I guess they were waiting for the cameras, probably asked to by the league. Both are signed. And Caleb didnt try to change the league after all. That was just narrative from before the draft because he didnt have a PR person countering anything so the stories went wild - probably from teams in the top 5 hoping to shake him loose. Anyway the nonsense is over. We have successfully navigated cutting Fields and drafting and signing Caleb. Hopefully now the business of winning comes front and center. And speaking of centers and fronts, I wouldnt be shocked to see us sign Connor WIlliams, another DE or both.

Madness, to me this was all setup. Gronk retires, Brady doesn't return to NE. He has the pick of the league, picks TB, then after NE signs enough players that prevents them from taking on Gronk's contract, he magically unretires which forces NE's hand to make a trade immediately (they cannot go over the cap). To me, this seems way too convenient. Also, TB magically had enough to take on his contract.

I havent heard one report about anyone from the personnel side of the Saints being interviewed or considered for a job. I find that weird. For a team that drafts well, can run the ball downhill and throw it all over the yard...why arent the Bears sniffing around them? Note: Not that I think it matters, the Bears seem destined and determined to hire a scrub. So the question may be rhetorical for the Bears organization.

Since the Bears moved up and invested everything for the Trubisky pick, that signals to me a few things: 1. Pace is staking his job on this pick. 2. Trubisky will be given every possible chance to win the job. 3. Trubisky absolutely will be starting next year, regardless of how well Glennon does. 4. The Texans have their 4 top running backs hurt so they might be interested in giving up a late round draft pick for Taylor who is due 1.25 million this year. He also mentions that Khalil Bell is a core special teams player and looked good Saturday. Meanwhile, Taylor carried the ball 3 times for 3 yards. I watched the press conference as many others did as well. The comment or line that stuck out the most to me was when someone asked George McCaskey how his mother Virginia has felt during this whole process. George got a bit choked up which was nice to see some emotion and said, "She is in agreement, has been supportive.....She's Pissed Off!" Not sure that still having Ted Philips in any Football Operations position is good thing however, it seems like the family is starting to get it on how we the fan base feels and hopefully it will be the start of a true move in the right direction!
