Yesterday I spent my annual trip to Bear's TC on my B-day. I have just a few points to make and I'll keep it short. 1. It was hot as Hell yesterday and I was wondering how these guys could practice in this intense heat for 2 hours. 2. The most intense groups working out at camp are the offensive and defensive lines where the only skirmish of the day occurred and the sound of the pads hitting was the loudest from these groups. 3. Julius Peppers is a very huge man and looks bigger in person than he does on TV. 4.Greg Olsen worked out with the WRs when the offense was working on running drills 7 on 7 while Clark, Davis and Angulo worked in the running drl…

Less than a month away for Christmas amongst die hard NFL fans. Here is my April fools make a wish draft 1-11 trade to NY Jets for Muhammad Wilkerson and pick 1-20. The contract will not be easy to build with the Jets cannot keep him. 1-20 William Jackson III CB -Fox wanted to add speed, Jackson has length, speed, and is a top 2-3 CB 2-41 Jaylon Smith LB- I am predicting a good re-check and news he should make a full recovery. 3-71 Sean Davis S - Davis is under the radar, but look at his measurables and game tape. He will be good. 4-106 Pharoh Cooper WR- Eddie Royal was expected to be a clutch slot, he barely seen the field. PC adds insurance & KR 4-1…

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/break...0,4746067.story Isn't that exactly what I was trying to say all off season? Things then escalated after all the childish remarks came in. I shared the same thoughts our GM did and got shit for it, that is what was incredibly frustrating to me. My opinion wasn't wrong. My opinion wasn't that he'll be an all pro lineman. My opinion was exactly what Emery said, “Coming into this fall, we were very optimistic that he was going to be our starting right tackle and would continue to improve as a player”. I was called a "broken record" numerous times, well of course, no football was played for my opinion to change. How can I …

1st Round - Pick #14 - Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbilt - With Clady off the board, the Bears had their choice between Williams, Albert, and Otah. These picks can be argued back and forth, but Williams seems to be the one most ready to help out this year. He is a stellar pass blocker (only 2 sacks allowed in over 1,500 snaps) who needs to improve on his run blocking. He only did 21 reps at the combine, but he can always improve his strength. Williams will always be compared to Otah and Albert. Reminds me of Tommie Harris vs Vince Wilfork. Grade: A- 2nd Round - Pick #44 - Matt Forte, RB, Tulane - This was one of those picks that can easily be disputed as much as it …

Here we go: 1. If Fields makes it to #4, the Bears move up to get him in a package that includes Miller (with the news of ATL wanting to move Julio) and obviously a bunch of picks. 2. If the Bears can't move up, Pace will trade down and take Mond in the late first. 3. A QB will be drafted for the first time since Trubisky. 4. Pace will trade up at least once in the draft. 5. Pace will draft at least one D2 player. 6. Pace will have conviction on all his picks. 7. Pace will mention the amount of collaboration the team had on all their picks. 8. At least 2x UDFA's will make the roster.

The Bears currently have eight picks in the 2008 draft, one in each of the seven rounds plus an additional third-round selection they obtained in a draft-day trade with the San Diego Chargers last year. The Bears dealt their fifth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for defensive tackle Darwin Walker, but regained a fifth-round pick from the Carolina Panthers in a deal for safety Chris Harris. The Bears also could be awarded a compensatory pick or two after losing free agents such as Alfonso Boone, Todd Johnson, Ian Scott and Cameron Worrell. -from Bears Chalk Talk on chicagobears.com So as it stands now, here's how I see our draft goin'... 1. Trade #20 to Falcons for #30, a 3rd, 4th, and 7th this year and a 4th next year. 1) Arthur Brown, LB, Kansas State - Can challenge Anderson and Williams for a starting spot this year. 2) Barrett Jones, OL, Alabama - Just what the Bears need - someone who can step in and start at whatever their weakest position on the OL is. 3) Stedman Bailey, WR, West Virginia - Immediate slot contributor and his production last year suggests he could be much more. 4a) Leon McFadden, CB, San Diego St. - Good fit at the nickel and hopefully can learn from Tillman and Jennings. 4b) Bennie Logan, DT, LSU - Good all-around tackle to go with Melton and Paea. 5) Zac Dysert, QB, M…

