About 44 hours from the start of the first round, here's what I would do if I was the Bears: *Trade down - #29 for a high/mid 2nd, high/mid 4th, and 7th (unless Carimi or Liguit falls, I don't see value for the Bears)** 2a. Orlando Franklin, OT/OG, Miami - An immediate starter somewhere on the line, Franklin brings a nastiness sorely lacking on our offensive line. 2b. Drake Nevis, DT, LSU - Nevis isn't a great fit on a lot of teams, but he's a perfect fit here to replace Tommie Harris. 3. Mason Foster, LB, Washington - Incredibly productive LB from a lesser Pac-10 school taken in the third round, in a bit of a surprise, by the Chicago Bears? Hey, it wo…

If I were running the show I'd want to do two main things, and one supplementary thing: -Shore up the OL by picking a LT that can start day-one. -Pick long, rangy, athletic defensive players to infuse the team with some burst. *Use late picks on risks with great reward. Here's how I'd do it. 1. Ronnie Stanley, LT, ND (Bookend for a decade) 2. Artie Burns, CB, Miami (Shutdown corner. Perfect fit with great potential.) 3. Carl Nassib, DE, PSU (Love his drive, determination, length. Perfect 5T for the Bears.) 4. Dak Prescott, QB, MSU (The more I watch of him, the more underrated I think he is. He has great potential.) 4. Jerell Adams, TE, SC (Big…

We all know the inherent flaws to this concept, but it's an interesting test nonetheless. I ran three what-if mocks (two of which are previous threads) through the process. Fanspeak draft where Leonard Williams falls 1(7)-LEONARD WILLIAMS, DT, 3 = +4 2(39)-BENARDRICK MCKINNEY, ILB, 51 = -12, total -8 3(71)-DERRON SMITH, S, 103 = -32, total -40 4(106)-ROB HAVENSTEIN, T, 115 = -9, total -49 5(142)-IFO EXPRE-OLOMU, CB, 99 = +43, total -6 6(182)-SEAN MANNION, QB, 140 = +42, total +36 So we gain a 5th rounder. Talksbears attempt to agree mock 1(20)- MALCOLM BROWN, DT, 22 = -2 2(39)- DEVIN SMITH, WR, Ohio State, 47 = -8, total -10 2(52)- …

RD2-49 Louis Delmas FS - With the 1st and 2nd level WR's off the board, the Bears select the top rated FS. RD3-99 Mohammed Massaquoi WR - Bears had him targeted in RD2- Massaquoi is a quick big target the Bears are looking for. RD4-119 Zack Follett SLB - Bears need an upgrade over Roach/Hunter, Zack is a hard hitter, superb instincts, pass rushing mutha that JA is drooling over. RD5-140 Matt Shaughnessy DE - Hard worker that needs some fine tuning and body refinement. Attn:RodM/RustyJ RD5-154 Jason Watkins OT - Developmental player to groom behind Pace, Shaffer, and Williams. Another RT/LT prospect. RD6-190 Brandon Tate WR - Bears take a shot on a playm…

1. Joseph Barksdale, LSU, OT ---Barksdale projects as a RT in the NFL which would be my biggest need. I'm not willing to give up on Chris Williams yet. 2. Jeremy Beal, Oklahoma, DE ---Beal has been pretty good this year and we need help from Peppers. Anderson has been bad and Idonije isn't much better. As much as I'd rather see them take an OG or C, getting to QB's is pretty damn important. 3. Jon Moffitt, Wisconsin, OG ---Moffitt is a mauler and Garza has been terrible. BEARS TRADE TOMMIE HARRIS THE GIANTS FOR THEIR 3RD ROUND PICK 3. Stephen Paea, Oregon State, DT ---Paea is an underachiever so far but a steal in round 3.

In the first 72 hours of FA, King Poles will sign Dre'Mont Jones, McGlinchey, and Okereke (to satisfy Flus). Those are my guesses. How about you? Who do you think Poles will sign? Gimme your top 3. #BTFD Note - those are not who I want, but who I think the Bears will target. I would rather see McGary than McGlinchey (price and performance).

For my entire life the Chicago Bears have been portrayed as blue collar, hard nosed, black and blue, great defense and great running game. It hasn't worked for over 30 years! Time fix it, once and for all. We have a chance to create the greatest offense we have ever had. It all begins with my tag line from the old site, "IT ALL STARTS UP FRONT". It's time! We have an opportunity to draft the final two pieces to an OL that has been neglected for decades. Those are decades of not developing a QB or winning a Superbowl. I'm not saying who Poles should draft, he has multiple options at RT and C. All I am asking is to get it done and do it with certainty. Other t…

I want us to draft this guy anywhere on day 3. He can block he can run better than Kmet and he seems to have equally good hands. He does not have the movement skills of Loveland. I see him as a good fit for our TE2 a year down the road. The fact he was Loveland teammate should only help him acclimate to the team quicker. I’ll be using this thread to track my guys in this draft. Feel free to throw in yours.

