salary to get under the cap in a week. The only options I see are the following: 1. Franchise Tag and renegotiate a long-term deal to lessen the cap hit in 2021. 2. Tag and trade 3. Let him go to free agency, but still work a deal with him 4. Let him go, don't pursue
