I've seen some rumors that the Bears are interested in Arthur Brown. I watched a couple highlight videos, including all of this one and I'm not that impressed. I see him as a 2nd Rd selection because a) he's not that big he gets lost a lot on the field giving up some big plays. He can play with some leverage for his size but I'd say he's a replacement for Briggs and will never be a MLB in the NFL. Ogletree has some of the same issues but he's bigger and stronger and I see him making making more impact plays. Despite the character flaws I prefer Ogletree in Rd 1.

I would rather see him start to at least give us a chance next week. If Jay starts, we will lose. GB is in his head. Please just come up with a phantom injury.

He just came out of the closet....Wondering how you old school guys feel about this. Some quotes from anonymous NFL front office people think this hurts his draft status. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-f...am-draft-stock/ There WILL be meathead fans that will get on him if he struggles, and the media is sure to be all over him for awhile....As long as he has thick skin I think he'll be just fine. I think he can hang at DE but would be more of an ideal fit as a rush LB....If the Bears run some sort ofhybrid, I really wouldn't mind drafting him if he ends up falling to the 4th round. He can back up his teammate Kony Ealy as the hybrid DE/OL…

  4. Early reports are GB is making a play to get him...God please no!!

  5. Here we go! Another division game and a chance to go to 8-3 with a few extra days of rest after Thursday's game. Detroit is decimated with injuries and will more than likely be without Kerryon Johnson and Marvin Jones. They already traded Tate, so they will literally have two receiving threats, Golladay and Riddick. No other player has more than 12 receptions or 100 yards receiving. There leading rusher will be Blount (who I believed burned us a few years ago). Payback is a bitch. Sweeping the Lions in the season series on Thanksgiving would be sweet. I heard this is the quickest two-game span in NFL history (from the end of the Sunday night game until kickoff…

  6. The Bears have a chance to win the Division, while knocking GB out of playoff contention, in front of their home crowd, it doesn't get much better than this. It should be one of those "passing the torch" type of games with a win. We need to stay ahead of Dallas and depending on if LAR or NO tank, we have an outside shot at a bye. GB is 2-5 since their bye and has fired McCarthy. They are 1-0 without him beating a hapless Falcons team 34-20. They do have an easy schedule after us (NYJ and DET), so there is still a sliver of hope if they somehow beat us and win out, which would put them at 8-7-1. The good thing is they can't pass us regardless of the outcome of the res…

  7. 5-5 Bears at 7-3 Packers. The Packers just lost to Indy while the Bears won the bye week. I don't have a good feeling about this one. The offense is beyond repair. I expect it to be a 2-3 score deficit, Packers 31-17. The defense has to defend against too many short fields and Skrine gets exposed time and time again. Rinse and repeat.

I know there are a lot of haters on Leno and he’s certainly had his struggles, but this makes the O-line worse going into the year. I don’t have confidence in Jenkins as your day 1 LT but there aren’t really any other options unless they sign Eric Fisher to a cheaper contract or something.

GM's, I want to get a jump on the league compared to last year as we cut it really close in terms of replacement GMs and payments. So I need to get confirmation by 12 AUG that you intend to play this year. I will send out reminders weekly to ensure those that may not visit the site are getting the notifications as well. Once 12 AUG hits, we will start looking for replacement GMs to fill your slot. Here are the league dates: Confirm GM status for the season: 12 AUG Payment via LeagueSafe: 26 AUG (David has already paid) League Draft Window: 27 AUG - 03 SEP Week 1: 09 SEP So for those that frequent the site regularly, pleas…

Maybe I should setup a poll but I'm just curious if anyone else (besides me) would trade Cohen? He's not a RB and he's good as a slot WR but doesn't really offer the deep threat we need. He is one of the best PR in the league so that has value. It's a deep WR draft so I'm not sure any teams would bite but then again he's a proven commodity which is a big deal as compared to any day 3 draftee. Plus he's relatively cheap at $2mil for the year. That said if we do draft a player like Reagor or Aiyuk who can both do the PR duties when/where does Cohen earn snaps? We're still hanging onto Patterson as the trick play guy and he's better at that than Cohen is. We cou…

  13. The 2-1 Colts come to Soldier Field as 2 point favorites against the undefeated Chicago Bears. No one picked the Bears to win in Atlanta, and no one is picking the Bears against the Colts. With the QB change (which was the biggest variable for the last 3+ yrs), this should be a good matchup for the Bears. Phillip Rivers comes to town and is a very turnover prone QB. I like our chances against him. In a way, our teams are very similar in composition. Vet QB that is not very mobile, young RB, solid WR's, good Edge Rushers, etc. If you do a player by player breakdown, I like our chances against them. I am going with Bears 27-17 and the Bears go to 4-0 with a decisive w…

  14. Bears start out as 6.5 underdogs. For a 5-1 playing a 4-2 team, you would think the spread would be closer to 3. This still shows that oddsmakers do not respect the Bears. I love it. The Rams just lost to the 49ers with Kittle and Samuel having success against the Rams defense. The vaunted Rams defense did not get a sack or turnover. We need a big day from our TE's (STOP THROWING TO HARRIS). Goff only completed 50% of his passes, had 1 INT and only 5.2 yds per attempt. He didn't get sacked, but they had pressure on him all game.

I have to say that despite what the stats say for yesterday that I am starting to see good things from this starting unit. I was glad that they decided to keep Lance Louis in there in to the 3rd. We saw some very good things from this unit like the beautiful blocks by Louis and Kruetz and Greg Olsen sealing his block as well to spring Forte for his 89 yd run. We also saw the bad. i.e. Chris Williams. Wimbley ate him up for dinner last night.

  17. 1. Despite what I want, Eberflus is staying I believe. I simply don't think he has what it takes as a HC to get us to the promised land. 2. I'm fine with whatever Poles does at QB. Going JF1 or drafting a new guy. Poles has done well enough in his time here that I'm willing to let him do what he feels is best. As always, I reserve the right to disagree with it, if the moves proves incorrect. But, I'll damn well support whoever is under center next season. 3. Pardon my French, but F&*K I wanna beat GB so bad!!!! Sure, evidence points that we will lose for the 10th time in a row... But, dammit I want this! Cheers fellas!

Time to kick off the draft process... I've only just begun looking into draft prospects and there are already some names on this list I'd love to draft like Walter Nolen. TJ Sanders. Deone Walker at 6'6" 345lbs is a unicorn as a pass rusher but why can't he stop the run? I gotta start digging into the other names on this list. https://thedraftnetwork.com/2025/01/23/senior-bowl-2025-edge-idl-primer
