To start things off, great game last night! You can tell what a well built team looks like. Watching the game from our perspective, tells me that we are not ready yet. When it comes to conference championships and Superbowls, the defenses are amped up. The DB's become assassins and the pass rush is relentless. Our team needs became more clarifyed to me. And I didn't like it. Defensively, we need two more guys that can rush the passer as starters and one to be situational. We currently have one. So I was looking back as far as the 2017 draft to see where QBs were slotted on the Draft Big Boards prior to the drafts. This one site takes a collection of most major big boards on the internet and collates them into a consensus board. I really like this as it takes out some biases and other factors. Some big boards are BPA, others are sort of slotted like their projected draft positions. It makes me sick that the Bears drafted Trubisky, AND traded up for him no less. Colin on his show two days ago stated that Caleb doesn't want to go Chicago. He thinks they screwed over Justin Fields and have a lame duck coach. The Williams camp walked back on that yesterday , they don't want to be looked like the villain but they never denied saying it. A few months ago he said he would only play for a few teams and wanted a piece of the franchise. Chicago wasnt on that list. He was run game coordinator under Carrol in Seattle, and worked with Waldron there. The staff is filling out really nicely! And unlike the first wave of hires, these people all had a specific connection to Waldron, so the chemistry is known already. Hopefully Morton has the juice to make Waldron run the ball more than he did previously. Man what a collapse in the second half. Detroit absolutely blew it against SF. I was rooting for the Lions as I know their fan base has suffered a lot, even more than we have. There's a lot to talk about in the coming year but lets look at the good things that's happened in his first two years He took a terrible cap situation and turned that around in one year. We had the most cap space last year and top 9 this year. I think he cuts Whitehair and Jackson and adds 20 mil to our cap putting us top 5 . That's a win win. So I saw a thread on Twitter on how SB winning teams have never had a QB that took more than 15% of the cap in any year to date. Which is odd considering most of the SBs were won by Brady, Roethlisberger, Mahomes, and Flacco over the last 20 years.
