Now that we've all thanked Forte for his many contributions to the Bears for the last 8 years it's time to figure out who we are adding to the roster at RB. There is no way a RB focused coach like Fox is heading into the season with Langford and Carey as certain #1/2 on the roster, and with no clear 3rd option. I don't think there is much love for S. Perry among the coaches. I've seen no signs they are very interested in re-signing Jacquizz Rodgers, although he might be offered another 1 yr deal later in FA. While they will be looking for Langford to assume that #1 role I can't see Pace or Fox just handing it to him. There will be some competition for the job…

The only history we have to look at is Paces moves last year and what he is saying about this years FAgency Last year he signed 15 free agents. McPhee got 5 year 39 mil. ( the only large money deal) I think he does the same situation this year. One big money guy and several 3 year 15 mil. type deals. I think he grabs Trevathan for like 5 year 40 mil deal. I think he grabs Jeff Allen for 4 year 20 mil. I think he grabs David Burton/SS/Den ( he played under Fox and has played well in a backup role, a ascending player) I think we resign Jenkins as a rotational DE player. I think we sign Robert Ayers/DE ( he played under Fox and can be g…

The first big play that Von Miller made was reminiscent of Richard Dent in SB 20. When he was drafted he was picked number 2 overall behind the guy he pressured repeatedly on Sunday. This is the type of pass rusher that all 3/4 teams will be looking for and the type the Bears should be looking for. The Denver linebackers reminded me of the New Orleans Saints LBs lead by Sam Mills,Vaughn Johnson, Pat Swilling and Ricky Jackson. This is the LB crew that they are similar to imo. This offseason we need to acquire a player that is going to wreck havoc like Von Miller, Pat Swiilling and Rickey Jackson.

I realize over the past year, this board has warmed up to Jay, but Forte goes to bat for Jay again. I will say, I hope the Bears and Forte can figure out something reasonable to allow Forte to retire a Bear. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-...ys-a-huge-role

Not terrible. I would prefer to see a return man somewhere in there, but otherwise I could live with it. http://wgnradio.com/2016/02/08/hoge-2016-b...mock-draft-1-0/

Last year I tried a mock where everyone agreed. Likes/Dislikes were laid out until we got something everyone could accept. It may not have been everyone's ideal draft, but it was something we'd all be happy with. I'd like to try that again. The Rules: -Please don't post your own mock. I've gone through a bunch of mocks on this board already, ones posted by multiple members, and looked at what was said. Major themes. Adamant comments. So this has comments, likes, dislikes, and other info from other posts. -I'll post the mock based on the aforementioned comments. -Comment on what you like or dislike from the mock, and I'll update your restrictions as wel…

I'd like to see Chico get his ring as a head coach. Always thought he got shafted by the Bears and Lovie.

Here is the link. The picks: 1. Robert Nkemdiche, 34DE, Ole Miss 2. Shon Coleman, OT, Auburn 3. Noah Spence, 34OLB, EKU 4. Tyler Matakevich, ILB, Temple 5. Jarron Jones, 34DT, ND 6. Cyrus Jones, CB, Alabama 6. Jordan Lucas, SS, Penn St 6. Nila Kasitati, OG, Oklahoma 7. Keyarris Garrett, WR, Tulsa Honestly, I can't complain much. I would have done it a bit different given the breakdown of where players went, but to start with an ultra athletic DE in Nkemdiche, steal Spence in the 3rd (seems unrealistic), and pick up Matakevich in the 4th, that's tough to beat. I like OT in the second, but I'm not a big fan of Shon Coleman's ability. The A…

Noah Spence lit up the Senior Bowl and he's exactly what we don't have on defense at OLB. I expect that what Von Miller did only further elevated Spence's value around the league. I'm wondering what thoughts are about him? He will likely be there at #11 although that's not entirely certain if he stays out of trouble the next few months. He won't be there when we draft in Rd 2. I don't see Pace going this route after what he went through with Ratliff, McDonald, and then the injury to White. White's situation is clearly different with the injury but the last thing Pace needs is back to back 1st Rd picks that have issues. I think he goes a safer route and at #11…

I've seen some drafts that start the Bears off with two DEs. I've seen some drafts that start the Bears off with an ILB and then another later. Which do you prefer? Suppose the Bears could get one of the following: OPTION 1 1. A'Shawn Robinson, DE, Alabama / DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon 2. Shawn Oakman, DE, Baylor / Shilique Calhoun, DE, MSU / Jonathan Bullard, DE, Florida OPTION 2 1. Reggie Ragland, ILB, Alabama / Jaylon Smith, ILB, Notre Dame / Myles Jack, ILB, UCLA 2. Scooby Wright, ILB, Arizona Any other combos like those you prefer? Would you hate either? The way I see it is, the team's two starting DEs are serviceable at lea…

Wow. Obviously a big loss for them, and a win for the Bears. Terrible WR draft class this year as well. Free agent market is meh as well.

We only have one offseason to draw from, and from what I understand the Bears have more cap space this offseason than last. That said, last year and his general comments suggest Pace is more likely to target young, up and coming players (see McPhee) than break the bank for a guy that’s established, but might not be worth his contract in four years. So I can’t really see a fit with Von Miller, Josh Norman, Muhammad Wilkerson, or even Malik Jackson. That said, here's some guys I like: - Danny Trevathan, LB, Broncos – ILB is the biggest need for the Bears (Pace has said as much), Trevathan has the Fox connection, and there’s not a lot of other ILB depth in FA, and I…

Their mock: 1. A'Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama 2. Shawn Oakman, DE, Baylor 3. Darian Thompson, S, Boise St 4. Tyler Johnstone, OT, Oregon 5. Kevin Hogan, QB, Stanford 6. Clay Debord, OT, Eastern Washington 6. Tajae Sharpe, WR, Massachusetts 6. Joe Schobert, ILB, Wisconsin 7. Jonathan Williams, RB, Arkansas I just don't understand any mock draft that ignores the ILB position for the Bears, but the DE/DE start is intriguing. My alternative according to their layout. 1. Deforest Buckner, DE, Oregon - BPA at a need position, and ILBs seem to have fallen in this draft 2. Landon Turner, OG, UNC - He's a beast. (Jaylon Smith falls to round 2?…

When we get to day 3 of the draft one of the positions we need to fill is KR and especially PR. I'd have no problem if we took chance with Braxton Miller. He's dynamic with the ball in his hands and he can contribute on special teams early in his career while he learns how to be a WR. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000062...n-put-on-a-show Bucky Brooks » Ohio State WR/PR Braxton Miller is the most natural punt returner that I've seen in years. He catches the ball effortlessly with his hands and looks like a veteran judging the ball in the air. With Miller also displaying improved route-running skills and impressive ball skills, he could make an immediate …

Bears met with Braxton Miller yesterday. An interesting prospect. I'd be interested in the later rounds. I've seen where he is projected in the 4th round, which is probably earlier than I'd like to target a wideout. https://mobile.twitter.com/RosterWat...0676326400?p=v
