This is interesting. I would say Cro's price has come down enough that Pace will talk to him plus we haven't seen much from our young CBs (at least I haven't). With Fuller on the shelf for a few weeks it might be worthwhile to bring in a proven vet who can step in right away and play better than any of the backups behind Callahan. Perhaps more importantly is that it would keep Callahan inside where we have even less depth. The question then becomes one of filling out the special teams roster but I think we've seen enough goodness on special teams from a lot of depth players that they can figure out how to get around that if they choose to. http://www.windyc…

This is the first game in a while that the Bears are not favored, go figure lol. I am surprised it is only by 4 points. Philly is an even more Jekyll and Hyde team than the Bears. In each of Philly's wins, they've scored over 30 points and in their 4 losses, they have allowed 24 or more. Their offense has scored 20 or more in 7 out of 8 games and their defense has allowed 20 or more pts 6 times. The Bears counter with 6 games allowing 17 or less and 3 games scoring 17 or more. The Eagles are coming home after 3 games on the road. They just had a big win in Buffalo after losses to the Vikings and Cowboys. They go into their bye after the Bears game, so I would …

Noots' Notes-Game 4: 24-20 Win against PhiladelphiaBy Michael Nudo The Bears held on to a 21-14 halftime lead to outlast Philadelphia 24-20 in front of a home crowd on Sunday night. Taking it away (AP Photo/Nam Y. Huh). OFFENSE QuarterbackKyle Orton (18-34-199, 3 TD, 2 INT, 2 Fumbles lost) threw three first half touchdowns to put the Bears in position to win the game. He wasted little time in hitting tight end Greg Olsen for a 19-yard touchdown strike up the right sideline. Orton then found Marty Booker on a beautiful 23-yard touchdown pass. He finished the half leading Devin Hester perfectly up the right sideline for yet another touchdown. Less obvious…

But, let's take a look at how Sunday night's game will affect the NFC North standings. Now, if Chicago wins, the Vikings are in BIG trouble, as not only would Chicago have a one-game lead over the Purple, but they also will have swept the season series from the Vikings as well, meaning any tie between the two teams would go to Chicago. That would be a huge advantage for Da Bears, and would put a significant dent into any hopes that the Vikings would have of winning the NFC North. And, since this division sure as heck isn't getting any wild card teams, that would mean the Vikings would be sitting at home this January. However, assuming a Green Bay loss to Carolina.…

The Perfect Compliment for Matt Forte: Cedric Benson by ifuwannacrownem on Feb 13, 2009 6:41 PM CST There is no Denying that Matt Forte Gave us the best chance to win in 2008. He broke many rookie rushing records last season, as well as some receiving records. He also finished third in total touches behind the Vikings Adrian Peterson and the Falcons Michael Turner. Through the good, Chicago still managed to finish 24th in yards, 26, in average yards per carry, and 24 in yards per game. The aforementioned teams had the right formula to constantly pound the rock: a spell-back and the threat of a deep pass. The Bears however, had their backs against the wall, and…

Last time I posted I got a little riff for being negative on our Bears being stagnant with the fa market. Listen I don't post a lot but when I do I call it as i see it. I knew if we went into the season with what we had, There was little hope that we would go far into the playoffs. I would even go as far to say it would be hard to win our division. Now with the recent moves I see hope. Hope that I was asking for in the likes of a all pro QB and and that all pro OL. Yes, Pace might be up in age and have health issues but it's an upgrade. And yes it's only a stop gap. We can't solve all our problems in single off season but it's a start. It seems that m…

The bloom is off that rose. I won't say I was a staunch defender of Lovie but I was willing to pull for the "Brotha". That all changed when he decided he would continue to talk in coach speak and basically ruined my Sundays(or Game Days). When it comes to the Bears I'm not sitting here starring at a Malcolm X poster and reciting Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech, I am first and foremost looking for the Bears to win the game they play. Taking my ethnicity out of the equation Lovie sucks as bad as Herm Edwards did in KC. Maybe he is one of those guys that just needs to be a coordinator like Romeo Crennel, Kevin Gilbride ,Dick Le Beau and Dom Capers…

All indications are the Raiders are set to take McFadden despite having 5 decent to good RBs on the roster: Justin Fargas Michael Bush Lamont Jordan Adimchinobi Echemandu Dominique Rhodes I figure they'll keep Bush and probably Fargas. So, if you're the Bears, do you make a play for Rhodes or Jordan? They shouldn't cost much if they aren't released, and it might be a nice way to fill the RB position.

http://www.chicitysports.com/2011/10/27/ch...eased-by-bears/ If this is true, holy crap, why not let him stick out the season and then not re-sign him? I guess they like Conte that much. Reported by Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune.

http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...1,4181720.story Mendenhall loves Bears, ready for anything in NFL Draft By Terry Bannon Tribune reporter April 22, 2008, 1:16 AM CDT It was just one of several trips to meet with teams that Rashard Mendenhall has made in preparation for Saturday's NFL draft. He didn't have to pass through O'Hare to visit Halas Hall, and he knows the chances are slim that he'll wind up a Bear. Still ... "I think it went real well, honestly, just being there, it felt like home," he said. "It isn't home, but it felt like that. I have all the respect in the world for coach Lovie Smith. One of the best guys I've ever met…

Reading the post-game quotes, it definitely sounds like our defensive players are "turning", but the question is, are they turning on each other or the staff, or maybe both. When asked about the pass rush, Tommie Harris provides us this, ''Do you understand football?'' tackle Tommie Harris said. ''How long was he in the pocket? How long did he hold the ball? Yeah, he was quick throwing the whole time, so something has to give. ''It has nothing to do with pressure. We're not Superman. If he drops back and he's patting the ball, then you talk to us about pressure. But we're doing our job.'' Alex Brown added, "When you give up 7-yard passes, 10-yard pas…

What do you guys think and what would you do? On the plus side, he's a dumbass who has really been lazy the past couple years. Yes, he's played through an "injury", but he has skipped treatments in the past and just doesn't seam to get it. We'd also save money by cutting him as he's in a series of one year deals so there wouldn't be any cap rammifications, other than saving a few mill in current payroll (which could help the Bears cover the costs of firing Lovie and hiring someone else!!) On the down-side, they claim he's actually healthy and our two worse 1st halves of the Lovie era came with him on the sidelines. Maybe he is more valuable than we think an…
