I have a feeling the Bears will try to establish a run game this week by relying heavily on David Montgomery. This will be his chance to show the world that he can be the bell cow for the Bears. I see him getting 24 carries for 108 yds with a TD, one rec for 17 yds. They will want to get out of London healthy and with a W. That will get them into a bye week and a chance to recover.

It looks like a dislocated patella, which may also mean a torn ligament (depending on severity). If the ligament is torn, it will require surgery as the knee cap will move around and be very unstable. If he has surgery, he will be out for 8-10 weeks at a minimum. If no torn ligament, he can come back with a brace in a few weeks. He was hurt on a simple QB sneak too, but he couldn't bend his leg. The Madden Curse is for real. You hate to see injuries to any player, but this actually hurts the Bears as KC plays GB next week, then MIN the following week. It is highly unlikely that Mahomes will play in either of those games, making KC pedestrian at best. On the oth…

Adam, I'm hoping you can run with this for me... Pace: He has made some good picks and some duds, so let's focus on the trades. Shaheen is a solid bust. So we spend a second rounder and give up what to move up? Montgomery is solid, but unspectacular. We give a second rounder and what for him? Miller is another second rounder etc... Now, let's go to Mack; two firsts and what else? Trubisky... did I miss any. Can you add all of this up, because it seems like a draft and a half has been spent. Looking at our biggest needs right now. Assuming Trubisky is the starter and we didn't trade up. Who could we have drafted and would we have needed the Mack trade?…

Just like some of the other position groups (O-Line and TE), I think we need a purge at this position. Keep ARob, but get rid of Gabriel and Miller via trade or just outright cut. Miller seems to have discipline issues, doesn't run the correct routes, is often out of position at the LOS, and seems to generally have a bad attitude. For a 2nd round pick that we traded up for, we should expect more. What is even worse about the Miller pick (and trade up), we could've selected DJ Chark or Michael Gallup, both were available at #51. I like Wims and would love to see some Ridley down the stretch to see what we got. Gabriel is better suited as a #3 than a #2, and is …

So, I'm feeling a little ornery right now watching SF dominate the Queens. Reminiscing the trade that brought us Trubisky and losing the 67 and 111 picks, as well as a 2018 third rounder. I haven't looked at who SF drafted with those three picks, but I do know they drafted George Kittle in the 5th round the same draft that we drafted Adam Shaheen in the 2nd. Bet we could've drafted a really good OL with that pick. The consolation kick in the nuts is that if we don't do the trade with SF, we may have gotten stuck with Mahomes. ? Back to my Sailor Jerry

Pretty short list but there are two fast WRs there. https://www.thedraftnetwork.com/articles/prospect-team-meeting-tracker-from-2020-shrine-bowl Chicago Bears WR Isaiah Wright, Temple WR Joe Reed, Virginia LB Michael Pinckney, Miami https://thedraftnetwork.com/player/joe-reed/BVj5rhAl14

Defense is valuable in a big game. Nagy O works if you run the ball. We need a speed WR We need a quality TE We need a solid oline. To keep the defense good we need another pass rusher. Healthy Hicks matters. I think filling the CB and SS spot will be relatively cheap. Pass rusher will not be. We have a lo to do.

I am going to post some info in here to discuss the QB situation. First I was looking back at some past League MVPs, and one season popped out at me. Take a look at this recent league MVP and two similar Pro Bowl QBs from different years: League MVP: 1. 67.0 QBR, 59.8% Comp, 239 Y/G, 7.8 Y/A, 39.8 Rushing Yards/G Pro Bowlers: 2. 65.0 QBR, 62.6% Comp, 252 Y/G, 8.1 Y/A, 56.3 Rushing Yards/G 3. 70.8 QBR, 66.6% Comp, 230 Y/G, 7.3 Y/A, 30.1 Rushing Yards/G #3 was Trubisky in 2018, and he had a better overall QBR than Cam Newton's 2015 MVP season and Michael Vick's 2010 with the Eagles. They were the closest comps in multiple statistical categories and a…

I like Robert Schmitz' work. Listen to the end when he talks about how important having the right safety to pair with Jackson is. He said rule of 3, and that's true but we also have guys like RRH and Nichols who are capable of some good pass rushes at times as well, just enough to potentially cause havoc.

Former Packers 2nd Rounder, was stuck behind Bulaga and Bakhtiari, so it's hard to get a read on him. He was on IR last year, so who knows. Another guy to compete with the revolving bookends we already have. One year deal, probably near the vet minimum, it can't hurt.

Unless we have a few miracles take place, we are on a downward path. Here's my plan for a quick turnaround. Fire Pace and replace him with Louis Riddick. I don't of many more football people I have been more impressed with. He's smart, knowledgeable, decisive, commanding and diverse. Give him full command to hire and fire at will. My choice would be that he hire someone like Dabo Sweeney to be HC. Also, beg Bill Polian to be president of your organization for two years and give him free reign. We know this going to be a two to three year change, so let's think 2 years ahead to start. Our defense is older, but incredibly talented. We have collateral there…

1st - Trade up for Trey Lance, QB, NDST - This would be a horrible move. Reeks of Trubisky. Will set the franchise back and cost too much. It would also mean a wasted first round pick on a clipboard holder, or $10M wasted on Andy Dalton. 2nd - Landon Dickerson, IOL, Bama - Normally I love OL and specifically Alabama OL, but this would piss me off because it's interior and not OT, and it's a guy with extensive injury history. 3rd - Mid-Rd Safety Reach w/ OT available - Two or three solid OTs are there, one of which probably should have been a second rounder. Pace reaches for a Obi Melifonwu-type who has the measurables but minimal statistics to back it up. …

There is a chance that Fields gives us the better chance to win and make the playoffs, but if those were the only two options, would you mind enduring a down year for future success?
