I do this every year, just for a little fun. If the Bears had the #1 pick this year, whether it was via trade or because of their play, who would you all want them to select? **I didn't include Gabbert and Newton for obvious reasons, nor did I include any OT's because none are even worth a top 7 pick in this year's draft, and I doubt they'd ever take Von Miller (an OLB) with their current needs at #1.

I'll put in my 2 cents later, after considerable research, but I'm wondering what everyone else would do. I'm not talking about picking out all the guys who have excelled this year and shoving them into the Bears lineup. I'm talking about going with the glaring holes the Bears have, and picking the guys in the most logical order. Keep the original picks that the Bears had to give up in order to trade for Cutler, and I wonder how many holes could be filled.

I'll start: QB. Any QB.

If the Bears' OL did change, which option is preferred?

A fun what if game. Their draft position is ridiculous this year. What would you do with their two first rounders and three second rounders? No trade downs allowed. It's odd because we have Trubisky, which eliminates QB. 1.1 - Quenton Nelson, OG, ND - Best pick that fits that early. 1.4 - Bradley Chubb, DE/OLB, NCST - Whichever position, there needs to be a Floyd counterpart. 2.33 - Brown/Williams/McGlinchey, OT - Whichever slips to the first pick of the second round. 2.35 - Courtland Sutton, WR, SMU - Who Kevin White should have been. 2.64 - Christian Kirk, WR, TXA&M - Let's solve this WR issue right TF now by doubling up with a guy nicknamed Baby …

All indications are the Raiders are set to take McFadden despite having 5 decent to good RBs on the roster: Justin Fargas Michael Bush Lamont Jordan Adimchinobi Echemandu Dominique Rhodes I figure they'll keep Bush and probably Fargas. So, if you're the Bears, do you make a play for Rhodes or Jordan? They shouldn't cost much if they aren't released, and it might be a nice way to fill the RB position.

What if Donald,Gilbert,Pryor,HaHa are all gone? I think the possibility exists that there is not the run on QBs that some are predicting so that will pull stud D players we all cherish. If those 4 are gone I think the next best defensive players would be Mosely, Dennard. I would not object to those picks. Fuller, Ward, Hageman, and Truitt are a bit of a reach at 14, but I think all will be good players. Hageman seems to be the risky player of all those names. Didnt have production to back up physical numbers. I would prefer Fuller to Dennard, seems to be more instinctive to me. DL Ray McDonald- I think the off the field stuff is really blinding people on just how good McDonald is. Here's a guy who in Fangios very successful time in SF played the 3rd most snaps, so he was obviously a key part to a very good defense. Tebow will never be a great QB in the league, but he does have traits that other players are lacking like size, leadership, and morality. I know it's a down time, so I figured I'd throw this up there. What player if they only had a Tebow trait could have been became top players in the league. Quick examples off the top of my head, Jeff George with leadership, Doug Flutie with Size, or Hernandez with morality or whatever. This isn't because I am a Tebow fan. With Tait's retirement looming, we are looking at approx 32 million to use in free agency. That number could increase if some cuts are made. Another scenario that makes this money huge is that we have no big name FA's to re-sign. I have big on re-signing St. Clair. I'm no longer on the bandwagon for signing him no matter what. IF we draft Caleb Williams, odds are the Bears bring in a veteran backup QB. Bagent was okay in 4 games but Getsy babied him with 250 WR screens in those games.
