http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_...?urn=nfl-279578 "I've played against [Hall] before -- there's no reason to shy away from him. That's hard to say after throwing four picks at a guy, but if we had to play him tomorrow, I'd go at him every time." That was Cutler's response to the valid question: "Why did you keep throwing Hall's way, when he was picking off everything in his area?" It's true that Hall isn't exactly Brandon Flowers(notes) or Darrelle Revis(notes), but this goes beyond hubris on Cutler's part. Easy enough to give a perfunctory answer about how Hall played a great game, and "the breaks just didn't go our way," blah blah blah ... but this? …

I hadn't seen this posted yet. Lots of notes on WRs, OTs, and other miscellaneous players we might have some interest in. http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2009/03/dr...out_to_ent.html Discuss (or something).

This article is exactly what I see happening in the draft this year. As the article suggests, the more tap I watch on Donald the more I see him not handling the run in the NFL.Gilbert has all the tools but dont see having the savy to star in the league. As it states, I see us dropping down and either grabbing the players they mention or a S such as Ward or even a Bucannon. I doubt if Pryor will be there. http://nflmocks.com/2014/04/13/chicago-bea...back-nfl-draft/

Obviously there's no way to know exactly how much say Fangio had in the drafts when he was in SF, but he had to have some say, right? So I figured I'd take a look at the defensive players they drafted. One big difference in looking at this is the fact that SF was already running a 3-4 when he got there and they already had Patrick Willis, Navarro Bowman and Justin Smith (to name just a few). 2011 1 - Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri - 6'4" 263, 4.78 3 - Chris Culliver, CB, South Carolina - 6'1" 201. 4.40 6 - Colin Jones, S, TCU - 5'11" 200, 4.34 7 - Curtis Holcomb, CB, Florida A&M - 5'10" 184, 4.47 2012 5 - Darius Fleming, LB, Notre Dame - 6'2" 245,…

Prospect A. (+)Has all the intangables and leadership qualities. Tough and plays through pain and takes command of the team. Strong arm and can complete all the intermediate routes. Decent mobility and can throw accurate on the run. (-)Doesn't shine at any physical aspect, but not poor at any either. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Prospect B. (+)Has it all from a physical standpoint. Perfect height and weight for a QB and can take a hit. Is athletic enough to avoid the rush and buy time in the pocket. Can make all the throws and has great arm strength. Makes smart decisions and doesn't turn the ball o…

Sure, it is still WAY early to give a true grade to a draft that took place only a year ago, but w/ so much draft talk, what the hell. 1st round, 31st pick - Olsen Most of us still believe this was a great pick. Someone just needs to explain that to Turner. 2nd round, 30th pick - Bazuin We had a high 2nd round pick, and traded down. We ended up taking Bazuin, Wolfe and Payne w/ those new picks. Bazuin does not look like a good pick at all. The injury aside, he is 4th on the depth chart w/ little room to move up. 3rd round, 30th pick - Wolfe I hated this pick than, and still do today. While many will argue, what does it say about ou…

And I think they wanted TO too. 0-0-0 ANOTHER BAD IDEA, DOES ANYBODY REMEMBER WHO THAT WAS? Im to lazy to look up the thread.(to busy making up Te'o stories)

R Williams is a player that interests me, he was a highly touted prospect that hasn't flourished. Maybe it had something to do w/ JAX. But when it comes to a complimentory WR to fit our other WR's, I think Williams can bring that Larry Fitzgerald type. Adding Williams should be cheap and it can give CHI more options in the draft. ------------------------------------------------ 2004 DRAFT PROFILE: Reggie Williams 6-4 212 40 time - 4.48--4.62 at proday Positives: Reggie Williams has good speed for his size, great natural ability, and excellent hands. He is very physical, has good strength, and rarely loses out on a jump ball. In terms of player toug…

Dear Babich, There is no such thing as a 15-step drop. No team, OC, or QB in the league practices this as a routine. The QB will never be back 15 yards from the LOS. Please have your DEs adjust their angles of attack accordingly. And while you're at it, have them twist or stunt every once in a while just to mix things up. Sincerely, A fan who's sick of watching the DEs run around the opposing QB

We have three decent DEs who have all shown flashes but this team hasnt had a pass rusher that can take over a game in a long time. The closest thing I can think of isnt even a DE, its Colvin. If this team could get a guy who can actually make a team gameplan for him our defense would dominate. Our d line has been ok the past few years and this year looks good against the run but if we could get pressure on the qb I think our defense could generate ridiculous amounts of turnovers. Look what happened yesterday when we needed a stop, Griese was sitting in the pocket all day. I think a safety and defensive end should be needs for this off season along with OL, QB and po…

Rant Sports.com This a website I came across and this was its Bears mock draft done two hours ago. 1-Tyler Eifert/TE 2-Dallas Thomas/OG-T 4-Joe Bostic/LB 5-Nico Johnson/LB 6-Brandon MaGee/CB I think the possibility exists the top 6 OL prospects will be gone. So Tyler is a good alternative choice. Thomas can play a couple of positions and think he could find a spot on our line. I like Bostic a lot and Johnson could be a sleeper pick.

Here is a draft from Windy city gridiron. I love the first 3 but will the lose of picks, it would end up being not good. No RB prospect(a must) , QB prospect( not of great impotance), and not enough bodies for the youth movement. http://www.chatsports.com/chicago-bears/a/...ft-40-2-9753505

Was looking through San Frans defensive free agents and came across a somewhat intriguing name. Dan Skuta, the OLB who filled in for Aldon Smith while he was out. He racked up 5 sacks in just 398 snaps. Here's an article entitled "Dan Skuta Aims for 10-sack Seasons, Pro Bowls" http://www.49ers.com/news/article-2/Dan-Sk...f0-7b0e2eb6ff3c As you can see he's pretty high on himself, and gives a lot of praise to Fangio for putting him in the right position. He was a nobody up until Fangio put him at OLB. Now the question is, is Fangio as big on him as he is on himself? Hard to get a tell on him with pretty much no tape out there and little to n…

I look at all the moves the Bears make and shake my head. Nothing spetacular, but at least they have did something and arent done yet. I think they had a good draft, if they get Kueutz back will be an ok FAgency. The thing I need to realize is WITH a bad offensive line, poor WRs, and a sprint to put able bodies in the secondary, they still made it to the NFC title game. I have to say I need to be a little more positive about their stupidity.
