The Chiefs are Bringing in Veteran Safety Mike Brown for a Visit by Chris on Jun 3, 2009 6:56 AM CDT in 2009 Offseason 16 comments View full size photo uploaded June 3, 2009 And the Scott Pioli strategy of filling out the roster with accomplished veteran NFL players continues: The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing in the veteran safety for a visit today, according to a league source, in a move that would reunite him with first-year head coach Todd Haley, who was the Bears' receivers coach from 2001 to 2003. The Bears let Brown's contract expire, and he has been a free agent for three months. Brown told another source he is motivated to prove he …

  5. Started by adam,

So we traded Howard (making $2M) to then sign Davis for $3M a year. However, due to that signing, we lost a 4th round comp pick for the loss of Amos. If we cut Davis by Saturday, the Bears would recoup the 4th rounder and still have the 6th rounder for Howard next April. If Pace is not a complete idiot (jury is still out), then he has to make this move. We could've kept Howard, saved $1M and had a backfield of Howard, Montgomery, and Cohen this year. It's still mind-boggling that the Bears made this move. Pace now seems like one of those dumb people who think they are the smartest guy in the room. The Bears are 29-43 under Pace and headed for the 4th last …

Nice signing, formerly of the Seahawks. I almost posted about him this morning after reviewing FA RBs. Was thinking Ware, Coleman, or Davis would make sense and now this. I like the signing, it reminds me of Trey Burton last season. "Davis ran 112 times for 4.6 yards per carry and caught 34 passes on 42 targets"

  7. Mike Ditka, Dan Hampton pile on Brian Urlacher Posted by Michael David Smith on May 21, 2010 12:52 PM ET Pretty soon, every living Chicago Bears Hall of Famer will have given Brian Urlacher a public scolding. First Hall of Fame running back Gale Sayers got into a war of words with Urlacher, then Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus took Sayers' side. Now Hall of Fame defensive tackle Dan Hampton and Hall of Fame tight end (and former head coach) Mike Ditka are dressing Urlacher down as well. Hampton told ESPN Chicago that Urlacher needs thicker skin. "You can't have thin skin if you can't win," Hampton said. "That's just the way it is. Buddy Ryan used t…

  9. Take it for what it is worth. Also indicates that they think Jim Bob Cooter (Lions OC) will be near the top of our list.

I know we have Shaheen, but man, Gesicki is tearing it up: His last two seasons: 48-679, 14.1, 5 TDs 57-563, 9.9, 9 TDs That is some great production and he is 6'6" and 250 lbs, so he is not just a workout warrior. Would you consider him as an option if he is sitting there in the 4th?

  11. Started by Pixote,

I found this short article interesting on ESPN.com. I am like most of you, a little nervous about the signing but trying to think positive. I think attitude and intangibles can be extremely important to the success of a player. This excerpt from the article mentioned is what I found encouraging:

I was listening to Doug Buffone and Hub Arkush on 670 the Score tonight. They brought up a good point. Why hasn't Mike Hass gotten a look, still? He catches anything that's thrown to him. Now, i'm not saying he'd be a great WR. But, i think he could be a solid WR given the chance to prove himself. For a team that needs all the weapons on offense. Hass is only 25 years old. Enough is enough, give the guy a damn look!
