2022 is going to be a major transitional year for the team. We will part ways with close to half of the team. Something else to make the off season interesting is that we'll have to, once again, rely on free agency to field a team. Of course, let's start with the offense. Mooney is the only receiver on the 53 man roster under contract for next year. My thoughts are to draft this position as high as possible. This player must be a true number 1. Between the draft and FAgency we need several spots to upgrade. We cant fix everything in one season,so these are the positions I think immediate upgrade. OL-I think we need to grab a 1st round OT, there seems to be 5 listed as 1st round grades, but will need more research to pinpoint what valve that will be at with the 20th pick. Looking like I might squeak out a win this week. Even if I don't I should remain the #2 seed in my league. But there are enough teams that could challenge me for that spot and things go really poorly I could even find myself on the outside looking in if I don't win next week (especially if I don't pull it out this week. In our league we have a waiver priority number rather than a FAB system. The priorities don't reset each week. So I currently have the #2 priority. If I use it I move to the back of the line. So for our 2 year anniversary my wife wants me to pick out a Bears jersey. I want to go with an orange Mack Jersey, but on the NFL shop online the only orange Mack jerseys (or any Mack jersey for that matter) are the ones with the screen printed name/number etc. I don't see anywhere on the NFL shop to get the version with the stitched names/number, etc. like they used to sell as "authentic" vs cheap screen print. I prefer the stitched as the screened ones crack and peel. I noticed that there are different versions of the Nike jerseys. Where the Limited and Elite both have stitched numbers/name. Not sure if this is the forum for this but have never been in any of the others. I just want to again to say I have found all of you a great reprieve from the day to day grind in today's world. Talking about football and reading about football is one of my greatest escapes from just the daily news. I'm so glad that the NFL has continued with their off season. So I hope all of you are doing well and continue to be safe as well as all your families. No matter how the Bears end up in all of this, just being able to see games again this season will be a win!

I briefly mentioned this in the game thread, but this weekend, my girlfriend bought herself a Cutler jersey and treated me to a trip to Chicago which included tickets to the Bears/Steelers game. We are finally using Rashied. After all those times last week when we showed a possible end run we finally do run the end around and it works. The play calling is completely different from last year. Are we sure we still have the same coaches.

Now that we have Cutler and a few Oline players what do we need? Well I for one think that we need a big fast WR to throw to, someone in the mold of Burress. Not necessariliary Burress himself but maybe a guy like Kelly, Robiske in the draft to take some heat off of Hester. Cutler said that he is going to make Bennett better this year since they have played together and Williams will be blocking for him also. But what I really want to see is Turner throwing out his old playbook and get a grip to what his team can really do, and make plays for those down and distance calls. There are some early signs the offense is starting to come together. Anthony Miller is going to surprise a lot of people this season. I can include myself in that group as I wasn't that high on him in the draft process although the 2nd Rd seemed to be the right value for him. He's going to line up against other team's second or third best CB and that looks more and more like a huge advantage for the Bears. It's been a tough week listening to the so called experts ( TV, Radio ) pick apart this team, especially the offense. What I see is an offense that is in transition. We had 6 new starters last week, 7 this week on offense. But all they want to do talk about an interview after the game by our QB. (I myself do not know what the big deal was. Is he the new Vick, Owens and Burrass the NFL badboy ! That is BS ! IF Lovie has friends like that I hate to see his enemies.) It may get worse before it gets better ! Looking at our last three coaches what has been our real problem over these years. Given we have had 6 winning seasons, 2 seasons of being a 500 team and 8 loosing seasons in the last 16 years. So I ask you this who was the better coach? Also what plays the most important part of a winning season...a great defense or a great offence?