This is a bit of blend of what I want to happen and what I think will happen, based on my review of Emery's drafts with the Chiefs and Falcons: 1) Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina - I think he'll slide and I think we'll take him. Makes a ton of sense here where one NC lineman with motor concerns can learn from another. 2) Jeff Allen, OT, Illinois - The Bears' comfort with LT turns out to be a bit of a smokescreen. Allen has been moving up and is known as one of the best pass protectors in the draft, just what this team needs. Plus, Emery has a history with Illinois linemen (drafted Jon Asamoah). 3) Brian Quick, WR, Appalachain State - Emery loves big W…

After watching the Bears continue to get stuffed on the goal line, Jerry Angelo better draft oline (once again). I want to see us bring in some big gritty porkers that can control the line for years. Other needs I see DT, Harris is done. CB to bring depth/competition. RB-change of pace back w/ top end speed. DE to keep pressure on competition. LB to replace Hunter and play ST. 1-26 Mike Pouncey G Florida 6-5 320 Can play center also, but projects as a guard. Strength is his power at the point of attack and athleticism. 2-58 Kristopher O'Dowd C USC 6-5 298 Extemely strong center that excels in the run game. 3-90 Colby Whitlock DT Texas Tech 6…

The entire week after Lovie got fired, the media shoved our 10-6 record up our keesters. Saying how bad it was to get rid of Lovie. Heck, even Da' Coach chimed in with his displeasure. Then, they ripped our incompetance in the form of Emery having 13 candidates for HC. Now, Emery strikes fast with his decision and we become 2nd page news to Chip Kelly to the Eagles. Listen to real NFL people say how great a move it was to hire Trestman. To finish my rant, where the heck is Lovie going to be HC? Eight openings and he's not a finalist for anything. F#%$ you media!

  12. Obviously we all hope he has better talent evalution skills for first round talent. But that's not my #1 hope for Phil. You all know I've been harping about the O Line for ages and I'm assuming we'll address it better than JA did in his years at the helm. But no, that's not it either. As far as my biggest hope for a difference from JA, I'd have to say I'd want better luck at avoiding injury-prone guys. I don't know if it was just JA taking flyers on guys with known injury issues or bad health histories, or just bad luck. So there you have it... Draft guys who will actually play some football for us. Sounds pretty basic.

Allright MadLith (and all other non-Lovie advocates), I will concede that if Lovie and Co. cannot pull it together this year and at the very least make it to the playoffs, away he (and they) go. With the additions of Peppers, Taylor, Manumaleuena (sp?), Cutler and who else??? then there is absolutely no excuse the Bears should not be contenders for the upcoming year...or for a few afterwards. This is another fantastic day in Bears history.

Let's put everything together... 1) Reports have come out that he hated being drafted by the Bears, thus the crying 2) Numerous stupid statements in the media - begins to irritate the fan-base 3) Hold out - immediately getting the management and city against him 4) Pouting because he was behind TJ, a superior RB as far as production (and biceps) - irritates all 5) More stupid comments - Irritation level rising 6) Allegations of playing soft, and not playing while hurt (read: hurt is not injured) - irritates teammates 7) Bears cut Tank - precedent set 8) Boat incident Pause. This is where we need to pause and realize that this guy KNEW he was on th…

We're just a couple weeks out so I figured I'd put together my mock draft. I used position rankings from http://nfldraftscout.com/position-rankings/ . 1/8 Tremaine Edmunds ILB He combines with Trevathan to give us outstanding defense in the middle of the field, and spends some time at OLB. 2/39 Billy Price OC Move Whitehair back to LG. Price is stout up front, let's keep the pocket clean in front of Trubisky so he can step up when needed, and run Howard up the middle. 4/105 Kemoko Turay OLB He's got all the athletic talent to be a stud pass rusher. Can he overcome his injury history? 4/115 Jamarco Jones OT Backup for a …
