Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. 1. Today on my facebook I've had an article talking about 5th round draft pick Johnny Knox and one about 6th round Patrick Mannelly. The point of what was posted was their rounds. I love them both as Bears, but they are both exceptions to the rule. I know the Bears have a lot of lower picks, but I mean really.... Are they going for a we got rid of of the Black Unicorn but you may get one of these guys kind of thing?

I know there is a lot of angst about PFF and there is valid debate about their scoring system. Nonetheless, to be listed among top 10 players in the entire league for Week 5 is a really good sign for our rookie center. Did anyone expect to see Whitehair on a list that has players such as Von Miller, Tom Brady, and ex-Bear Mason Foster? https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-top-10...-week-5-action/

How long before this guy gets reps with the 1st team at RT? Mills by all accounts has not looked good so far while Leno has seemingly played well when he's gotten a shot at LT (when Bushrod had a day off Sat). I think this coaching staff is far from settled on who our top 5 Oline are and I'm not sure I'd move Long out to RT as everyone else wants to do. We have Montgomery (a career backup C) or Grasu (a rookie) in the middle and I'd much rather have either Center covered by Slauson/Long than Slauson/Ola/Groy/Ducasse. We can help someone like Leno/Mills at RT with Bennett or just have the RBs chip that way too. No matter what we might think nobody really knows how we…

There's a lot of mention of "fire sale",etc...and I'm not sure that's the case. A few have mentioned here that we simply got rid of and got something for guys that weren't working out for us. If we see Bennett or Forte moved, then I think we're in a full scale youth movement. Until that happens, I think the regime stays their course. Keep drafting young talent, pick up a few key FA's and attempt to retain a handful of big contract guys. Bennett: I do see Bennett leaving after his contract, so there is a good reason to shop him. However, we can still use him. He's under contract for a little while and we can tag him. Forte: Either we get the hometown d…

    2. Brian Robiskie, WR, Ohio State ---Robiskie falls, and all this Wallace and Massaquoi talk is a huge smokescreen. 3. Darcel McBath, FS, Texas Tech ---FS who is of solid value here. 4. Henry Melton, DE, Texas ---Pure 4-3 DE's are hard to find in this draft. Melton's physical attributes fit that bill pretty well. 5. Mark Parson, CB, Ohio ---CB depth and of good value. 5. Aaron Kelly, WR, Clemson ---WR depth- big redzone target at 6'5 205. 6. Willie VanDeSteeg, DE, Minnesota ---DE depth. 7. Lydon Murtha, OT, Nebraska ---OT depth. 7. Conredge Collins, FB, Pittsburgh ---McKie is brutal. Period. Thoughts?

Reading this article about Curtis Johnson and hearing about how Loggains is very upbeat and energetic it is clear our sideline is not going to be a quiet boring place like it often was under Trestman. Curtis Johnson brings the same meticulous detail that Trestman had but with a whole lot more energy and discipline behind it. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0611-story.html

Here is what Forte said: http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth/post/_/id...heed-matt-forte I know they want to make football safer, but this seems almost counter productive as runners would not be able to protect themselves from a hit. Almost the first thing you learn to do is lower your shoulders when you are about to get hit. Now they want you to stay upright as the defender plows into your ribs at full speed? How about just improve the helmet and move to some sort of kevlar composite that absorbs some of the impact.

With Stafford being injured(Day to Day) and the growing faction of NFL players calling out Suh the bloom on this rose may be fading. This all may be attributed to their very emotional coach.Best injured as well as the whole league is starting to see what it is the Lions are doing. The other thing I like is that they don't have a bye this week and the Bears can prepare for both the Eagles and Lions their next two opponnents.

So got another "off the wall" scenario for you. WHAT IF Peyton was to decide to retire? Would he be worth considering as an OC? What about at least a QB coach? We know he's a student of the game. He has a few weeks to decide and is closing in on 40 (which makes him older than our GM by the way).

It was just reported that the Bears practiced on Wednesday and Thursday in the US, then flew Friday. Meanwhile, the Bucs flew earlier in the week. As someone who has flown across the globe numerous times, I can tell you jet lag is a real issue. It takes more than a day to overcome the time differences in some instances. Some times it doesn't. I've flown from the US to New Zealand and recovered immediately. However, I've flown to Europe on more than one occasion that took multiple days to recover. In my opinion, it was a bad decision by Lovie and ownership to fly late in the week. If they come out slow and lethargic, it will not surprise me.

I know there's a lot of virtual high fives going on here today but damn if I don't find it a bit premature. Let's take a look... * The Bears are retaining Lovie Smith, a move I approve of, but in the process they're saddling the new GM with a coach he may not want. With that said, it could be that the Bears will really tell the new GM to make his choice and they'll cut Lovie loose later if that's the decision. This is a big unknown. Meanwhile Lovie is left hanging with no OC. * Speaking of that OC, Cutler will need to learn yet another system. This isn't impossible but it doesn't give me warm fuzzies either. Who will it be? Guys, we could end up with Sh…
