“He earned it,” coach John Fox told reporters Wednesday before practice. “It’s not something we handed him for any particular reason other than he earned it.” http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...82-fd0230b38256 Nice positive read

Ok it's gotten past the slump buster stage. I thought he was being sarcastic the first time I heard him. But he is serious. It's time to just bench him and hope they keep losing so he can come back in a week or two and think it's not just my fault. Which it's not. His head is just not able to process all the info it's getting at this time, I hope. His mind just doesn't seem to know how to process, not just the play on the field, but also the fallout from it. Over load Over load. Says a retired mailman who can't even begin t understand all the plays in pro football. Not sure if that makes my opinion better or worse. LOL

Same age as Forte, can't believe how fast MJD fell off the map. Has 30 more carries than Forte.

I believe the Legion of Boom was notorious for this, but did anyone watch the MNF game last night? Detroit's defense has seemed to adopt the Legion of Boom's tactics of holding and DPI on every play knowing the refs won't call them all. They basically conditioned the officials during the game to allow DPI later in the game, and it worked. There were at least 3 no-calls that were easy DPI calls that changed the outcome of the game. Carlton Davis (DET DB) is also allowed to yell in the face of officials, touch them multiple times, but Marsh (PIT game a few years ago) can get bumped by an official and he is called for a penalty? Super weird, but if the Bears have…

Just wanted to see what your thoughts were on my newest mock draft. Trade down in the 1st, pick up a 3rd and a 5th. 1. Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee ---Before the Senior Bowl, his toughness and ability to get the QB were questioned and he was a 3rd rounder. He had a great week of practices and a great Senior Bowl. He's a late 1st-early 2nd guy now. 2. Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers ---All is quiet on the Kenny Britt front. He'll probably run a measly 4.6 40 at the combine which hopefully will help him fall here. 3. 3. Fenuki Tupou, RT, Oregon ---He's a good pass AND run blocker. He can play RT or LT. It's about time we added an islander. 3. Jairus Byrd, CB, Ore…

Today was a great day for Phil Emery. He brought in one of the top TE's and a LT that has been to 2 probowls. Two positions that had cost the Bears many chances to win last season. It seems like we get a Christmas every offseason, which hopefully with some good drafts will not be needed in the future. Bears signings: Martellus Bennett TE - One of top all around TE's available, if Bennett keeps his head in the game. Jermon Bushrod LT- 2 time probowl LT for Brees, Bushrod faced a pass rush probably close to 70% of the game. The Bears won't be as pass happy and more balanced, throwing off opposing DE's that normally were ready to attack. *Brian Ur…

Currently the Bears have nine picks: 1.11-1250pts 2.41-490 3.72-230 4.103-88 5.138-37 6.167-24.6 6.186-17 6.188-16.2 7.198-12.2 Here's my challenge. Come up with a trade back scenario based on another team's needs that would net the Bears at least 12 picks. The more complicated the better (as long as it's realistic). Then make your mock with those picks. Trade 1: CHI(1.11-1250pts) for STL(2.43-470pts, 2.45-450pts, 3.76-210pts) - STL feels the heat and trades up for their QB of the future but makes the big splash by not giving up their 1st. Trade 2: CHI(2.45-450pts) for PHI(3.77-205, 3.79-195, 6.170-23.4) - The Eagles don't have a secon…

Heres what im thinkin.... 1st a - Darrius Heyward-Bey (WR) Absolute beast of a wide reciever. Extremely fast with great size b - Jeremy Maclin (WR) More of a reciever than Bey and can be used all over the field c - Taylor Mays (S) My personal choice, this dude is a monster at safety. Size and speed our secondary lacks. If we keep Mike Brown, he could teach this kid to be a superstar. 2nd a - Phil Loadhalt (OT) Perfect run blocking monster. 6'8 330. Wed be set at both sides of the line. b - Torrance Taylor (DT) Not happy with anyone but Harris as of late. 3rd a - Brannan Sutherland (FB) Jason McKie, nothing more to say b - Marcus …

Round1 - Alec Ogletree ILB Ga - With Urlachers days numbered, the Bears need to find a new center fielder to cover the middle. Emery has also stated that in round 1, he wants players that can win you games and be the difference maker. I think his speed/athletism will be a big boost to an aging D. They can opt to hold back and take someone like Fluker or Jones and have a solid player, but they are not known as players that can win games by themselves. I think going D in round 1 will give the Bears the freedom to use the rest of the draft rebuild the offense. Round2 - Trade to San Fransico for two 3rds, a 4th, and a 5th. San Fran had an abundance of picks anywa…

Just thought it'd be fun to do some mocks and post em here... Drop your mock and make some mentions.... This one I did, I'm not really sure if we could realistically trade Whitehair or Mooney, but I did. My overall premise was to move past JF1, and grab the swing at the fence of Caleb. Seems after doing that, the top WR's dried up. So, I went Edge. Nabbed our C, S, G, DT, and TE. Also got some depth at LB, HB, CB, and OT. I went Rice w the 1st WR taken because he could already have a rapport w Caleb Williams. Went Williams as a deep shot WR. Feel like WR is my weakest element. Need a FA!

No matter who the Bears select in the draft, they will most likely have a bad defense next year. That is almost a lock. So, what if the team just said, "Screw it. Let's try to get the young guys more playing time, coach them up, let them develop, and see what we have? Pick up a few free agents to fill in holes. In the meantime, let's improve the best part of our team, the offense." RD1 - Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford - Starts day 1. Mills rides the pine. RD2 - Hroniss Grasu, C, Oregon - Starts at C, moves Garza over to G, or the bench. RD3 - Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma - If he drops (lots of speculation), this is a monster steal. Great addition. RD4 -…

Just for fun I thought of it from TD's point of view (seriously, without jest): The Bears absolutely have to get rid of Cutler. Conservatively, I think the Bears can get a 4th for him. Maybe a 3rd. Let's say TN wants him. 1 - Shane Ray, DE, Missouri --or-- Randy Gregory, DE, Nebraska - Whoever they like best and fits the scheme to be run. 2 - Derron Smith, FS, Fresno St. - Best FS in the draft. Great instincts. Good angles. Awesome hands. Predicts passes and jumps routes. 3 - Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor - He's pretty much the antithesis of Cutler at QB. 4 - Deshazor Everett, CB, TX A&M - He already has a history of crushing Green Bay players. 4 - Jake Fish…

I GMed the NFLfans Mock Draft this past weekend for the Bears over on www.nflfans.com, so I thought I'd let people know how things went (spoiler alert: BEST DRAFT EVER!). Ok, not really. But considering the holes the Bears have and the guys I got, I think this would really help the talent base on the team in some key places and hopefully put the Bears in position to get back to the top of the division where they belong. The breakdown (with video highlights when I could find them): 1) Branden Albert, OT/OG, Virginia - I was planning to go OL in the first and had my choice of Albert, Williams, and Otah. For me, the decision was between Williams and Albert. I took Alber…
