http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...ng-me-positive/ Johnny Knox praises Hester for “keeping me positive” Posted by Mike Florio on May 31, 2012, 5:53 PM EDT AP As MDS has pointed out, Bears receiver Devin Hester is paying close attention to Brandon Marshall. But Hester has paid a different kind of attention to teammate Johnny Knox, and Knox is forever grateful for it. Knox praised Hester on Wednesday for showing true concern for Knox in the difficult months since Knox suffered a severe spinal injury during a December 2011 game. “Devin has done a great job of keeping me positive,” Knox said, via Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune. “H…

Here is a projection of our team from some idiot on Bleacher Report for 2012. Cutler- 56%-3024-18-28 his reasoning is Cutler just isnt a very good QB Forte-340/822-2tds-5 fumbles his reasoning that with him being unhappy will preform badly Bush- will be on IR because RBs that change teams get hurt Marshall-50-488-3 his reasoning is he will get in trouble and wont play a full season Jeffery-24-302-1td need to to develope Bennett-60-608-4 tds actually he is probably accurate with these numbers. The guys name is Bryce Jackson and I think he sounds like a GB high schooler that knows somebody on that website that let him write …

Here in an interesting article from NFP. The Philadelphia Eagles understand this process. With LeSean McCoy set to enter the final season of his four-year rookie contract, the Philadelphia front office cleared the necessary cap space and rewarded one of the league’s best running backs with a five-year contract extension worth $45 million with $20.765 million guaranteed on Thursday. McCoy is happy. The team is happy. 2012 could be a big year for the Birds. LeSean McCoy landed a lucrative new contract extension after a record-setting 2011 season. The McCoy deal serves as the most recent example of how the Eagles have done an excellent job of identifying, evalu…

I dont understand why Cutler and Marshall are blowing smoke up Hesters ass. He will just be a special play guy, not even going to be on the field 33% of offensive snaps, but everybody is lauding him. I dont get it. Marshall pretty well wont be leaving the field, Bennett and Jeffery will be the primary Wrs on the field and then Hester. We will see more two TE sets . Where is all the snaps for Hester. There is a reason he hasnt stood out as a WR since he got here, and I dont see him being special now. A PACKAGE PLAYER, sure he can get some plays, but dont see him geting more than 35 catches in his new row. What say you.

With all the good things we did this off season, the little thing we didnt do that what have made our team more reliable seems dumb at this point. Okeye was signed for 700 th, and 600 in incentives, why didnt we just sign him and not had to worry about the DT position for one more year. He wasnt special but what he added in rotation made our team better as proposed to signing 4 guys to try to fill that position. He wasnt expensive or long term. The dumbest thing we didnt do in the off season other than adding a OT in the draft.

(its a slow blog period) Does Wooten finally take a leap forward, or does he fade into possible of being dropped from the roster? I think that it exists he coulc be good this year and allow Idonije to move inside for rotation.

If you look at last year and with what teams gained this offseason, who will be the tougher defensive battles on our schedule. I dont see anybody very good till we get to maybe Dallas, and Jacksonville in the middle of the season. The games 10 and 11 gives us some stiff tests with the Texans and 49ers two weeks in a row. The Seahawks in week 13. Unless the Pack and Lions defenses take a large step forward we have only maybe 5 teams that you would consider tough defensive teams we will face all year. With that I see Cutler and Marshall tourching the league this year with big numbers, barring injury.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...alize-its-over/ T.O. still doesn’t realize it’s over Posted by Mike Florio on May 19, 2012, 9:14 AM EDT Getty Images A year ago, receiver Terrell Owens tore an ACL. In October, he held a public workout that no team attended. That same day, 53 other players got private workouts with individual teams. Since then, not a single NFL team has given Owens a workout, even though he has shown that he can play football, via his decision to play on a part-time basis in the Indoor Football League. Even now, with 90 players on each team’s offseason roster, no one has offered Owens an opportunity to come in and s…

Sean Jensen @seankjensen The #Bears only have $3.5 million in salary cap space, according to a league source. Bulk of the remaining needed for rookie class. Jensen tweets we have 3.5 mil left. So looks like we are done in FA. Looking forward to draft.

As the process never ends in my world I am making a list of players I think the Bears will keep a keen eye on as they draw out there scouting schedule. Next years draft, they will need two homeruns with the the first two picks as they have no 3rd RD. If things fall right this season, this should be a deep OLT draft. The positions as of today that they will need to add youth: OLT Chris Faulk LSU 6-6 325 Taylor Lewan Mich 6-8 302 Jake Matthews Tex AM 6-5 305 Oday Aboushi Virg 6-6 310 Luke Joeckel Tex AM 6-6 310 Ricky Wagner Wis 6-6 322 DJ Fluker Ala 6-6 335 DT Johnathan Hankins Ohio St 6-3 318 Star Lotuleile Utah 6-4 325 Kawann Short Purdu…

With Jays new toys this year where do you think he falls in QB ranking at the end of the season? Most national rankings have him listed as around 14-15th ranked QB in the league. I think he makes it to the top 10 this year with around 30 TBs and 4300 yards. Ahead of him will be Rodgers,Brady,Brees,Stafford,E. Manning,Newton,Vick,. I think he falls in the same spots as Rivers,P. Manning, and Rothenbeger this year. P. Manning would be higher, but injuries will take him out of some games. Vick and Newton only rank higher because of their rushing TDs. If we were more of a passing team, he would be close to the top 5, but the run will still be high on the list for …

I was thinking: if you could add ANY two NFL players (current) to the current Bears team, who would they be? I've thought long and hard about this, and I've decided that 3 months ago, I would've said Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson. But, the Bears just used a 2nd round pick on Alshon Jeffery and two 3rd's + $9m/year on Brandon Marshall. So, I came up with these two: Joe Thomas, LT, Browns Haloti Ngata, DT, Ravens Thomas and Ngata are both in their primes and both very good. The Bears OL would go from medicore to good in a heartbeat, and their DL would be McClellin-Melton-Ngata-Peppers. Honorable mention: Darelle Revis, Rob Gronkowski, Jared Allen.…
