Thayer listed the things he'll be watching for during training camp. One thing caught my eye, a very welcome sight indeed is that our Dline is learning to use counter moves on their pass rush. We've all been asking for this for years and perhaps it has finally arrived. Zach Zaidman (sp?) who is the SCORE Bears reporter and WBBM's sideline reporter during the games believes that the Bears will keep on 2 QBs on the roster and try to get Hanie on the practice squad. His thought is the roster spot that is eaten by Williams will be used to keep another offensive lineman and thus the Bears will only be able to keep 2 Qbs on the roster. Peace

Given that I know virtually nothing about the current crop of draft prospects...here's what I'd like to see happen, all else being equal. RD1-2 - D line and O line - either or, BPA RD 3 - WR - someone with serious potential. Big target. If the WR is in the 1st or 2nd, then OL/DL here RD 4- DB - We need depth RD 5 - LB - more depth RDs6 -7 - I really don't care...just BPA or whatever whim Emery has. 1. Tremain Edmunds LB - VT 6'5 250 Edmunds is too versatile to pass. He can play inside or on the edge. Remember Clay Matthews in his prime moving all along the front and always sacking Cutler. This is how I envision Fangio using Edmunds. This is a disruptive playmaker the D needs to become top 5. This is why the Bears should draft all offense this year. Focus absolutely everything on protecting the franchise player and providing him with superior weapons.

Bears offseason priorities IMO: 1 Take care of their own a.) Olin Kreutz - ask him if he can go for 2 more yrs, he's not playing for anyone else. He said he may retire b.) We're starting to see some nearly final draft boards. There are some surprising changes or maybe wide variance in player grades from one to the next. Rotoworld has Chase Claypool list #26 overall! He was 4th Rd prospect 2 months ago. Josh Jones OT and a favorite of sorts on the board for our 43rd pick is listed #19 overall. Denzel Mims another 2-3rd prospect is #12 overall. Antonio Gibson RB/WR another oft mentioned 4th/5th Rd target for us is listed at #39. In the last couple of weeks there has been a buzz that Notre Dame safety Harrison Smith is rising up draft boards and could sneak into the first round.I say buyer beware. Since the Irish are on national TV just about every week he was not a name that I focused on when they played and he didn't do much to make me notice.This is a bad safety class IMO and I would try to selecta CB that would project to safety since this scheme needs a guy to cover deep with ball skills.Barron for sure is the best player at the position but there has been big debate for all others as to who would be the next off the board. We're some 40 hours free of the end of the draft and a lot of thoughts have been kicking around my head about these guys. Probably yours too. So let's get them out there. With apologies to Peter King, here's some things I think I think: 2a. Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington - The one pick I got right in my mock, and I wasn't at all sure about it because it heard that CB is not a priority in the Flus defense. Still, I always saw #2 CB as the biggest weakness on this team as a whole - I don't trust Graham (yet), Vildor is still not ready, and the rest of the guys are slot guys. Much more James White in his ability to evade tacklers and pick up extra yards than he is Darren Sproles or Tarik Cohen.
