I have always said a team should have an identity. Teams usually win with a dominant side of the ball. Rarely does a team win a championship without either. That being said, the brass wants our identity to be a dominant defensive team with a ball control offense winning the time of possession battle. What is the best path to establishing the goal, now that we've filled holes in FA? Let's pose a draft strictly on that...

The way Fuller has been playing this season, it's pretty obvious that he's in line to receive a big payday from somebody at the end of the year, providing he can maintain this level of play throughout the season. One of the cardinal rules in team building is to not let your young talent go in free agency to let other teams reap the benefits. Pace has already let that happen once with Alshon Jeffery. Although, it is fair to point out that Jeffery didn't want to be in Chicago, although I suspect some of it may have had to do with the rocky relationship he had with Fox. Not sure where Pace fits in with having influence there, but regardless, the same thing applies now …

So, Hester and Bennett are out with concussions. Alshon has a knee problem, which followed a hand problem. That leaves the Bears with Marshall, Dane, Weems...which really means, Marshall. So, what are his thoughts? Brandon Marshall's thoughts I would not mind seeing Mike Sims-Walker on this team one bit. He comes in, proves himself, and next year he probably beats out one of the other WRs for a #3 or #4 role. Win-win

This is in regards to next year. What would you guys like to see based on the possible outcomes to this season. I know some of you have said that you would take a wait and see approach. So here are the options. Please explain your votes and "other" choices. The only way I believe the Bears should retain Lovie and Co. is if we get hot and win the last 2 and at least the Wild Card game. The Wild Card game will more than likely be against Green Bay, which to me would make up for some of the follies this season. We have Kellen Davis Matt Spaeth Brody Eldridge Kyle Adams Ben Onobun under contract for 2013. So if we cut Davis and Spaeth that gives us app. 3.9 mil in cap relief. I dont know if the others on the roster have valve but would suppose one will stay for depth. All three wont cost anything if we cut them.
