The TalkBears Fantasy Football Leagues are ready for signups. I have 3 leagues set up with Yahoo. They have been set up with the same rules as the Bearstalk league I was in last year in all 3 leagues. However, once the leagues are filled, we can discuss with the league's team owners if there are any changes you would like to take place. Links to the rules and draft times are found with the links below. TalkBears FFL 1 – will be a live draft Sat. 2. Bears DT Harris' stature continues to grow So let's say Urlacher and Harris BOTH have outstanding years, BOTH voted to the Pro Bowl, BOTH considered the best at their respective positions by the end of the year, do you think Urlacher remains the main "figure head" of the Chicago Bears or does Tommie Harris' surge in popularity and his more comfortable style with the media make him the new "poster child" of the Bears?

Apparently Brett Favre has asked for his unconditional release from the Packers. He wants to play again and my guess is he ends up in Minnesota. A year ago if this happened, I would have penciled him into Chicago but now with an unproven RB, young oline, and an unproven WR core I don't see the Bears as a very attractive option for Brett (albeit I still think it would be one of his top 5 destinations, given the strong defense and his familiarity with the franchise).

I posted this to equate to the Hester situation. It may belong in the Hester thread. Both are 3rd year players that have way outdone their rookie deals. Maybe JA and Parker will look at that as a reference. Hester should make no less than Colston, but not a lot more - IMO.

The way we're using our TE's, it sounds as though we might actually be able to establish somewhat of a "mid-Range" passing attack. This is something that we've not been able to do on a consistent basis since Ron Turner's returned as OC. Seemingly (especially with Rex) it's mostly "all or nothing." If we didn't connect on big plays down field, our running game stalled, & we were basically screwed. How many times in the past 3 years have you heard "2nd & 2" (We've heard 2nd & 12 far more often.) I don't completely blame Turner for this. Moose sucked & Berrian is not an over the middle receiver. Now we finally have the personnel. (Olsen, Cl…

Well it was fun while it lasted but all the Youtube training camp videos "Roy" had posted havebeen taken down. Apparently some journalists were complaining that he wasn't following the audio and video rules that they themselves have to follow and it resulted in his plug being pulled.

Individual Notes (in no real order) IN THE GOOD 1. Orton - seems to know he "won" the "job" 2. Forte - i know its preseason, but i think he may be the new Neal Anderson (means alot coming from me, fav bear of all time) 3. Llyod - actually liking this guy. I think now since he plays WITH Mike Brown he wont be such a pussy anymore 4. Bennett - great runback, dont know how good of a reciever cuz our offense bites, but i like his play 5. Urlacher - still looks as psycotic as always 6. Harrison - really plowing people and closing lanes 7. J. Williams - definately the 4th LB. good interception (notice what happens when u blitz) 8. Idoneji - really cloggi…

  10. OFFENSE - Overall, looked good QB - Orton looked good. Poised. On target. I was very please with his performance. Did anyone else notice Orton switch jersey after halftime. First half he had the short elastic sleeves, 2nd half the loose sleeves? Wonder why. Rex has lost all confidence. Hes done. cook him. RB - Forte looked good. He seems to have really good vision. Jones had a very nice run on his first play. I think he will turn out to be a very good pick up for us this year. McKie, you have to catch the ball! WR - Rashied Davis, great game..I have always been a fan of yours. Brandon Llyod, not much on offense last night, but you still get a spot on the te…

Okay if let me be the first to say that if we take Tim Tebow, a projected NFL FB, I'll puke and probably hop on another team's bandwagon. Now, if we suck, I want us to suck enough to get a top 5 pick, so we have a shot at Stafford or Crabtree. I wouldn't even shy away from Cushing, Mualuga (sp?), or Laurenitis. Thoughts, if any??

The Bears' 53-man roster will include a couple of surprises, as it always does, but this is how it could shape up: Quarterbacks (2): The Bears almost always keep three, but they might go with just Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman and stash promising rookie Caleb Hanie on the practice squad, hoping no other team claims him for their active roster, which is probably a safe bet. Running backs (5 or 6): Matt Forte, Kevin Jones, Adrian Peterson and Garrett Wolfe all appear to be roster locks. Jason McKie might be the only fullback who sticks. Odd men out: RB P.J. Pope and FB Lousaka Polite. Wide receivers (6): Devin Hester and Rashied Davis are the only locks, b…

Was just released. Would Chicago be able to use him? More importantly would he cost much? Ratliff and he reunited??

  16. Started by Alaskan Grizzly,

So with Hester and his "one dimensional" contribution possibly leaving Chicago, maybe a player like Sproles could be the replacement? He's multi dimensional (to include returning kicks) and is familiar to OC Kromer. Not exactly the 'change of pace' back I think most envision, especially with Bush gone. But maybe a good option as third down back behind Forte(?)

I need some feedback from our resident draft gurus. I did a bit of research on safeties in the draft and was surprised to see what appears to be a very thin group this year in terms of talent. I favor the draft analysis at the links below because their player profiles seem to be very accurate when guys get to the next level. If these guys are right, there are a couple prospects at the top and then the drop off is very rapid to day 3. There just doesn't seem to be a lot to choose from between Rd 2/3. This does not seem to be the right year to be going into a draft needing help at both safety positions. Maybe that's why we threw so many bodies at the SS position. …