I've been in Thailand all winter bored and retired. I have probably averaged 4 hours a day with football content. It doesn't make me some kind of expert but has given me a perspective. They are players I like that I think will be great, good or a sleeper type. I like players that are productive, has attitude, hard workers and love football. In no particular order just some players I like. Weapons: Mathew Golden/ WR , jaylon Noel/WR, Tyler Warren/ TE, Harold Fannin Jr/ TE, Jeanty/ RB, Hampton/RB, Judkins/ RB, OL: Campbell/ multi spots, Armand Membou/ multi spots, Grey Zabel/ multi spots,, Johan Savaiinaea/ OG, Ersery/LT, Marcus Mbow/OC,, Donavon Jackson/OG…

I have digested so much information, I need to make some comments before my hair turns completely blonde, and I become confused. I think the Bears want to draft a DE in the first round, with choices in order,Coples,Ingram,Merculis,Jones, Perry. There should be one of them there at that spot, so what will change that. If Reiff drops, I think they like him a lot and will draft him, leaving DE for the second round. Choices for second round: Branch, and Curry, I think in this situation they take Branch. The possiblity exists Jones may drop so he would be the choice. If Cox or Brockers drops, I think stong possiblity exists they grab one of them, and go back…

As some of you might recall, I posted my highschool highlight tape on here last year. Well, after one year at JuCo, I have another highlight tape to share with you all. I am #62 and playing Right Tackle. I am in the Navy or White tops with gray pants. Started every game and did not miss a single snap. I am hoping to go D-I and am 90% certain I will stay 1 more year at JuCo in hopes of getting the best offers possible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRp0rHIfCeM

My hope and theory is the Bears have something in place to address an upgrade at Edge, but it won't come until after June 1st, whether that is with a free agent or thru a trade. That is my only hope, otherwise this feels like a very weak offseason where they side-graded because of the losses at C and S. So the additions of Bradury and Jones are a wash with Dalman. Bryant and Thieneman are an upgrade at Safety, but if the DLine can't stop the run or rush the passer, how effective will the secondary even be? Then on offense, you traded your WR1 in hopes that your other guys will elevate, but ultimately all the other moves were rotational or backup in nature. So technically…

Sign Sidney Rice and Davin Joseph, then draft: 1 - Mike Pouncey, OG, Florida Day 1 starter at LG, lets Chris Williams move back to LT. A line of Williams-Pouncey-Kreutz-Joseph-Webb should be more than adequate, with Omiyale as the swing tackle and Garza backing up the interior line. 2 - Drake Nevis, DT, LSU Ready-made three-technique DT. Has drawn comparisons to Tommie Harris in college, should be able to replace Tommie early in his rookie season. Quick off the snap, has a decent pass-rush repertoire already, and is surprisingly strong for his size. Allows the team to cut Tommie and use Toeaina/Melton to spell Adams and Nevis. That's a solid d-line rotat…

So, this is the type of haul we could get by trading back. It would definitely be sick to get 9 picks in the first three rounds. A couple of the odd looking picks are Johnny Wilson and Beaux Limmer. I'm converting Wilson to TE and Limmer to OG. Limmer is an absolute freak athlete, who should make an excellent guard. F it, Bagent could make an eventual playoff run if we get this stacked. My official vote will come at the end of combine...

Because I have to stop. 1) Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville - Donald and HaHa are gone, making this an easy pick. **Trade down in 2nd for extra 4th and 7th** 2) Kelcey Quarles, DT, South Carolina - I'm not convinced there's much difference in the 2nd/3rd round DTs and I'm not sure the Bears do either, which is why a trade down makes sense. Guys have a history of either underachieving (McCullers), injury (Easley), weight (Sutton) or something. The Bears take a healthy guy who big question mark is "How much better did Clowney make him look?" The Bears spent time with him at the combine and they love their SEC players. 3) Marqueston Huff, CB, Wyoming - This seems lik…

So I've tried to put together one last mock, using (for the most part) players the Bears have been linked to in the past few weeks. I used CBS Sports' rankings as a rough guide for where each prospect will be available, and I've linked each guy to his profile on their site, except for Mike Mitchell, who doesn't have one. All right, enough said, here's what I'd like to see on draft weekend: 2.49) Juaquin Iglesias - WR - Oklahoma Simply catches everything thrown to him. Hands are almost on par with Robiskie/Nicks. Fast enough to get separation, but still goes 6'1" 210 lbs. Projects well to either a #2 or slot receiver, giving the Bears some flexibility if Bennet…

First, I would like to say happy holidays to everybody and hope all is going well ! It's been a pretty disappointing season and our football future seems to be up for grabs right now unfortunately. Many have been screaming for heads but few will fall. I believe Angelo and above are safe for a long time. Lovie will probably be safe for another year maybe two. He is a Mc Caskey favorite, and keeps everything under wraps and doesn't make waves . More then likely he will get a new O staff. But who in there right mind will take this O.C. job ? Answer: unemployed friends , some college OC , how about someone on their own staff already ? Sounds wonderful and…
