No real surprises here. Sutton was never a fit in the 3-4, Edison is obsolete with Grasu & Boggs, and Royal couldn't get on the field. Lasike is a little interesting considering he was the only FB on the roster and now that title belongs to undrafted rookie Freddie Stevenson, who hasn't even stepped on the practice field yet. Also saw that Victor Cruz is scheduled to visit the Bears on Monday. Not sure what he has left in the tank.

There was a post which would have brought up a discussion of the current trend of some players refusing to stand for the National Anthem. I am sure there are some strong opinions on this topic. I deleted the post simply because from past experience this would become a powder keg in short order. Right now, with current records, we only have one game vs a prospective playoff team (LAR), and 3 games against potential playoff teams (GB and MIN x2). If we split the division and go 3-2 the rest of the way, beat the teams with 2 or less wins (BUF, SF, NYG) and lose to LAR, that's 6-3 the rest of the way without too much stretching. Week 9 at BUF (2-5) - Bills are coming off a MNF game and a short week. They have scored 81 pts on the season in 7 games. We should and need to dominate this game. read this somewhere and gives some info on Fangio and how it fits. Call it what you will but Fangio's defense is not a straightforward vanilla 3-4. His NT still plays a one gap shade position which actually does fit a guy like Stephen Paea and they can also use Ratliff in that.e role. Fangio plays his other DT as a 3 tech similar to a one gap 4-3 so Sutton is not a waste and Paea and Ratliff can also play that position.
